Welcome to The Morgan House – Historic Charm Meets Modern Comfort

Step back in time while enjoying modern comforts at The Morgan House, a charming 1892 Frame Vernacular-style home in the heart of Ocala, Florida. Named after Mathew Morgan, Ocala’s Police Chief from 1923 to 1928, this unique retreat blends historic character with thoughtful amenities for a relaxing and memorable stay.

Your Private Suite

This comfortable one-bedroom suite accommodates up to four guests and features a king-size bed, a sleeper sofa that converts into a full-size bed, and a private bathroom with a tiled rain shower, double vanity, fresh towels, and complimentary toiletries. Enjoy your favorite shows on the Smart TVs, relax by the fireplace, or unwind in relaxing hot tub.

Everything You Need

The fully equipped kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and everyday essentials. A dining bar for two offers a convenient spot for meals or morning coffee. You’ll also have access to a washer and dryer, iron, ironing board, and a dedicated workspace with a roll-top desk and chair.

Relax Outdoors

Enjoy the shared backyard, complete with a gas grill, outdoor dining table, six-person hot tub, hammocks, and outdoor furniture. Two bicycles are also available for guests to explore the neighborhood.

Extremely clean property, all the accommodations you could possibly need. The location is perfect it's close to everything. The best part of our stay was how understanding and quick to respond our VRBO host was to respond will definitely stay here again when we are passing through!

Gorgeous house , it had everything we needed, comfortable , spotless , we LOVED everything. Lovely quiet historic area but so close to downtown restaurants and shops . As big nature lovers it was so easy to get to nature close by . We definitely would recommend this place to others . The hosts were lovely too.

The host thought of every tiny thing to accommodate their guest. Everything was extremely clean. The hot tub was fabulous. We could quickly hike at Silver Springs and just around the historic neighborhood and the downtown it was simply perfect. We loved it.

Perfect place! Cozy, roomy, clean. Check in and out was simple and easy. No hassle at all. Kids were comfortable on the fold out couch. Everything provided that you could possibly need to cook and wash clothes. We would stay here again.

Great house

The description of the property is on point and the house itself was very nice and there is a great sized back yard for our dogs to run around as well. Perfect location to the downtown area and to Ocala itself. Would definitely stay here again!

Ocala escape

Great place for stay, particularly with pets as there is a nice fenced in yard. Lovely and safe area to walk among old craftsman, Victoria, and small cottages. All amenities available onsite tho shopping close by. Will stay again when visiting family in the area!

Great house within walking distance to downtown.

This is a fantastic house in the historic district of Ocala. Very charming, spacious and well appointed. Owners have done a great job of keeping the historic feel of the area. Walking distance to downtown Ocala and restaurants.

Central Ocala

Older home, in/near Historic District. Great stay, everything we needed, walkable to downtown. Perfect for our getaway. Kudos to the property owner, property is close to 100 years old but perfectly suitable as a short or long term rental. Well done.

Historic District Gem

Conveniently located in the Historic District - a short drive or walk to many outstanding shops and restaurants. Host lives next door and was very neighborly and knowledgeable. Enjoyed a bottle of wine with host on comfortable deck overlooking fenced yard. Unit is dog-friendly and is one of the cleanest we have encountered. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Our standard poodle Blaze also approves this property.

Comfy apartment in a wonderful location

My husband spent 3 weeks at this lovely apartment, in Ocala's beautiful historic district. A short walk to downtown, and a farmer's market on Saturday mornings. We enjoyed some very pleasant walks in the neighborhood checking out the stunning homes in the area. The apartment was clean and well equipped and felt like a home away from home. We met our host, who was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this property!

Charming Historic Home Apartment

My husband and I were in town visiting family with our Miniature Australian Shepherd for 3 nights. This place has been lovingly cared for in a beautiful quiet neighborhood that we loved walking through daily. It’s close to downtown. The bedding was comfortable and we slept well. It is stocked with everything you need including coffee. Backyard is fully fenced with a lovely deck and was great for our dog. We now know why it’s a guest favorite as it’s now one of our favorite stays and would love to return the next time we visit family.

Perfect home in great neighborhood!! Lovely!

Absolutely loved this property, they added nice touches as a welcome of waters and eggs with some small breakfast items as well to help you out, They also provided laundry soap and softener so that you could do laundry in the stack machine, the property was exactly like described great location and very safe. The house is extremely comfortable with plenty of room, As we took our pupsters the yard was perfect and plenty of room to romp around securely fenced with motion lights for the evening. Another great feature were the multiple decks so that it insured some privacy if other guest rented the additional apartments. The owners were very very nice and made sure that we had everything we needed super communication and care, we highly recommend this as one of our favorites in Ocala truly a 5 star and above. Absolutely will be back!!

Comfy & Quiet

This was the perfect location for our needs. My husband was having open-heart surgery and we stayed the Blue Heron the night before so we wouldn't have to worry about traffic. I continued to stay on for a few days later to be close to the hospital - it was only .8 of a mile away! The home is nicely laid out with all the comforts you might need, including farm fresh eggs, pastries, and coffee. The home is in the historic district, not far from schools, so it was quiet and I felt safe staying there alone. The spacious and well-lit kitchen is well-stocked for cooking, and there is a charming outdoor space to hang out in the evenings. Plenty of towels - and the basic toiletries are provided. And I loved the touch lamps with USB/Plugs for charging devices. All in all, it was an extremely pleasant stay and if I were in a similar situation again, I wouldn't hesitate to book this charming home.

The historic district is full of charm and character. I love to walk a few minutes downtown to eat at the wonderful restaurants, shop in the boutiques and listen to live music. The architecture of each home is completely different than the next making for an interesting eclectic collection of homes.

This suite is just steps from downtown. It offers one of the best prices for a large one bedroom home with a full kitchen, living room, bathroom, bedroom, dining room, and a large fenced in backyard.
