We had a great stay! The view was amazing and the condo itself was better than the pictures on line. The owners were great with giving us a lot of information on where to go and things to do. The location was in a great spot and it seemed like most attractions were about 15 minutes away. We would highly recommend it!

Ocean Beach Jewel!

This Condo provides a perfect location for looking to the ocean and experiencing the sounds of the waves crashing below. It never gets old being on the balcony and enjoying morning coffee and evening cocktails watching the amazing sunsets. The Condo is equipped with everything that you will need for your stay. Ocean Beach and Newport Avenue is about a 15 minute walk and the Farmers Market on Wednesdays is great fun. You cannot go wrong with staying at this Condo!

The view is magnificent. Watch pelicans, dolphins, etc. all day. And being above the waves means it’s not booming with the doors open. The parking garage is super, with an elevator. Friends easily found close parking during summer. Everything you need to buy or do is nearby, a few minutes away. :)

We agree--the location is great! The ocean, coastal hikes, beach combing, shops, restaurants, and bars are all either right outside the doors, or no more than half a mile away.

Better than expected!!

The pictures don’t do it justice. The view was breathe taking. We had fog 1morning but others that that the view was great. The sunsets were spectacular. The condo is well decorated and very light and open. Restaurants and shops in the local neighborhood all within walking! We will come back again! Love our stay. Thank you!!

Perfect spot in Sunset Cliffs!

Being right on the ocean to watch the surfers and see the sun set each evening before heading out to dinner was amazing! It's also a super convenient location to everything fun to do in San Diego.

Location, Location, Location

My adult son and I spent eight days at this property, and it was an excellent place for our reunion. The neighborhood itself is quiet, but only a few blocks away from the hip area of Ocean Beach, full of bars, restaurants, and beaches. The beds were comfy, the towels fluffy, and the views from the balcony unbeatable. I can't comment on the kitchen appliances, coffee maker, pots, and pans as we didn't use any. Bring along soap, shampoo, etc., as there was none when we arrived.

Thank you for the nice review. I'm sorry there wasn't soap or shampoo for your use. Soap bars should have been put out by our cleaning staff--I'll contact them as to what happened. As for shampoo, because everyone has their preferred type, we haven't make that a staple of our supplies. We'll add shampoo to our list of supplies to make sure there is some for our future guests who don't happen to bring their own.

THIS IS THE PLACE!

If you want to stay in Ocean Beach, this is the place to be. The views are even better than in the photos, and you can pretty much walk to anything you want to do in the area. The owner was extremely nice and easy to work with.

Ocean beach - Great getaway

The condo is in a very good location; it is clean and large, We were a family of four adults and plenty of space to move around and share moments together on the balcony watching the sunset. Local eatery is fantastic, I would suggest Nico's Mexican and Luigi Pizza; the people are friendly and I would not hesitate to return.

Fantastic Vacation

We had an amazing stay at this oceanfront condo! The host was fantastic, always attentive and helpful. The view from the balcony was breathtaking, and the condo was spotlessly clean. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this place!

5 Star Ocean View

This condo had many things going for it, but the main attraction was the direct ocean view and the continuous lulling sounds of ocean waves. Central location and good walking neighborhood. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Owners were responsive.

The condo does sit right on the cliffs with an unobstructed view of the sights (and sounds) of the Pacific Ocean. For the beach-goers, there are several pocket beaches just a few blocks away, or the big beach in Ocean Beach (OB), just a half mile away. We provide the towels and beach chairs--you just need to bring the sunscreen. As this client mentioned, OB is a great walking neighborhood with its restaurants for everyone’s tastes--from burgers to upscale cuisine and many shops. And if you don’t want to drive to the big grocery chains, there’s a great deli with groceries less than a half mile away. Everything is close and convenient, and oh so nice.

Fabulous view

We loved our stay and spent many a happy hour on the balcony watching the sunset with pelican and surfer spotting added in. The property has everything you need and it was great listening to the waves crashing whilst going to sleep. We liked the location as it is convenient for getting around anywhere in San Diego whilst seeming a world away from city life.

On the ocean

The balcony over looking the shore of the pacific made for a grand location. The comfortable accommodations with many amenities added made this day even better. The host were very accommodating and concerned about our enjoyment and welfare. Highly recommend this place

As this client mentions, the balcony is hard to beat! It’s 20 feet down to the patio, and then another 40 feet down to the water. The crash of the waves on the cliffs makes a great soothing sound with which to fall asleep--especially after one of the bottles of the complementary wine or a few of the San Diego craft beers we always leave for our renters.

Ocean on your doorstep

As our guest remarked, "This condo isn't so much on the ocean as IN it!". It must have among the finest water views in San Diego. Truly mesmerizing.

Wonderful Condo!

My husband and I had a great time at Barbara and Donn's condo overlooking Sunset Cliffs. The balcony and views are awesome. This was our second stay at their condo and we love the location. Close to everything and it's so convenient that they have parking in the condo's garage. Plus, did I mention they are super nice people providing us with a welcoming gift upon our arrival? Enjoy!

Ocean View like no other!

What an experience to have the breathtaking view of the ocean. The sound of the ocean is like no other sound. Upgraded bathrooms and kitchen made my stay so very comfortable. Very private location on a dead end street. Can walk to get to all shopping, restaurants, etc. in Ocean Beach. Cannot wait to stay again.

The amazing sounds and the views of the ocean, along with all the creatures swimming and flying past our balcony, are what sold us on this place. And being less than half a mile away from the restaurants and shops of OB has been the 'frosting on the cake'. We're glad you found our place as relaxing and desirable as we have.

A Room with a View

What a beautiful unit. So private and the ocean views are spectacular. The pictures in VRBO are exactly as they are. Listening to the ocean waves crashing on the rocks was so soothing. I couldn’t get to sleep when I got home as I missed those sounds. The unit had everything anyone would need for a vacation get away. Definitely want to come back again.

The edge of the world

Peaceful, serene, very private and relaxing. A perfect getaway from the stress of every day life. Donn and Barb were responsive and knowledgeable in helping us maneuver through the unfortunate political and social climate. Great place to stay

Very nice condo for up to four people. Fabulous location, very close to a lot of great restaurants and beaches. Easy trip to get into San Diego and all San Diego has to offer. We were there during the impending hurricane and they were enormously helpful and worked with their next guests to have an extra night there if we could not get a flight out sooner. They responded quickly and showed a lot of concern for our safety and comfort. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay. Ocean Beach is charming. We did rent a car and found having our own car very helpful.

Wonderful experience

The magic of this condo is the beauty and sound of the breaking surf against the rocks 100 feet directly below. Listening to this and feeling the cool ocean breeze made sleeping uniquely a wonderful joy.! Everything within the condo was equal to any fine hotel. There is no beach below but to us that was a big advantage. We shall return.

It’s nice that the word “magic” was used in this review, for it truly is a magical place. The sights, the sounds, the cool breezes, and the high quality bed and sheets all help our guests get a great night sleep. And although there is no beach directly below, there are two small beaches 3 blocks away, and the mile long beach in Ocean Beach is just 7 blocks away. The beaches are great for swimming, surfing, or just wandering along the sand and ocean.

We are both educators. We started our careers in Ohio, spent 10 years in Wyoming, and eventually moved to San Diego in 1990. Although we love to travel, once you visit here you'll see why we now live in San Diego. We now spend the winter months in the condo and the rest of the year traveling and living in Colorado.

Being teachers for over 30 years, we know how important it is to get away from 'normal life' and forget about work while relaxing in a new environment. We looked for a condo in San Diego for over 2 years before finding this gem. Ocean breezes, the sound of the waves, pelicans being so close that you can almost touch them, and the closeness to so many attractions make this a great place to live.

It takes about 1 minute to walk to the closest beach (just the time to walk down the stairs). A five minute walk south takes you to the Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, and a five minute walk north takes you to downtown Ocean Beach, one of the most famous and unique communities in San Diego. With its farmer's market / street fair every Wednesday, it's a great place to pick up flowers, locally grown food, snacks, and see live entertainment.
