The place was perfect for the eight of us! We had three kids (ages 4,5 and 10) who loved the lake, kayak and hot tub! The location was perfect and the place had all the basic ingredients for all meals (coffee, spices, oil and vinegar)…. We are now in Húsafell and wished we had stayed here instead. We are really enjoying Iceland and will return!

Signy did a great job communicating and making sure we were taken care of. The place was amazing and so much better than shown on website. The peacefulness of the place really spoke to our souls. Having a great hot tub and sauna with views was perfect. We actually were surprised by the northern light from the hot tub the first night. We then turned off all interior and exterior lights to eliminate light pollution. The place is vey secluded to the point that you don’t realize there are neighbors. The place was well appointed with art and artifacts. I do want to know the about the artist that is exhibited and the story about the building materials used. Icing on the cake is a coffee make that grinds for each cup….and plenty of beans. Thanks Signy for curating a place that will bring us memories that won’t fade.

Amazing location

Better than the pictures! This house is beautifully appointed with everything we needed for a 5 night stay. The hot tub and sauna were fantastic, and the view across the lake cannot be beat! Quiet location about an hour from Reyjkavik. Note that there is a mountain pass between Reyjkavik and Selfoss that often gets closed during high winds and snow storms. Other than that, the location is rural, quiet, and a perfect place to unwind after seeing the Golden Circle and other sights. 10/10 would recommend!

Outstanding property. We were a party of 8 (4 couples and we all had plenty of privacy. Huge common area, well equipped kitchen for a rental property and everything operated in mint condition. We will not hesitate to stay there again!

We had an amazing stay here. The house was perfect for three couples. The kitchen was huge, we enjoyed playing games at the large dining table each night. The hot tub was our favorite part. But we also enjoyed the sauna. Views are incredible and easy spot to do day trips. Very clean and I would definitely recommend. 10/10!!

Spectacular stay in Iceland

We loved this property - spectacular views and amenities. The property is very well managed and clean. The location is fantastic - near so many incredible sites. We received excellent referrals on places to eat and visit. We also had a great catered meal at the house - delicious! We would absolutely return to this beautiful spot.

Spectacular Retreat

This property is top notch. Easy access from busy Sellfoss, yet quiet and so relaxing! Plenty of room to cook and dine together with all amenities! We wish we had booked our stay for longer just to be able to enjoy the lake and peaceful surroundings!!

Big house in a great location

This house was great for our multi-generation family trip (2-85 years). It was large enough that everyone had their space while still being together. The kids loved the lakeside beach while the adults enjoyed the hot tub. The host was easy to communicate with and had everything we needed. Would stay here again.

Amazing property

Excellent property view amazing views. Quiet location with easy access to town. The property has absolutely everything you need. The jacuzzi and sauna are amazing and the kids enjoyed the canoes. I would go back in a heartbeat. Don't hesitate to book, you won't regret it.

Serenity + Convenience = Perfection

Beautiful, extremely well-appointed home is conveniently situated only 10 minutes from Selfoss. This wonderful home has everything you’ll need, is located in an amazing lakeside setting, and will serve as a launch point for all of your South coast adventures. Can’t wait to return!

Great Location in the Middle of the Golden Circle

Beautiful property with a great location on a quiet lake. Just 10 minutes from the town of Selfoss with many restaurants and shops. Nice array of amenities - nespresso machine, induction cooktop, sauna, fire pits, bath robes, and more. Saw the Aurora from the comfort of the jacuzzi every night. Just note that the second full bathroom only has an outside entrance.

The house is situated about 30 minutes away from Selfoss and is the perfect retreat! You can be in Vik in 2 hours. The kitchen is fully furnished (coffee maker uses beans only) and it was clean, Quiet neighborhood. Lovely sauna and tub outside. Plenty of room for more than just us 2. Close to a few fun attractions. We would 100% book again. Host is fantastic! @kovaction on YouTube

A wonderful, magical place

Walking into the house and looking out at the mountain and the lake, you know you have chosen well. We lazed I the beautiful sauna and soaked in the infinity hot tub, enjoying the magnificent surroundings and the lovely house. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals, and you are close to Selfoss if you want to eat out. If you are hesitating about renting this, don’t. This house will make your trip. It also is close to many of the most famous sites to visit.

I can't even begin to say enough good about this property, the host, and our stay! I echo everyone else's 10/10 rating! Beautiful scenery from the back porch! Right on Lake Alfavatn. The sauna and hot tub are simply "icing on the cake." Comfortable beds... We loved the coffee! The location truly can't be beat--right in the middle of the "Golden Circle." Easy to access. Close to the city of Selfoss for dining and groceries. Right around the road from Kerid Crater! It's just as it's pictured. Truly, we felt that we were living luxuriously in the heart of Iceland. And, yes! We saw the Northern Lights EVERY NIGHT from the back porch. What a blessing!(Unlocking the door takes a little practice!)

Northern Lights Lakehouse

The Lakehouse Villa was the perfect place for our adventures in the golden circle and the city. Signey was very responsive and always communicated with us to make us feel at home. The Villa was clean and modern, we were blown away with the views of the lake and mountains. One night we came back from a Northern lights tour empty handed, but upon our arrival back at the lake house, the sky was lit up with the Northern lights! Beautiful villa, beautiful country of Iceland, highly recommend the villa!
