🌊 Welcome to Tots Cabin, a century-old lakefront retreat completely rebuilt in 2011 to preserve all of Tot`s charm while adding the comforts of modern living. It is privately set beside a wood-edged meadow and overlooks its own private cove on Mallet`s Bay.
🏡 The single-story ranch has an open living room and kitchen, the original wood-burning fireplace, and double French doors that open onto a wonderful screened porch with beautiful water views and a dining table that seats 8. The porch is the heart of the house and is a perfect gathering space all night with steady lake breezes throughout the summer.
☀️ Adjoining the porch is a spacious 600-square-foot sun deck overlooking Tots Cove. It receives morning sun and continues to shine throughout the afternoon, making it an ideal spot for relaxing, reading, or gathering after a day on the water.
🛏️ There are two large queen bedrooms with pine walls and water views, a roomy double twin bedroom, and a small full-bedroom off the meadow that once was Great Granny Tot`s space. The fourth bedroom is small and best suited for one guest.
🚤 A 200-foot long dock extends into deeper water, providing the property’s best swimming access and space to enjoy the lake. The shoreline is sandy, although the shallow cove has a natural silt and clay bottom, so most guests prefer swimming from the dock. Two kayaks and two paddleboards are available for exploring the cove, and fishing is excellent.
🌿 Tots is located at Braeloch, a private residential community. Guests may also enjoy the nearby community tennis, pickleball and basketball courts (racquets are provided).
🍳 The kitchen includes a farmhouse sink, dishwasher, cooking island, and a generous selection of cookware and utensils. The home also has excellent fiber-optic Wi-Fi & a smart television for streaming
Tots Cabin feels wonderfully secluded, surrounded by hundreds of acres to explore, yet it is only about 20 minutes from downtown Burlington. Don`t leave fires unattended Drive slow in Braeloch. Crawl around the white farmhouse at the curve pls (10MPH) If you move furniture, please replace

Om værten
Vært: Johnny Walker
Braeloch is a 6th generation community founded by George Dick Finlay who emigrated from Glasgow Scotland when he was 6 years old in the mid 1800's. He grew up and worked for an important Railroad Baron when he came across 300 acres with 2.5 miles of shoreline near Burlington, VT. Scouting it out for his patriarch - at that time Burlington was something of a summer social scene for the billionaire set - George toured what would become "Braeloch" only to report that "there was nothing much to see", all the while holding an intent to purchase contract in his coat pocket.
The Finlay's did buy all 300 acres and they did name it Braeloch (gaelic for "Hill - Lake") and they raised their four daughters and one son there. "Granny Tot" was the great grandmother of the brothers who still own this treasure along with two other nearby properties.
Derfor valgte værten dette overnatningssted
Brealoch is the same as it was when George Finlay bought it in 1896. It hasn't changed. Even many of the houses are unchanged, albeit renovated. What you will see when you visit Braeloch is how Vermont was for hundreds of years before paved roads and street corners pervaded our every vantage.
What you will not see is anyone else, except the occasional neighbor who walks their dog along the "Brealoch Loop" which does run by Tots Cabin.
Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt
Tots Cabin is restorative. Our brother's story is a good way to explain this. He is a law partner who works 60 hours a week and can afford to spend his vacation anywhere in the world yet he spends every August at Tots for this simple reason; it connects him to an older world that knows only of dancing fireflies and the orchestra of frogs and how to sleep deeply after an exhaustive day on the bay.
The kids love to play in the sand on the beach and everyone loves to swim off the rocks and explore. I love coffee in the morning overlooking the meadow and tennis after 4pm (it gets hot during the day). My wife loves board games on the porch after dinner. Everyone can find something to do at Tots.
