We enjoyed the cottage location being close to the beach and Rathtrevor park. However, there were a number of small things that I think need to be addressed to make it a five star stay: no smoke detectors that I could see; 3 light bulbs burned out; no screens on windows by patio door; window tracks were quite dirty; the deck overlooking the beach is in quite poor condition and needs to be replaced; some updated guide info for the area would be helpful.Overall it was a pleasant stay and we plan on returning.

Amazing location at the beach and next to the forest. We saw owls, ravens, deer and many other birds. A relaxing and cozy vibe here!

Everything about the cottage was wonderful. The location was right next to the beach and Rathtrevor Park - wonderful to walk the trails in the morning and evening. Close to all amenities in Parksville, as well! Great location to stay for a few days of relaxation.

We booked this place for two weeks to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and were expecting the cottage to be on the beach from pictures in the ad and the "Sit back, relax and watch the waves" title for the property. Instead the cottage has a view of the back of the main house and a hot tub that is not for your use. To access the beach you have to walk by the main house and go through it's back yard, which felt uncomfortable to us, feeling like we were invading their privacy. It turned out nobody ended up staying in the main house during our stay but since we didn't know that, it made our whole stay uncomfortable. The cottage itself was as described inside and was clean and comfortable and would be great for short stays. For a longer stay it was not suitable for us with no dishwasher, laundry or a proper closet or dresser in the bedroom for your clothes. It's location is ideal being next to Rathtrevor Park for walking trails and close to shopping and amenities. We also brought our kayaks hoping to be able to go out every day but the water was so rough most day and much colder than we were expecting so we didn't manage to get out once. So unfortunately for us, it was a very disappointing vacation.

Beauty at the Beach

This little cottage was just so sweet we loved every moment of our time there. The layout was great, and sitting beachside with my coffee in the morning was bliss, being steps from Rathtrevor was the best!!!

Wonderful cottage and location

Very good kitchen equipment. Great walking in the park and beach. East access to nearby parks and hikes.

Close to the beach and extremely quiet. It is like a home away from home. Nice cozy ambience. It was a cottage well equiped with all the basic necessities including good quality shampoos and handsoaps.

Little Piece of Paradise

This charming, clean, well maintained and comfortable cottage is the perfect home base for a Parksville area getaway. It is tucked back in a calm and quiet corner of a waterfront property and is only steps from the water. Ideal location with easy access to the many area attractions, but you’ll want to spend plenty of time right at the cottage!

Perfect location; 20 second walk to the beach plus 3 chairs at the beach overelooking the beach and oceanI would suggest repair of the platform at the beach as it is rotting plus secure the boards on the coffee table box in the TV room as they are potential safety hazzards; otherwise I would have given 5 stars

Parksville Cottage near the sea.

Very nice cozy quiet cottage. Can’t beat the location! Beautiful beach and walking trails Was a bit disappointed on initial check in from what I had expected. As per the photos we felt the cottage was “on” the water, but rather is tucked in the back corner of the main property. Still very beautiful and private and would recommend as well as stay again.

Cozy

Perfect cabin for a cozy winter getaway. The gas fireplace was great. We had everything we needed. We didn’t realize this was a small cabin on the back of the lot and not right on the ocean. The pictures are deceiving. There is a small view from the cabin but it’s not steps away as the picture let’s on. Thankfully no one was home in the main house so we still felt we had privacy. Overall a great stay.

Location was great. A lot weird rabbits haha. Had a message to host first night that for some reason didn’t get answered. Just simple questions about no dish drying towels, not enough coffee and filters to last for 3 days. Also didn’t realize the only way to use smart tv was to have a subscription service, which I didnt have any of those that are available.Plenty of privacy even while sitting on beach. Enjoyed watching the seals
