As you pull into the driveway you'll be taken away with the serenity and peace and quiet. Don't be surprised if you see a few deer. As the cabin comes into sight so does the breathtaking view of Big Manistique Lake. Chances are before entering the cabin you'll be drawn to the lakeside. Pull a chair up to the fire pit and let the roasting of s'mores begin! Pour a glass of wine and relax watching the ducks, geese and loons from the screened in porch. Or just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. Curl up on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee and watch your favorite show. Sit on the dock and cast a fishing pole. Or enjoy ice fishing. Feel adventurous? Snowmobile and Side x side trails are within 2 miles.
Go sight seeing! Just 15 minutes from Benny the Bearded Troll or Seney Wildlife Refuge. Like golf? JP memorial golf and Pizza is within 10 minutes . Their Pizza is unbelievable! They even have disc golf!
End of the Road Winery is only 5 minutes away! And for your sweet tooth there's The Lakes Gift Shop and Ice Cream! Or Moose De Nord for unbelievable ice cream!
Looking to throw back a few or just have a great burger? Talley Ho BBQ in Curtis or The Shipwreck are 5 minutes away.
Don't forget to visit the Garland Zoo or Oswald Bear Ranch! Grand Marais is only 40 minutes away! Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinac Island. Don't forget Big Springs!
You definitely won't get bored with so many things to see and visit.
If you happen to be visiting for snowmobile season, you can access the trails from the lake or road. Maps are available at local businesses. As a reminder though, we are not responsible for the trails and roads. please rate our Lakehouse for the lakehouse not for the upkeep of trails in the area. We have no control over that or mother nature.
We highly recommend not pulling below the hill with snowmobile trailers or boats. Please use the turn around at the top of the hill for parking trailers.

This cute and cozy cabin was absolutely perfect for our needs. It was very clean and well kept. Sitting on the deck with coffee in the morning or relaxing after a full day of activities was so peaceful. This spot is definitely on the list for our next UP adventure.

Great location to meet the needs of our planned adventures. Had all the accommodations we needed. The time we spent there was enjoyable with the lake, ducks and fire to fill our time together. Such a wonderful place for a vacation and family time. From the comments from the family they would like to plan another trip up next year and if we can will be booking this location again.

Property was amazing! The home was equipped with everything needed, and the host was easy to communicate with. The dock is the perfect place to sit with a cup of coffee and watch the sun come up while listening to the ducks. If you are looking for a peaceful place with a slice of Heaven, this is it!

What an amazing and peaceful place to stay. This cabin has everything you need! Host was extremely helpful, responsive, and kind. Location is perfect for pictures rocks, sable falls, Tahquamenon falls, etcWould absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful and peaceful setting. Lots todo in the area or you can just relax at the cottage. Kim is incredibly responsive.

Overall very nice place but very small bedrooms. Nice screened in porch and nice campfire pit on lake. Lake tends to get very very windy and low waters so couldn't keep our 16' boat tied at dock. If bringing a boat, it is very hard to back up into turn around and unhitch or hitch up. I would not bring anything larger than a 16 footer.

I'm glad you seemed to enjoy most of your stay. Yes it is a small cozy cabin. We love the screened in porch it's great for rainy days and keeps you safe from the bugs.
We try and let people know that the parking and turn around at the top of the hill is the best spot for boat and snowmobile trailers. We've had quite a few experienced drivers back their trailers down the hill. But still recommend using the parking area above for turning around trailers.
I'm surprised you couldn't keep your boat at the dock. The guests before you had a pontoon boat all week and didn't seem to have issues. I do wish we could control the lake level and winds but Mother Nature just seems to have a mind of her own.
I'm sorry we couldn't check all the boxes for a 5 star review and will continue to work on things to earn them in the future. Thank you for your honest review.

Clean, cozy and comfortable! Everything you would need for preparing meals. Nice grill. My favorite things, sunrise from dock, Coffee on screened porch watching sun go down from paddle boat. Great communication with host but didn’t have any issues at all. We fell in love with Big Manistique Lake. Perfect location!! Thank you

Lakehouse Dream Cottage was so wonderful!! Kim is an excellent host and all communications were fast and easy! The cottage is such an adorable, cozy, charming and welcoming place! Kim has really thought out everything, as far as the essentials and decorations! We easily used the turn-around at the top of the hill to turn our boat trailer around and back it down the hill. The public boat launch 1.5 miles to the west was nice and not isolated. There were so many loaded apple trees along Curtis Road and at the boat launch. We may have picked some to bring back for our "cottage momma deer and her two fawns!" We sprinkled them along the wood line at the top of the hill and it appeared as though they were a hit! (hint, hint for the renters after us!) The lake is just so beautiful and peaceful! We loved watching the eagles soar above the lake and the loons diving underwater! We were also lucky enough to see seven seaplanes take off from the lake! We would love to come back and rent again in the future! Thanks again Kim!

This cabin was amazing. The stars, the deer, the calm lake…it was beautiful. We would absolutely love to come back in the summer or even the winter.

Perfect place for our December Winter Get-Away! Cozy cabin, beautiful table for family games, large TV to watch the ball drop on NYE. We went dogsledding at Nature's Kennel 30min north. Took a beautiful walk along driveway and on lake in the snow. Host was fabulous with communication.

Excellent Stay
Great place! Had everything we needed for a great vacation. Host was wonderful with communication and even recommended a charter for us for catching the big ones! Was quite and peaceful with nature all around.

My husband and I purchased Lakehouse Dream in December of 2022. It was always my "Dream" to have a house on a Lake. Hence the name. We started renovating the cabin immediately doing a little something each year.
We knew what it was like traveling with our family when our children were young and that is why we thought we would offer it to others. With the hopes that others would enjoy it as much as we do. We have 2 grown boys and a grandson and granddaughter that keep us on our toes. They also enjoy the time we are able to spend on The Big Manistique Lake and nearby attractions. There is always something fun to do, whether it be fishing or jetskiing we make memories at Lakehouse Dream, and we hope you will too.

Location, Location, Location. We are located in the middle of all the action. Mackinac Island, Grand Marias, Tahquamenon Falls, Pictured Rocks, Benny the Bearded Troll, Oswald Bear Ranch, Garland Zoo, Seney Wildlife Refuge, and so much more with in 1.5 hours or less. And just a few steps from The Big Manistique Lake.
Winters are unforgettable, in the Curtis area the winter of 2025-26 we had a good amount of snow for snowmobile enthusiasts. The snowmobile trail goes right across the lake pending good ice.

Big Manistique Lake view is amazing. Whether it be the sunrise or the sunset it is beautiful. Peace and quiet. Snowmobile enthusiasts dream and Side by Side Riders love the location. Just a few minutes from trails. Centrally located too so much to do.
