Welcome to North Bay Tranquility, hosted by Simple Life Rentals! This comfortable, pet-friendly cottage offers peace and quiet away from the crowds, secluded against nature conservancy-protected land just feet from the boat ramp into Lake Michigan's North Bay. Enjoy a spacious kitchen, breakfast bar, and inviting patio, all just a short drive from Door County's harbor towns.



The Space:

This property allows up to 2 well-behaved dogs, with an additional fee collected at booking.

Water Access:

Located on North Bay (Lake Michigan) - not directly waterfront, just steps from the Winding Lane boat ramp

Water is swimmable; very calm, especially on the north/west side of the bay

Shoreline is marshy to the north/northwest and rocky to the south/east

Water shoes recommended

Boat ramp at the end of the lane suitable for jet skis and smaller watercraft (depending on water level); approximately 1–3 feet deep at the ramp



Home Truths:

No dock at this property; watercraft docking is not allowed

Cell reception is moderate due to the rural nature of the property

The Neighborhood:

This home is located in a quiet community with neighbors and is geared towards quiet family vacations. Due to the proximity of neighbors and municipal restrictions, we cannot accommodate parties at the property including bachelor or bachelorette parties, reunions, weddings, or other gatherings.



Other Things to Note:

Amenity + damage protection waiver includes:

- Bed linens, pillows, blankets, and bathroom towels. (Please bring your own beach towels)

- A starter pack of essentials which includes toilet paper, paper towel, dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, and garbage bags. Due to septic systems, we do not provide facial tissue. One each of travel size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash per full bathroom.

- PEACE OF MIND Damage protection covers up to $1000 per stay for accidental damage that is reported prior to departure (excludes any pet damage).

The property and host were everything we could have wanted or needed for our Door County stay. The communication with the property manager was prompt, clear, informative, and friendly throughout the entire rental process. The property was as pictured and described, if not better. We did have one issue arise during our stay, which was handled brilliantly. The air conditioning at the location stopped working on an extremely hot day. I reported that to the property manager and they worked with the owner to send someone out immediately. The issue was resolved entirely in less than two hours despite being after typical work hours. Something like that can ruin a vacation, but in our case it was just the most minor inconvenience that was fixed about as fast as humanly possible. I cannot say enough good things about how well that situation was handled. I highly recommend the rental and would return to the property in a heartbeat. The entire experience was how renting a house should be. Five stars all the way!

Quiet time

Nice house in the woods but near the water with plenty of living space for the family. Was within a quick drive to many of the attractions for Door County.

Anniversary Get Away

We experienced a beautiful weekend in Door County for our anniversary. Golfing shopping dining just an all-around awesome weekend. We found the location of this place very close to everything and the fact that we were able to include our dog for the weekend. Made it extra special.

Cabin In The Woods

Very clean cabin in the woods. Close to the lake and on a very quiet little street. The actual road it's on is a bit off the beaten path, but that adds to the charm. It's a close drive to downtown Bailey's Harbor and Fish Creek. The bedrooms in the house are very small. Me and my partner shared the room with the queen bed and there wasn't enough room for our luggage (ended up using the living room and spare bedroom no one was using). If you have a full house of people, the space for travel items is going to be rough.

Convenient to Door County Parks

It was a very comfortable house for us and our dog, and conveniently located to hiking areas and wineries. We suggest that you bring your own drinking water or take advantage of the counter top water filter they provided. If the neighbors to the right of the property are permanent residents, you will not be able to enjoy a quiet evening outside as their dogs barked constantly. Hopefully, this was a one-off. If not for that, we would consider staying here again. The property manager was extremely fast to respond to any inquiries we had.

Peaceful, beautiful and comfortable

My family, including a 7 year old and two dogs, really enjoyed our stay at North Bay Tranquility, the house is very pretty and comfortable, the beds were great and everyone slept well. It has everything you could need (full kitchen, tv and internet, beautiful yard with fire pit) and we felt right at home. Only issue was when we arrived I took the cover off the gas grill to check it out and it promptly collapsed. Notified management right away, but no one fixed or replaced it, just stuck it in the garage. So that was a minor disappointment since we had planned to grill dinners. Overall though we were extremely happy with the home and our stay. Would definitely stay again!

Location to Sister Bay was great, maybe 10 minute drive. House is on quiet road so it’s good for walking dogs if you are traveling with your pups. The twin beds in 3rd bedroom & master are soooooo comfortable! We didn’t use middle bedroom.The 3 window air conditioners kept it cool even on warm days. We only cooked once, but kitchen had items we needed. Good water pressure in shower & bathroom has storage shelves, etc for toiletries.IF you are traveling with pets: the listing states the pet fee is charged at booking, I recommend confirming that it is charged at that time. I paid in full at time of booking, for 4 adults & 2 pets but pet fee wasn’t added & we had no knowledge of this until 4 days prior to our check in. At that point we could no longer cancel & book elsewhere, if we so chose. We always travel with our pets & have never had any issues before, hopefully this was computer glitch on their end & an isolated incident.
