Oldest Town of Cape Cod In The Historic District is a sustainable vacation home in Sandwich, 17 miles from Plimoth Plantation. This property encourages guests to embrace nature with its eco-friendly arrangements. This recently renovated vacation home is located 1.6 miles from Heritage Museums & Gardens and 1.7 miles from Sandwich Glass Museum. There's a sun terrace and guests can use free Wifi and free private parking.

The air-conditioned vacation home consists of 3 bedrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with an oven and a coffee machine, and 1 bathroom with a bath and a hair dryer. A flat-screen TV with streaming services is available. The vacation home offers bed linen, towels, and laundry service.

There are several off-site restaurants, but if you'd prefer to cook your own meal you can make use of the outside grill and eat in the private dining area.

For guests with children, the vacation home features a baby safety gate. If you'd like to discover the area, cycling, fishing, museums, mini-golf, ocean, beaches and much more are possible in the surrounding areas all within a two-mile radius.

The nearest airport is Cape Cod Gateway Airport, 15 miles from the accommodation.

We had a fantastic time at this property in Sandwich. This was a last-minute impromptu fishing trip, and the property was a perfect location, easily accessible to both Cape Cod Bay and Buzzard’s Bay. The host Ed, who lives on the property, was super helpful and responsive. The house is a charming older-style cape house with all the things you will need. I am looking forward to visiting again soon!

Enjoyed our stay. The owner was running a little behind with cleaning before we checked in but that was not really an issue. The living room furniture was not totally comfortable but not bad. I would tell people is to bring your own toilet paper and paper towels; complimentary roll was available but, otherwise, the guest is responsible for those items, so do be aware of that. Overall, the house was clean, nice, near things, easy to get to and I liked it.

If you’re visiting Cape Cod and don’t want to be right on the beach or you can’t afford that, this is the spot. This isn’t a resort or anything outlandish. It’s exactly what we love. What you see is what you get at a great price. It’s perfectly located close to everything. It’s about 30 minutes from every main city or beach on the Cape. We even went to Boston and Newport (just an hour drive). Beds were comfortable and house was great. We traveled to watch the Cape Cod baseball games, and this was a perfect spot. Host was great and made sure we were taken care of throughout the stay. He even had the place ready early for us because we were ahead of schedule getting there. This is the best place we have stayed at in all our travels. I’d give this place a 10 if I could!

Staying at Mr Ed's place was a wonderful experience! The apartment was very clean and the beds are incredibly comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. The house was great, had all the amenities you’d expect, the mini split setup was great for peace of mind with your pets. The location was great and close to a lot of the attractions in Sandwich you would want to go to. Ed was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed.

Perfect for us!

What a charming old house. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the host Ed couldn't have been nicer and greeted us as we arrived. He showed us around and told us about the house. The location was perfect for us to visit our son who is working in the area. House was super clean and our two small under 20lb. (noisy) dogs were welcome. The dresser in the bedroom is the same antique dresser I have at home!! I would stay again. We had fun watching the wild turkeys that were nearby. Thanks again Ed.

Overall, for the price, this was a good stay. The good: Price, friendly owner, clean house, dogs allowed. The bad:There were some parts that were a little much, but I like to think they were one-off situations. In any case, our check-in time was Friday at 4, but we weren’t permitted to enter until 5:30 because of electrical issues. Our checkout time was Monday at 10:00 am, but we were awoken by an electrician at 8 am, and the owner and electrician were in the house until we left. It felt like we were being babysat as we were packing up and getting ready to say goodbye to each other. The lock was difficult to use and we often got locked out of the house. A lot of things in the house are locked — the AC temperatures, downloading apps on the tv (nothing crazy, I think it was just Hulu or something). A mouse ran across the kitchen counter one night, but we didn’t see it again once we hid any food in the fridge. Pests are unavoidable in an old cape house though. I hate giving tough reviews like this, especially when the owner was so nice, but I feel like for other people like us who might be going on their annual family vacation, it’s important to know what you’re staying at. Again, overall, we had a great time, that’s why I gave 4 stars.

Ed is a very nice man. The house is rustic, which I enjoyed. The location was perfect for proximity to the event I was attending. Regrettably, these were the only positive things about my visit. What to know before booking this rental: 1. The house is difficult to navigate if you have any mobility issues (1" floor height difference between rooms, laundry located in low ceiling basement, treacherous stairs, complicated door lock, one bathroom on second floor) 2. I arrived after a long journey for posted check in at 4:00pm, but Ed did not leave the unit until 6:30pm and it still wasn't cleaned sufficiently. 3. It is not mentioned, but Ed lives about 50 feet from the rental house with no privacy. I would not have booked this rental had I known the owner could observe me due to a prior bad experience. 4. The heat/AC system (mini splits) is locked by the landlord. I could adjust the heat between 62 and 70. I could not turn off the heat/ turn on the AC/ increase the heat without making a phone call to Ed to change it from his phone. This was very inconvenient as I visited during the season change and required AC one day and heat the next. 5. Be sure to indicate you need each of the three bedrooms. Ed locked the bedrooms that wont be in use. I had to specifically request access to the additional bedrooms on the second day for friends to stay. 6. Kitchen dishes/ utensils were dusty and greasy, and linens had hair in them. A professional cleaner between visitors would be a big help.
The thermostats are next to the units and locked. You have to sit beneath them if you want to be comfortable in the drafty house. You must call (not text) to change the temperature.

This house is 100 years old. My original bathtub (kitchen sink) continues to survive. My mother was born in 1935 in the upstairs bathroom. In 2003 I completed a course in both Property Management and Real Estate Investing. After retirement, I made my decision to be a host in 2019 having a minimum review of 4.88 from over 150 reviews.

We are centrally located 1 mile from the Sagamore Bridge and 3.5 miles from the Bourne Bridge and to many events for example, we have hosted 4 repeated fishing reservations for the past 3 years. Guest come here to attend weddings at the Heritage Garden 3 miles away as well as attending graduations at the Mass Maritime Academy 7 miles away. Additionally, many travelers use our accommodation to be 48 miles closer to Logan Airport for their departure flights. We also have direct bus runs to both airports from here.
