The Silo is a place where nature, country&modern touches meet in the mountains of Harpers Ferry West Virginia! Here you’ll experience staying in a fully renovated silo grain bin while enjoying the sounds of nature in the woods. Located just 8 minutes from Harpers Ferry National Park, Harpers Ferry Brewing, Harpers Ferry Adventures, Maryland Heights hiking trail&the Historic "low town" area, it's the perfect lodging location for the adventurous traveler after exploring all the town has to offer. Our property was built with the unique, adventurous, down to earth, out of box, nature loving traveler in mind. Our property has untraditional and outdoorsy lodging elements.
If you have a more city, hotel or traditional lodging preference, we invite you to seek other accommodation options in the area as that is not the target market for an enjoyable stay at the silo.

Adorable property, close to downtown Harper’s Ferry, the brewery and Maryland Heights. Property was very well stocked. Our only complaints were the jagged/sharp edges of the sheet metal in the shower. The mattress was also quite uncomfortable. Otherwise, we would greatly enjoyed our stay!

The silo was cute. A little small for our liking, but it was a place to rest our heads. The location was excellent and fairly close to hiking, biking trails, as well as the towns near by.

A very unique place to stay! It was clean and well stocked, nicely decorated. It was easy to find and no issue with parking. We didn’t have time to use the sauna and couldn’t get a good fit going in the pit, so didn’t use all of the amenities.

This place was nice but more like glamping. The property really looked a bit worn. Just an fyi. When it rains you hear every raindrop. The shower is a little weird set up. Stairway to the bedroom was a bit weary. A sliding gate or rail for the upstairs so no one would tumble down the stairs. We stayed 4 nights. It is close to a lot activities and towns.

Cozy and clean. The decor was very pleasant and everything worked as advertised. We had a lovely post Christmas, pre New Year retreat. Wonderful time and great location!!

Pros- close to activities, cute home, large outdoor area, supplied coffee & variety of shower soaps. Great water pressure in shower. Fire pit was nice, need to take kindling. Bathrobes provided. Cons- stairs are treacherous. Railing is not attached properly. Weeds are taking over property. Walkway is hard to walk on. AC unit works but VERY loud right beside bed. We were only allowed 1 towel & 1 washcloth for 3 night stay. I asked for more, was told no. Had to sweep patio and clean outdoor table before using. Could use more shelves, small table in shower & bedroom. Plenty of spoons & forks, but, only 2 knives. Maybe someone stole some??? Nice for 2 people, but, would be very tight for 4.

We needed a place to land for one night during our drive from Maine to Georgia and the Silo was perfect! Very cute and the upstairs bed was very comfy. It’s a bit tight for a third adult on the sleeper but worked out fine for us. We absolutely loved Harper’s Ferry and certainly wished we had more time to spend here!

Silo retreat

Very nice place. Staying in a silo was a unique experience. It snowed while we were there and it was beautiful. We would definitely stay again. There is a lot to see and do in Harper's Ferry and the surrounding area.

The property was as described but there were no cleaning supplies or extra shower towels/wash cloths. Also the keurig pod in the machine was still filled with old coffee and the pullout mattress downstairs had dirty sheets on them.

Perfect “Little” Stay!

My daughter and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. It was such a great location and the sweetest house. The house was incredibly unique, clean and had a great outdoor space. The only thing guest should plan additionally for is the cell phone service. Verizon costumers may find the service spotty in the Harpers Ferry location so take pictures or write down the check in information.

The banister was loose in two place. At the bottom. The first one, and further up. Felt dangerous.No stool to reach glasses on shelf. I could reach mugs, but had to climb on a stool to get a glass. Did not feel like a safe option.The hot water ran out after 1 shampoo. I was not in long, hadn’t had a chance to wash my body.Loved everything else! Great design, plenty of amenities, and the sauna was a great bonus.

Not quite what we were expecting. It did not seem very clean when we arrived. Windows were smeared, the floors were dirty, and some clear mold in the shower. The steps were slanted and unfinished. And while the host told us 10 minute showers were expected, after several tries, it seemed like we got a max of 3 minutes of hot water with each shower before we lost hot water. While we were disappointed, the silo was still decorated very cute and the outside amenities helped us enjoy our time.

We have a clear and accurate description of our experience and pictures of all aspects of accommodations for guests to view prior to booking. We decline the mold accusation as it is completely untrue. Kate and guests left the silo in inconsiderate shape including leaving things on food everywhere including under the couch. Lost our ac unit remote and broke our outdoor fire pit storage bin. It appears this stay was not a good for either parties. Those who thouroughly read our luxury camping experience description we provide in our listing are the happiest guests.

Cute, but could use some improvements.

This is a very cute place in a lovely, quiet setting. I loved the fresh spring water in the fridge. Kitchen stocked well. I wish it had not been pouring so we could have enjoyed the outdoor living area. Upgrades would have made the stay much more comfortable. The stairs are very scary. They lean down with railings that are wobbly and so far away from the steps that you have to sit at the top of the steps to safely start your descent. The corregated metal in the shower is awesome, but please cover the sharp edges that are so easy to cut a naked body. A stool or something in the bathroom to use as counter space would be great. If advertising this place is made for up to 4 people, you should get a larger hot water heater or in-line water heater. There was only enough hot water for 1 of us to take a shower in the morning. This made for a very unpleasant morning. Provide some hand towels or more bath towels as they get wet quickly. A bigger TV and more supportative couch would be great. A place to hang wet coats would be helpful. Larger night stands that can handle a glass of water and a charging phone would be great or hang the side table lights for more room. The pillows were flat as pancakes and the bed was uncomfortable The plates were dirty and had some sort of wet goo in them. I was afraid to use a cup for fear the shelf would fall off the wall. For as much as you are charging per night, these simple upgrades would go a long way to improve the experience.

Cet endroit était un oasis de paix! Facile d'acces grace aux instructions, j'ai pu apprécier le cadre environnant. J'ai trouve tout ce dont j'avais besoin dans la cuisine et la salle de bain. J'ai occasionnellement utilise et apprécie le chauffage dans les murs et la climatisation tres efficaces. Je me suis sentie comme chez moi!

Pictures on internet were very nice and clean. Upon arriving was a different case property had junk behind the silo walkway was not stable uneven round rocks to walk on especially for the distance from the parking.. upon entering the silo not clean shower contained mold, and mildew dead flies on floor. Handrails on stairs not stable some very wobbly each stair has it’s own rail handle. Very unkept outside.
