Great little spot for touring DC. For a week. We got a metro pass and the metro is only a few blocks away. Great restos in the area. Our favorite was a sports bar called Easy Tiger. Great drinks and amazing food. April was totally responsive and helpful. Definitely would stay again.

The accommodation is in an old brownstone row-house with charm and located in a nice area close to good restaurant options and to the Woodley Street Metro station and bus stops serving downtown DC. Though old, the basic necessities are very clean and well maintained.

April and John were great hosts! They made sure we had everything we needed and were very helpful when it came to figuring out the door lock and the checkout process. The property was super cute and only a few minutes walk away from lots of dining options, the metro and the National Zoo. We loved how quiet it was, especially being so close to other things around. We loved the dining recommendations, as well as being able to get anywhere fairly quickly using the metro system. We would love to stay here again in the future!

Cute little apartment in a great location. We enjoyed exploring the local neighborhoods and the Capitol by foot, bike and metro. Can't wait to come back again. Some basic spices, salt and pepper, etc., would be a great addition to the cupboard. P.S. another reminder - and I am so sorry for pestering multiple times about this - if I could I get the 2 shirts I left in the closet mailed back to me me, I would truly appreciate it! Happy to pay shipping, handling, etc. Thanks.

Excellent Location, charming and snug spot

Loved staying in the small cozy spot! The location was perfect for getting around town on the metro! Great places to eat within walking distance. Gelt super safe as a woman travelling aline. Agent was super responsive when thwre was a small issue.

Good find & cozy place to stay in D.C.

Comfortable, Great for walking, really close to metro and Rock Creek Park. Having some better cooking supplies would be nice & some basic condiments, ie: cooking oil, salt & pepper, etc.The heat was a bit hard to regulate. Nice towelsFelt secure & was quiet.

Cute Property

Location is great and property is super cute. Would recommed this for two people and no more. The pull out sofa isn’t great but the apartment is fantastic for just a couple who can share the main bed. Not a ton of amenities but perfect if you’re just using it as a home base. Again the location is great!

This is an old house divided into separate apartments. Entry into the building was a bit of an issue, as I didn’t receive a crucial instruction about the key pad. We figured it out though. The front door to this apartment has huge gaps, allowing a great deal of light in from the hallway common area, and the deadbolt appeared to be just catching the doorframe. IT DID NOT FEEL SECURE! Little to no parking, so if you’re driving to DC, like we did…this place is a problem. The closest Metro station is a good three blocks walk. For people in their 70s and 100 degree temperatures & humidity, it was a tough walk. There are many restaurants and shops nearby, if that’s a priority for you. The apartment was tidy and clean, w/sparse furnishings and two window shaker type AC units. The one in the bedroom is oddly covered by a drape and if you want more AC, you must open the curtain to a window that sits below and to the side of an upper balcony patio. Not ideal! The bathroom is quite small and utilitarian. Our stay was a last minute whim and I wish I’d done more research. Not the place for us. Maybe younger folks, but if you you’re a senior citizen, probably keep searching.

Great location- easy access to transportation (buses, metro), zoo, Adams Morgan restaurants, etc. Hosts are great- quick responses, detailed check in/out instructions.Neighborhood feels safe for walking at all hours and building feels safe as well. Parking spots behind building (available by pre-arrangment and extra fee only) are tight- suggest small cars only. Rats are a city-wide problem but we felt this block had a particularly bad rat problem- we routinely saw rats scurrying around behind the building and adjacent buildings and in front of neighboring buildings. Housekeeping in our unit was ok- we felt it needed a deep cleaning (for example hardwood floor needs to be thoroughly cleaned and sealed) and also needs maintenance- several things in room needed repair. King bed mattress was comfortable and there were luggage racks. Could have used more hand towels. The couch/ sofa in living room is tiny and uncomfortably hard. Because of that and the lack of other easy chairs- it’s not really a good hang space. Our biggest complaint is the building exterior looks very shabby and needs lots of cleaning and maintenance/repair. For example - rotting wood trim, stained and dirty exterior finishes, trash, broken fixtures, misc. trash around. It looks out of character compared to many of the buildings on the block.We probably would not stay here again because of the shabby vibe of the unit and building.

Great neighborhood, but building age brings real problems

The neighborhood is safe, walkable, and very convenient for services and transportation. The communication with the owner was excellent. There is one parking space in the back, and the unit was very cozy with all the comforts of home. And my stay was awful. The steam heating in the unit creates a "water hammer" effect, a very loud and sharp banging when it turns on. Both the bedroom and living room radiator had this, preventing me from sleeping the first three nights. I sent the owner audio recordings of the problem, and after many, many messages back and forth with suggestions to stop it, her husband came over on the 4th day to try to fix it. He explained to me that you had to drain the water from the system, but he did not show me how to do it. He mostly fixed the noise in the bedroom, but the living room radiator still banged away the rest of the week, interrupting my online work meetings and conversations. Everyone must be aware of this before booking this unit, especially in the winter.Other challenges: the back stairs to the alley are very narrow with no real railing. Also, the TV is on an Amazon fire stick. If you don't have an account, you can't get to most channels. Lastly, the tub/shower lever is hidden in the tub spigot and took some real detective work to figure it out. Sadly I won't be staying here again unless they replace the old heating pipes with ones that don't startle you several times day and night.

Very clean apartment, comfortable bed and well appointed kitchen. Television was a bit touchy and often buffered or exited show all together. Property could use a little TLC but hosts were very easy to to work with and location was a plus.
