A Cosy Cottage Retreat

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was great, exactly like the pictures. You can tell it is an older home with a lot of character. Great location to the beach and restaurants/shopping. We ended up using the 6th street access as the 5th access was not maintained. It is walkable but if you have a lot of stuff/little kids/older adults I would recommend renting a golf cart which was really easy to do last minute.

The hosts were wonderful and very accommodating. The house is beautiful and perfectly located within easy walking distance to everything the village has to offer. We have already recommended it to friends.

My husband, two pups, and I greatly enjoyed our week here! It was a little further from the beach than we expected and I couldn’t tolerate to walk that far (you have to walk to either third or sixth street and then down to the access and one seemed overgrown!) so we still ended up driving and parking at the main East Beach area. The house was also older and some of the floorboards are broken/pretty loose! Overall, it had everything we needed and plenty of space. There’s not much of a backyard or side yard so we had to walk our dogs to have them go potty.

Wonderful home - just as described (or better!). Clean, homey, well stocked, spacious. Quarter mile easy walk to beach, 2-3 mile walk downtown. Checkin was very easy (door code) and host was very responsive (we had brief difficulty accessing interent, likely user error). Smart TVs in living room, 1 bedroom and sun room.

We escaped the Chicago cold for a 3 week stay in this quaint cottage. It was very comfortable and just a short walk to the beach. We liked the 3rd street access the best. Favorite restaurants were The Half Shell (go early- no reservations) and Halyards (they do take reservations). Our dog especially enjoyed the local 8:30 a.m. dog walking group on the beach- everyone here is so friendly!

Lovely cozy place!

Very clean and a great location for short walk to beach! This was our first time in St. Simon’s Island, and we would definitely book this property again!

mary's house is great, just as described. has everything we needed. one block from the beach within walking. get a golf cart for nice rides around town. we have stayed there before and will again .

Great location —- cute house

Easy access to the beach and biking distance to the Village. The home has everything you need — multiple tv’s, well stocked kitchen, great screened in porch and more. We will rent this property again.

We had an amazing stay at Mary’s house! It’s a cute little 1930s cottage that has been updated. Close to East beach public access or simply walk along the dune path. Definitely adding this house to our favorites for when we’re ready for another quick run to SSI! The realty group that maintains the property were easy to work with!

Check-In was very easy, the place is beautifully decorated, and lots of different spots to hang out in. Kitchen had almost all the things we needed for a Thanksgiving feast, although there was no slow cooker as we had expected. We enjoyed taking the dog down to the big beautiful beach. Recommend you use Sixth Avenue to go down rather than the closer 5th avenue. Much straighter shot to the beach down Sixth.

The beds sleep great, the front porch is awesome and the den arrangement and sunroom are great for hanging out. Proximity to the beach is also a plus and you can’t beat the east beach neighborhood.

Nice and Pleasant

This is the third or fourth time I have stayed at the property, it is what a beach house should be, nice, clean, plenty of space and a charcoal grill! My dog loves the front porch as I read the afternoon's away.

A Perfect Beach Home

This was the perfect beach home for our family vacation. It was exactly what we needed for our family of six and two pups. It was a short walk to the beach and a short drive to all of the restaurants and shops. Everything we needed during our stay was available in the home. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Best beach vacation!

Mary’s House is an adorable cottage with a welcoming front porch (screened), clean and comfortable furnishings, well-resourced kitchen, and a perfect location in East Beach. We spent almost two weeks this summer relaxing and enjoying all that SSI has to offer. House is located in an ideal location to great restaurants. We will definitely return and offer high praise!

East Beach Cottage

We had a great experience at this property and Ben was always available. Our one problem was a bed had not been changed prior to our arrival and we had to change the sheets, hence to 4 stars for cleanliness. Other than that, which was an easy fix, we recommend this property and hope to stay there again.

We love Mary's House!

We really enjoyed out time at Mary's House! It is a perfect East Beach location, with an easy trek to a lovely uncrowded beach. The house itself has lots of charm and was a great fit for our family of five plus our dog. The kitchen has all the necessities, including a crock pot to save you from worrying about dinner after a long day on the beach. And the house was absolutely spotless when we arrived. Thanks for a wonderful week. We are looking forward to our next visit!

The property Was not as expected,

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, it was a decent experience. Several issues need to be addressed. The garbage disposal did not work, which was a problem. The outside grill did not have a grate for the charcoal. The house smelled very musty and the outside yard was very messy and unkempt. unfortunately, we were there during the construction of a fence right next to us. We did enjoy the screened in front porch. There was no backyard at all, which was not indicated in the pictures or description. But one of the major things was that there was not a railing going up the steps to the front door. I needed assistance going up and down the stairs each time. Do building codes not require rails to help enable handicap people?
