We had such a wonderful time in the farm house. It was so rich with history and was the perfect home for our family. The house is so charming and the property is beautiful and serene!Amy and Paul were easy to get a hold of and responded quickly to questions.

Wonderful Big Farmhouse!

There was plenty of room for our extended family during our long weekend stay. Big living room to spend time together, but plenty of smaller areas for private time. Very convenient location and nice and quiet.

Incredibly beautiful in Fall!

My family had such a wonderful time enjoying this space and property. The house was quaint, but what made our stay was the yard. There's so much space for lawn games and an awesome fire pit. The flower garden is stunning, and during the autumn, the leaves and scenery are incredible!

VT wedding weekend

Great Place To Meet with Friends

Place was great! Much bigger than even the pictures can show. Plenty of room to fit 12 people easily. The griddle/stove in the kitchen was added bonus. So much so that my wife is looking to upgrade at our own home.

Great house for large group, plenty of room!

This historical house was just perfect for our two families! Three living areas, large dinning room n kitchen! Comfy beds and no waiting with 4 batrooms! It met all our needs for our winter ski trip! Plenty of outdoor space for the kids to run and explore! Owner was very accommodating and helpful!

Old friends gathering. (Our 39th gathering)

Beautiful property, clean ample rooms, lovely antiques. Hot showers. 2 nice fireplaces & a cozy enameled propane stove.Grocery stores & gas stations readily available.(a little hard to find when the driveway is snow covered, but the location is superb - close but not in the touristy town of Manchester.)

Incredible house on sprawling grounds

Great house for 14 visitors and a stove to keep up with the demands. Beautiful grounds with apple trees and mountains all around. 20 minute drive to the Dorset Quarry which is a must do. All you would expect of a house in Vermont, stone fireplaces and plenty of fresh air.

Awesome Manchester area family getaway!

I highly recommend this beautiful 7-bedroom farmhouse near Manchester. The town was a short drive away, where we shopped and enjoyed awesome food. The grounds were gorgeous, and the neighbor who makes the maple syrup is very friendly. Inside, the place is decorated with antiques and furniture that transports you back to the 1800s. We made pancakes on the Wolf stove mentioned in the description, which was fun. It is a truly wonderful getaway that we won't forget.

Weekend wedding

We came to Vermont for a wedding and stayed here. The house is huge and has so much charm. The kitchen is equipped with lots of dishes, utensils, pots and pans. My only suggestion is they send out the contract that needs to have everyone’s names ,ages and birthdates and the list of rules earlier than a week before your trip.

We're now VT lovers thanks to this idyllic charmer

Our three generations stayed here for a spring week in May and had a wonderful time. The house is a real charmer and the grounds were wonderful. So peaceful and quiet. We played croquet, sat on the porch and gazed at Mount Equinox and had a wonderful relaxing week. We even bought maple syrup from the neighbor across the street and he gave us a tour of his sugar house! Everything exceeded our expectations. Thanks, Paul, for helping us fall in love with VT. We hope to return in the fall.

Historic accomadations

This is an very very old farmhouse with a lot of charm. Each room was decorated differently, and there were so many different area's to sit and talk. The wifi was very strong, and easy to connect to. My only disappointment is we didn't have enough time to sit out on the front porch and rock on the beautiful rocking chairs. We were only there for a short weekend for a family wedding. Knowing ahead of time about the hot water supply, we had a good schedule for our large family to all be ready for the wedding.

Family Reunion Thanksgiving

This is a very charming very old home with a nice big yard. My siblings and I hosted Thanksgiving dinner with all of our adult kids. It was a special time for all. This house is very old and needs to be handled with care. There are the expected glitches here and there but the owner is super responsive and easy to deal with. We had a great time and would happily visit again!

Nice and big house

We liked the house. It is an old house and you can tell, but we knew that going in. The Paul Foucher, the property manager (or owner) was very helpful and understanding. We were a big group with kids and we had a great time. The only thing I could say it needs improvement are some of the chairs in the house are very old and brittle, and the house could be cleaner (there were a lot of dust in the drawers, crib, under and next to the beds, etc.).

Great home for a big family Christmas

We booked this house for us to spend Christmas with our children and grandchildren. We ranged in age from 1-1/2 to 62 years old. A wonderful, cozy house with plenty of room for all 11 of us with 2 dogs. Even the dogs had a blast playing outside in the snow! We had both fireplaces going constantly with wood that I preordered from Equinox Nursery. Paul was very responsive to all questions, and a neighbor quickly took care of the driveway when it got icy. All in all, a great visit and beautiful part of the country!

Family Trip

We enjoyed our stay immensely! The house had plenty of space for all including our 2 dogs and we especially loved the fireplaces and the gas stove in the kitchen which created a nice warm feeling. The 2 full bathrooms really should be pictured on the website because they were very attractively decorated and cozy. We were not sure what to expect there but were pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately there really was not much snow due to a warm snap but the skiers were able to get in a half day at Bromley while the non-skiers spent time at the Equinox Spa along with lunch and shopping in town at the many outlets. We could have used a few more pots, pans and utensils since we are a family that does a lot of cooking but overall we had a great time and would recommend!

Beautiful historic house, could use some TLC

Pros: We had a lovely week here. There was plenty of room for 6 working adults to spread out in different corners and not interrupt one another during the day and the lightening fast internet served us well. We enjoyed convening in the "red room" for cocktails around the fireplace at the end of the day. Beautiful area. The high power gas stove was a treat to cook on. The house is a colonial gem with historically accurate paint colors and tons of charm. Cons: The owners are long distance and it shows. The linens are bleach splattered, the towels are covered in hanging threads. Whoever is managing the property for them should communicate these needs. No basic pantry essentials, prepare to bring everything. Nor any of the kitchen extras that people who like to cook would appreciate (no blender, no measuring utensils, one fraying kitchen towel). The water hoses to the washer are flipped so that hot and cold are swapped, meaning that the "rinse" mode is scalding hot. The hot water runs out quickly. The master bedroom has a comfortable mattress but the rest of the beds are uncomfortable. This is mentioned in the captions of the photos, but I did not appreciate just how markedly different some of the rooms would be from how they are pictured. Salt would be appreciated for the walkway into the house - it was completely iced over when we arrived and made for tricky entry into the house. Given that fires are necessary to keep the rooms habitable, it would be nice if firewood were provided. Overall: We enjoyed our time here and with some TLC this house would really shine. Our experience was overall a positive one, but we wouldn't return in its current state.

HI Liz- Thanks for your review and I am glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate the constructive feedback. I am ordering new towels and linens - I have had a lot of guests these past few months and the wear and tear on those items must be showing. I apologize for the iciness of the entryway - I have addressed that with my service and they are now salting twice a week and more when it storms. I will get some extra kitchen items. I saw it was single digits some of the nights you were there - I did have some firewood in the Barn - It is possible my prior guest used it all up. I will have a plumber investigate the clothes washer so they can fix that hot rinse issue. The hot water heater will run out of hot water if a couple long hot showers are taken back to back - typically takes 20-30 minutes of downtime to get the water hot again on cold winter days. Yes, I am remote and due to Covid have not been to the house as frequently as usual, so am relying on others to update me. I am headed there in March for a full inspection. Thanks again for this feedback!

Great Family Getaway

This property was perfect for our family. There was so much space and we were all so comfortable - due to the freezing temperatures we actually never left the house for the weekend and we had a blast. So much quality time - the house is well equipped with everything needed for all.

Family Gathering/Ski Trip

I booked this property for a trip with my wife, our kids, and our extended family. The description of the property was accurate and Paul was very kind and responsive throughout the process from booking to checkout. Our stay was great, the house is absolutely gorgeous and the colonial-era architecture was a huge hit with us. We had 10 adults, 3 kids and a dog and the property easily accommodated us all. Location is great for skiing at the Southern VT ski areas especially Bromley and Stratton. I expect we'll be repeat customers!

Rustic Vermont Loveliness

We had a lovely stay in this home. It is very large and can accommodate a big group comfortably. We had some problems with the propane fireplace which was unfortunate as it left the kitchen area unbearably cold at times. The owner did send someone out twice, but a part needed to be ordered so what can you do. Also, the one fireplace that is in the most comfortable gathering space doesn’t work so fires weren’t really a sensible option. Otherwise, it has everything you need to cook and serve many people. This is a rustic house but the epitome of Vermont.

So sorry my gas company could not get the propane fireplace in the kitchen to work consistently, and the part needed did not arrive in time for your stay. Some guests like to stoke up the 2 fireplaces in the dining room and red room.
