Located on Leonard Lake, this 2BR waterfront retreat is the ideal choice for a tranquil getaway. Nestled on a 1.5-acre wooded lot, your vacation rental has a private dock for fishing and swimming, a firepit, and a gas grill. With stunning sunsets from the dock and amazing views from within the home, you find yourself surrounded by quiet while within the city. A perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

When you want to explore, downtown Ellsworth is 5 minutes away, while Acadia National Park is 30 minutes from home.

Unwind on the sectional in the sunlit living area, which has an electric fireplace and a smart TV.

KITCHEN & DINING

The updated kitchen is appointed with a full suite of stainless steel appliances, ample counter space, and a four-person kitchen bar.

This home sleeps four guests in two bedrooms.

The primary bedroom has a king bed, while the second bedroom has two twin beds. The bathroom is configured with a walk-in shower.

The wooded backyard features a shady oasis to sit & enjoy blissful days. A private dock is perfect for fishing and swimming. Take the provided kayaks out on the lake.

The house was cozy and inviting. We loved the view out back! The path is well lit to walk to the pier. The harvest moon occurred during our stay and it was an amazing view off the pier. The house had everything we needed and is the perfect location for day trips around the area. A basket of brochures and travel books helped tremendously while we planned our day trips. Thank you for a great stay!

Beautiful and tranquil lake home. All the necessities were there. Owners left a wonderful booklet on places to eat and shop- was very helpful! Momo’s cheesecake was fantastic! Highly recommend! Helen’s restaurant was yummy!

Amazing lake house! The place was very spacious, incredibly clean, well maintained, so many amenities including a fully stocked kitchen, kayaks and more. We will for sure be back someday!

This is a beautiful home, clean, and peaceful location. Home is right on the lake and even though we didn't get a chance to use the kayaks it was nice to look out at the lake and sit on the dock. Easy to get to and very close to restaurants and other shopping. Acadia National Park about 35 minute drive and well worth the drive. Host leaves recommendations for local spots and other travel brochures. Host sent instructions on a timely manner and responded quickly to any questions that we had. Highly recommend this home and would definitely return for a another stay. Thank you again for the use of your lovely home.

Perfect for the weekend

Was great, little kayaking, fishing, fire pit with the family and short drive to Cadillac Mountain and Bar Harbor. I would definitely repeat very clean and well taken care of property as advertised

Very comfortable

The home is very comfortable and had everything we needed. It is in a beautiful setting, at least when looking at the lake. The drive to Acadia was longer than I expected, but worth it since the house is so lovely! I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Bar harbor trip

We took a Trip to bar harbor/ Acadia. Drive was about a half hour to bar harbor from the house. House was super clean and beds were comfortable. Very quiet location and loved the little dock to fish on. We were out and about most of the time, wish we had more time to enjoy the house !

Beautiful location

The house is located right near the downtown area and the lake behind the house provides a great view from the living room and kitchen. The house was very clean and had all we needed to enjoy our vacation in Maine! Thank you for a wonderful visit.

Beautiful

The view was beautiful of the lake. The home was extremely clean and had everything that we needed. I took advantage of the kayaks and just drifted on the lake drinking Champagne. Town is a mile away so it was an easy walk. Best lobster restaurant at end of street. Loved this gem

GORGEOUS!!

The home was absolutely beautiful! It was very clean, updated appliances, Towels, cook-wear, dish-wear... All amenities were well thought out and much appreciated. Grill and firepit outside and the lake was super nice, too, with a nice dock and kayaks for use if you wanted! I would definitely recommend. Thank you to the property owners ♥

House is awesome location not so much.

Looked like there was a dump on the other side of the road. Parking was sparse. Don’t get local channels so not football!!! Pick the house up and move it somewhere else and get local channels.

Pleasant Stay

We had a pleasant stay at Leonard Lake. What was great was the place was well equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. From the kitchen pots and pans to the outdoor chairs. The lake was beautiful and having use of the firepit was great. The only issue we had was the acorns dropping from the oak trees at night on the roof, which kept us awake and we came away with a few dents on the hood of our car. It would have been helpful if we were warned about the acorns. In the fall guests should back in and park more on the right of the house to avoid most of the acorns.

lovely view in a quiet neighborhood

No close neighbors. Great windows - felt like being in the woods. Loved the lighted make-up mirror in the master bedroom. Beds were very comfortable. Quick drive to town. Close to other attractions such as Bar Harbor. Well stocked with supplies with 2 exceptions. A box of Kleenex is always helpful. And there was a shortage of hangers for our clothes. Both bedrooms have window air conditioners. But the one in the master bedroom has flimsy and poorly fitting barriers on either side of the a.c. and doesn't keep out the bugs or the cool weather very well. Was looking forward to using the kayaks, but access to the lake to launch them was problematic. Communication with property management was mostly easy and smooth. Did try to put the trash out for collection Sunday night for Monday a.m. pick up as instructed. We saw the garbage truck come and empty the other trash cans, but not ours. Contacted management and were told that they would take care of it, but did not. Finally, be aware that the street is very rough and very narrow. A lot of trucks were going down the street at a high rate of speed.

A very quaint and cozy house. Beautiful view of Lake Leonard. Very close to Ellsworth. The owner's had a detailed sheet of places to go and eat. Momo's cheesecake was delicious. Union River Lobster Pot was spot on for lobster. We also enjoyed Helen's. We would definitely stay again.

Very convenient location and nice lake view. Less than desirable properties surrounding the home, unfortunately.All VRBO properties we have stayed at had some kind of welcome basket - this did not. No contact info for the owner inside, which would have been handy. It definitely felt like more of a rental, rather than a home away from home.

We had a wonderful stay at the Leonard Lake House. It is really beautiful, comfortable and clean. The view of the lake is superb and we loved hearing the loons. The house is in a great location to visit any part of Mt Desert island. The hosts are very kind and considerate. We hope to come back another time.

Gateway to Acadia

Quiet clean comfortable home in Ellsworth, a quaint town a short trip to Mount desert Island and Acadia national Park. The town is worth the trip and the lake is quiet and peaceful. If Acadia is your goal this is easy access to the island. The property is as described clean and easy to access. The host responsive and accommodating. Would happily stay again if on another trip to Acadia

I am a high school teacher in the KC area and my wife is a Pharmacist working in an outpatient hospital pharmacy. We have traveled the coast of Maine for years and love our second home - Ellsworth, ME. Though we don't live in the area full time, we have been apart of the Downeast community for 20+ years. We have owned several properties here and love to share all the wonders of Maine with our friends and family. It truly is a special place. We love Ellsworth, and think our little town is a fantastic place to live, work, and visit. We are pretty meticulous about the upkeep of our homes, and we work very hard to ensure our guests feel comfortable while staying here. We believe our guest they will find our lakeside homes to be a peaceful place to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring all the area has to offer.

Leonard Lake is a hidden gem, right in the heart of Ellsworth. This lake is so quiet and peaceful, you rarely see anyone on the water. As one of the only waterfront homes on the lake, we feel like its our own private place to fish, kayak or swim.

This cozy home was originally built in 1964. We bought the home from the original owners and did a complete gut and remodel down to the studs. Every inch of the home is new, and we have put in many personal touches that define Maine's quality of life and immense beauty. Additionally, the home is so close to the water, you feel like you can almost touch it from the any of the windows. The firepit and patio area are perfect for gathering with family and enjoying the beautiful sunsets over the water.
