Dear Guest, this is the text we received from the previous guest who stayed one day before you for 3 nights from December 24 to December 27, 2023. “Thanks for the wonderful stay at your beautiful cottage. We enjoyed our magical Christmas 🎄❤️”. Mind you, the above guests were staying at the property for 3 previous nights (booked through VRBO). The entire house was cleaned and quality control was done before you checked in the next day. To begin with, we are totally disappointed with your reservation. You lied on the number of guests putting in a reservation for 7 guests and instead 11 guests checked in. VRBO was informed about the same and we were advised that we could go ahead and cancel the reservation, as it was a breach of contract. But we decided otherwise and did not want to spoil the vacation for you and your guests. We were totally disappointed at the state of the house when you and your guests left the property. The lower level floors, the counter tops were sticky and greasy with food droppings, milk and cooking oil spilled and with coffee stains on the walls. To add to it, all glassware, cups etc. were used and put back in the cabinets without being washed. All cookware was used and put back in the cabinets with overspilled burnt food marks, without cleaning. We had to replace all the cookware after your stay. The cleaning and disinfecting took more than 12 hours to put the house back to its original form. Pictures of all garbage littered on the floor and cooking utensils and stove burners burnt can be provided. You knew you kept the house dirty and that’s why you mentioned you were looking for cleaning supplies. Why would anyone in this civilized world throw food shavings and garbage all over the house? Garbage bins are provided in all the rooms so that all food litter and garbage can be thrown in the bins and not on carpets and especially the kitchen floors. The left kitchen cabinet door was pulled off its upper hinge which you deny as you went ahead and used the fine China crockery from that specific cabinet. Heating in the house is working fine as we have installed the latest top notch heat pump system. We do not know what exactly you have done to the heating system. Our cleaners observed that all the vents were closed. How is the heating system going to work when you have closed all the vents. We fail to understand this. Additionally, there is no way the thermostat can be set to 0 at midnight or anytime. The water pipes can burst in the house if that ever happens in the winter, incase you are not aware. Since you mentioned that you were feeling cold in the top bedrooms, as a courtesy we provided portable heaters right away. So basically, you had the windows open when the Furnace, portable heaters, and gas fireplace were running in the house at the same time. It is illegal to have cameras inside the house, so your statements of checking video recordings does not make sense either. After you checked out, we received a text sent by you at 9:47 am on January 01, 2024 saying “Hi Basilia, I locked the house.Thank you for arranging everything for the stay.. wish you a happy new year”. So this review of yours is completely false and baseless. It’s only when we questioned you about the filthy house, you came up with all these false allegations. You are not the first guest that we have hosted. We will not let people misuse our property and get away with such type of wrong doings. We value our property to the highest standards and will not compromise on customer satisfaction and quality. So your review is false and does not hold any ground.
