Grill didn’t work. Needed to be a bit more manicured outside in the yard. I’m a light sleeper so the cabin is located right off a very busy street. The cabin had a musty smell. But other than that we still had a very great time. I think it was a bit over priced for the stay.

The property was very clean, check-in was easy, and the host replied to our questions instantly. We didn't use the kitchen, but the cabinets were stocked with everything you'd need. We preferred staying here over a small hotel room at a similar price.

Property was a great little cabin, clean, nice looking inside, great rooms, large rooms. Big yard, fire pit, quiet and peaceful..

The pictures absolutely represent the cabin.It is approximately mid way between the casino and the rivers we fished!! We had an amazing trip. Host was responsive, check-in was a breeze! We will definitely be back.

It was a girls getaway. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed your place. Kitchen is well stocked. Had a huge backyard. Beds were comfy. We shopped antique stores. Nice to come back and relax. Decorations around gave and nice cozy atmosphere.Thank you sharing your home

Perfect getaway

Overall the property worked great for our family of 5 and two dogs to travel together and stay in a stress free environment for a weekend long sporting event.

Great Cabin

The cabin was great! We were in town for a wedding and needed a comfortable place for the whole family, and this cabin did not disappoint!

I’m a bit reluctant to leave this review based on previous reviews that were less than a rating of 10. The owner’s attitude seemed to be, “everyone else loved it so it must be a ‘you’ problem.” This property has such great potential but it seems neglected and some areas are rough around the edges, such as missing trim in some areas of the bathroom . A good deep-cleaning would go a long way.- microwave had crud along the back edge- dust bunnies along the walls in the loft - the console table with the Christmas decor had a good layer of dust - dirty bath rugs and kitchen rugs. (I made the mistake of turning over the toilet rug. It should really just be thrown away.) - the bath towels we pulled out had seen better days; they were stained and had bleach/faded spots - the 2 larger rugs in the living and kitchen area could benefit from a steam cleaning - hair in the freezer and needed to be wiped out - refrigerator needed cleaning as well - the inside of the corner kitchen cabinet (which was empty) needs a thorough cleaning. Lots of dust. - 5-6 light bulbs missing from the back porch lights - exterior trash can was completely full and we couldn’t close the lid completely after adding our trash.

Thanksgiving

Staying here was perfect for spending time with my mother for Thanksgiving weekend. She lives in a nursing home and doesnt travel. I wanted to be able to cook with her, so Staying at a hotel was out. This place was cozy and was decorated beautifully, with some thoughtful touches. Will rent here in the future.

Exclusively rental property

Cabin is right on the main road and the interior was dusty. Beds are too soft and it's a typical rental property. Looks like it was built just to rent. Other than that, it's an alright cabin.

I’m sorry you felt that it was just typical and it’s unfortunate that you are the first review on this platform. The reviews on airbnb are the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of this. The latest review states “The pictures do not do this place justice. Its beautiful inside and out. The little touches with the decorations make you feel like you are in a cabin in Northern Michigan in the woods. It was perfect l. The group of us had a great time with being able to have a bonfire in the evening and just sitting out and enjoying the surroundings.”

Nice, but disappointed

We were pretty disappointed because the cabin was not very clean. We came in on the first day and there were food crumbs all over the kitchen table. There were dead ladybugs all over window sills and on the bottom of the floors by the molding. There was also a dried up piece of moldy cotton candy that was stuck in the couch. The towels were questionable if they were clean. We were just pretty disappointed with the cleanliness.

Great Place to Stay while visiting Midland

We were in town to visit family in Midland for the holidays. It was in a perfect location for a family get together in Midland. The property was beautiful and as advertised. I loved the open concept. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The kitchen was clean and furnished with everything you need. There was hand soap and dish soap which was a great plus! When we arrived the floors looked like they could have used a quick vacuum but not overly dirty. There were towels and wash cloths available for use, however, the bathroom sink and shower needed to be wiped down, and the water pressure in the shower was non existent, the shower just dribbled water directly under the shower head. We really did enjoy are stay and would consider returning, we travel often to Midland to visit family.

Disappointing

Cute dirty cabin on a very busy road. On first impression we were pleasantly surprised. The log cabin is cute and has nice little touches like hanging lights out front so you can find the cabin right off of a very busy road. The busy road is not ideal for us as we have a dog (no fenced area) and small children. The front and back porches have rockers. The kitchen chairs are heavy and hard to move. Lots of the dishes were dirty and had to be washed before using. A cookie sheet was obviously put away straight after use. Pots and pans had coating flaking off when washing. My two year old found an old dried out hot dog under the bed that had clearly been chewed on by a mouse or other small animal. Lots of mouse poop in the bathroom near the garbage can. More found on the bathroom table where I had my toothbrush and some inside of a ziploc where soap was. Floors left my feet extremely dirty and no available vacuum for me to attempt to clean up any of this. The bathroom towels were thin, rough and tiny. Dirty grill tools outside and a dirty grill. Is there even a cleaning person? As someone with small children, I noticed safety concerns everywhere. The railings to the upstairs had huge gaps, large enough for an adult to fall through. Definitely not to code and a lawsuit waiting to happen if someone actually injured themselves. There were spare tiles in the bathroom sticking out that I stubbed my toe on when trying to get more toilet paper. Cute place but needs some serious love.

I’m sorry you were not 100% happy with the cabin. I would have loved to have made things right for you but I didn’t hear of any concerns during your stay. What works for some doesn’t always work well for others. Usually, those that have pets love the private spacious yard (over an acre) that is fenced in on 2 sides. All pets should be leashed. We agree it still can use some love and are working on improvements constantly as it’s a true log cabin. Due to the unique and beautiful wooded nature of our cabin, sometimes the outdoors finds its way in. We do regularly (preventative) treat for bugs and other pests and will ensure our maintenance staff does so immediately.

The cabin was just fine. 1br main level, another br is up in the loft. We only stayed 2 nights, but packed in a lot including visiting Dow botanical gardens, the Tridge, a brewery , the casino, and of coarse Sammy Hagar was excellent. The host, Michelle was excellent with communication and overall was a great stay and place to stay. I’d recommend this place if staying in Mt Pleasant or Midland.
