HOT TUB! PRIME LEAF PEEPING! Gorgeous 4BR

Summary:

This gorgeous chalet perched on a high hill is surrounded with trees and features an enormous wrap-around deck, HOT TUB, vaulted living room with tons of windows, wood burning fireplace, huge smart TVs and a lower level GAME ROOM for adults and kids with every fun game you can imagine- pool, ping pong, PacMan video arcades, darts and more. Each bed is new and there are king beds and trundle beds to accommodate visitors of all ages. Please note there is an extra charge of $75 for up to 2 pets.



The Space:

The chalet is modern and open, with all the amenities you can imagine and large, open spaces.



Guest Access:

Keypad access makes coming and going easy! You have your own key code so you'll never have to worry about security.



The Neighborhood:

Shenandoah Farms is a small community on the hills overlooking the Shenandoah river. We have a river landing area that's perfect to put in or get out from tubing or kayaking/canoeing. You're just minutes away from a lazy river tubing experience on the Shenandoah, hiking at Sky Meadows State Park, or the gorgeous mill and village at Millwood with the Buttery and Locke Market for food. Paris, Virginia is right around the corner with its lovely Ashby Inn and Restaurant, and the Hunter's Head Tavern in Upperville and shopping in Middleburg isn't far either. Along 17 you'll find all the wineries you can handle, with Arterra being our favorite. Front Royal with its lovely old town, shopping and dining is about 25 minutes away, and just beyond is Chester Gap, a winery with excellent wine and amazing views.



Getting Around:

From DC it's just an hour and twenty minutes, and we recommend taking exit 23 off of 66 for the best views. Howellsville Road is easy to miss, so if you are on 55 and go over the Shenandoah, you've gone too far.



Other Things to Note:

On the back deck we have lovely dimmable patio lights for a perfect evening while dining after grilling, or perhaps enjoying the hot tub. A gas grill is provided with extra propane as well.

Host was really responsive and easy to communicate with. Lots of amenities like shampoo/conditioner. Lots of games in the basement that’s good for older kids. Very steep driveway so would recommend 4WD in winter, no issues in the summer. Would stay here again!

Great stay and comfortable home. The house had everything we needed. Home is updated and clean. Love the full kitchen, grill, and hot tub which we enjoyed daily during our stay. David was very responsive and check in was easy. Really appreciated the recommendations of local towns and sites. Would love to come back!

We had a great weekend at this home. I would suggest access to salt in the winter for guests. That was the only downside - there is a long and very steep driveway that was icy when we went in Feb. But gorgeous views and great space. Would recommend!

We loved the hot tub and the game room in the basement. The property was not really clean and ready for our visit, both outside on deck and with thick ashes in fireplace. We did not like having to clean the deck and fireplace as soon as we got there, but we had to so we could enjoy them. Kitchen was nicely outfitted with everything we needed and rest of house was nicely organized. Our family enjoyed the few days we spent in this rental, but our expectations were met but not exceeded during our stay.

My family and I stayed at this property to celebrate my granddaughter’s first birthday. We had a fantastic time at this beautiful house. There was plenty of room and plenty to do. It has a spacious deck with grill, hot tub and fire pit, as well as a huge game room on the lower level. Felt remote yet close enough to sight see, shop and eat. I definitely recommend a stay here and would book again. David, the host, was very responsive and made the entire process seamless.

We loved this property! Family friendly - our kids (well and us too!) loved the game room. It was really nice to have this option after a hot day outside! I noticed games and toys for little ones too - so truly a family place!Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and appliances. Paper towels, foil, trash bags, soap, detergent, shampoo, conditioner and body wash were all available. Night stands had charging blocks. Comfortable beds, nice linens and towels, Keurig and coffee. Hot tub was clean and nice. As stated in the description, it has a steep driveway - we had no issues in our truck. If we return to the area we would absolutely stay here again. Great communication with David too. Thank you for all the little touches and details you considered. It truly felt like a home and not a rental.

Beautiful stay for a holiday get together with family! The game room downstairs has LOTS of entertainment and the view of the woods and Shenandoah River truly felt like a get away. Relaxing and everything provided, towels, linens, shampoo/conditioner, trashbags, and laundry detergent. Was wonderful to get together and not have to worry about a thing! A plus that we were able to bring our doggos!

This was such a nice place to stay. It was clean and cozy. The kitchen was well equipped, I did bring my own crockpot but other than that I had everything I needed. Plenty of good coffee cups. The view was absolutely beautiful, we came from Kansas so the fall vibe was in full force.

Amazing property!

This was such an amazing and beautiful property! The house is just as pictured, it is so wonderful. The adults and children all enjoyed our long weekend, the host has excellent communication, and the whole process went very smoothly.

Great property and location!

We stayed at the property for the three nights with another family. Everything was amazing - comfortable beds, good kitchen, great deck with views, proximity to neat small towns and hiking trails and, most importantly, a killer game room for the kids with pool, ping pong, and old-school arcade games. Highly recommend, and would definitely stay again! Ideal property for two families!

Our stay at River Lodge was outstanding. The home is well appointed with all of the necessities we needed for our stay and the space was perfect for spending time with family. We arrived just in time to see the beautiful fall foliage which was on full display in the huge windows all throughout the house. The house is just off the beaten path enough, but close to a lot of stores, restaurants, and, most importantly, COFFEE! If you visit check out The Apple House for delicious food and souvenir shopping, Spelunkers for burgers and custard, and a new addition Mountain Gap Market for coffee, baked goods, and other sundries. All in all, we highly recommend River Lodge for your next Virginia mountain vacation.

House was an excellent choice for separating groups with a sleeping / play / tv area downstairs away from main floor. Had its own entrance as well. Game room was a big hit. Road and driveway very steep. Parking for 3 cars. About 30 min drive to State Park and 30 to Shenandoah.

Beautiful retreat

I had a wonderful stay with my family. The house feels peaceful and private with stunning views but the location provided easy access to many visitor attractions. The game room was large and well maintained. My kids spent as much time as possible in it. The house is beautifully decorated and has every amenity we could have needed. The host is very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend this property.

We had a fantastic stay at this property. The home truly had everything we needed for a comfortable and easy trip. The kitchen was well stocked, the living spaces were cozy, and everything was clean and thoughtfully arranged. It felt like the hosts had really anticipated what guests might need.One of the best parts was that the property is pet-friendly, which made traveling with our furry family members so much easier. It’s not always easy to find places that welcome pets, so we really appreciated that.The highlight of the house was definitely the basement—it was like a built-in game room! There were plenty of games and activities that kept everyone entertained, and it ended up being the spot where we spent most of our evenings. It added such a fun and unique touch to the stay.Overall, this rental struck the perfect balance between comfort, convenience, and fun. We’d absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with a little extra entertainment built in.

Upon arrival we had to launder the bedding in the two upstairs bedrooms because they were dirty. However, we first had to clean the washing machine because there was moldy debris in the drum. We also had to clean the dirty floors, however the vacuum was broken and there werent cleaning supplies so we had to use a damp towel. It should be noted the kitchen and bathrooms were clean but if you are sensitive to dog hair there was alot of it in the house. Overall, the lack of cleaniness overwhelmed other nice aspects of the property like the fun game room downstairs, which was clean. Also, there has been a lack of communication regarding the return of our security deposit which is still owed.

Wow- this came out of nowhere. Yes, we recall you calling us about dead bugs on the OUTSIDE of the windows, and some few pet hairs you found in a corner (we are dog friendly, and pets do shed- we do our best but some hairs do get away from us. And we sent over our handyman AND cleaner within hours of your initial complaint... And we don't even collect a security deposit, and told you that so there is nothing to return... So, sorry Sally but I don't see how this warrants a 1 star review. Considering our other 5 star reviews across the board... I have to say that you're the problem, it's you. Some people...
