First off, I will say that this COULD be a great place to stay. Decent house, love the location. With that being said, it was obvious that it had not been really cleaned in some time. I mean it was wiped down, but the walls were filthy, the carpets were grossly stained in every room. They were so bad that we wouldn't dare walk barefoot. The microwave oven was just plain gross. I understand bugs in a farmhouse, but there were so many dead bugs everywhere it couldn't have been swept properly before we arrived. It didn't help that the screen door was broken. One toilet seat was barely attached...not that that mattered much because that toilet wouldn't flush so didn't get used much during our stay. Other than that, one bed had puke remnants in it and smelled terrible. They did get a new comforter...the tags were still on it. There was a wad of chewed gum on a shelf in a closet, found a pocketknife in a bedroom drawer, a hairbrush between the bed and side table in another bedroom to name a few things. Water pressure is hit and miss except for the master bathroom. We didn't dare use the ceiling fan in the office for fear of it falling and hurting someone. There were not enough towels for 10 people, very few washcloths, no hairdryers and no extra TP. I contacted the host who did bring the missing items, as well as a cover for the stinky bed. He swept a couple of the rooms and wiped one of the bathrooms...not nearly enough considering the filth.
