Our property, Cerrito Encantado, offers a variety of accommodations, but this listing is for the serene La Casa Chilam. This cozy casita boasts approximately 660 square feet of space, featuring one bedroom, a bathroom with a standing shower, and a fully-equipped kitchen. We've taken care of all the details, providing linens, towels, and kitchenware to make your stay comfortable.

ABOUT LA CASA CHILAM
La Casa Chilam is a casita, 300 meters above sea level, and 14 kilometers from the seashore. It's a one bedroom, one bath with standing shower, and full kitchen in the serene town of Altavista.
This town is untouched by tourism and busy city life. Enjoy the tranquility of a small town where you are able to truly disconnect from life's demands.

Inside, ceiling fans ensure a pleasant atmosphere while you cook or unwind with the internet-connected TV. You won't have any trouble streaming as we have Starlink with speeds as high as 64 MBPs. However, most of our guests find themselves drawn to our outdoor paradise.

The front patio is a favorite spot for many visitors. Here, you can bask in the breathtaking view, relax, and savor fresh fruit from our trees. With a constant cool breeze and the mesmerizing flow of wind through our lush vegetation, it's easy to get lost in the tranquility.

At Cerrito Encantado, we have a pool, two meditation areas, a washer, yard, and outdoor kitchen, all for the enjoyment of our valued guests.

PROPERTY ACCESS
Cerrito Encantado offers a secluded getaway, but please be aware of our unique entrance. If you're driving, we recommend using a 4x4 or AWD vehicle to navigate the steep and private entrance comfortably. Alternatively, you can park on the main road and walk down to the property. The road is rocky and occasionally slippery, so take your time and exercise caution. If you need help with your luggage, please let us know in advance, and we'll gladly assist you.

Once you're on the property, please note that it spans two levels, and stairs are required to access all the wonderful amenities.

ABOUT ALTAVISTA
Altavista is a charming, safe, and quiet town untouched by tourism, known for its warm and welcoming community.

You'll find all the essentials you need within reach.

Several small grocery stores offer a selection of basic produce, deli meats, and cheeses. We recommend getting fruits and vegetables in bigger nearby towns or near airports.
Visit the Tortilleria for fresh tortillas or masa to make your own.
Enjoy a selection of beers at the deposito (bring empty bottles for discounts).
On Saturdays, don't miss the opportunity to purchase delicious pollo asado, complete with all the fixings, from a nearby home.

SITESITESEEING
November boasts an abundance of waterfalls (post-rainy season), and one is within walking distance from Cerrito Encantado.
There's a scenic hiking trail encircling the hill of Altavista - guide required.
Discover La Pila Del Rey, a historical ceremonial site of the indigenous Huichol people. It's a must-visit attraction in the area. To reach the site, you'll need a high-clearance vehicle for a 20-25 minute drive followed by a 15-minute walk to the ceremonial grounds. Note that map directions may be inaccurate - feel free to ask us how to get there!
Hot springs are only 30 minutes away!

TIME ZONE
AltaVista is located an hour and a half north of Puerto Vallarta. It's essential to be aware that we are one hour behind Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara. Our official time zone is Mexican Pacific Daylight Time. Please plan your arrival and departure accordingly.

NATURAL SURROUNDINGS
Cerrito Encantado is nestled in a tropical area surrounded by jungle, mountains, and the ocean. As such, insects and wildlife are a part of our natural ecosystem. While we take thorough measures to maintain a clean and bug-free environment between guests, it's important to note that our setting may not be suitable for guests with extreme insect sensitivities. Some insects may occasionally find their way inside despite our efforts.

Our property offers convenient access to various stunning beaches:
- La Peñita: 15 minutes away
- Chacala: 26 minutes away (our favorite)
- Guayabitos: 27 minutes away
- Los Ayala: 30 minutes away
- Lo de Marcos: 34 minutes away

- Sayulita: 51 minutes away (note the time zone difference)

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT
Our property is diligently maintained by our manager, Tomi. She is on-site three days a week, and additionally, she comes every morning and evening to take care of the dogs, ensuring they are both let out and securely tied up for the night.

Tomi is not only responsible but also incredibly warm and welcoming, so don't hesitate to say hello!

We are sometimes on the property, but we do our best to give you the space you need, but are also open to chatting!
