Cottages of Romar is a great beachside community with a nice community pool. Our cottage had a nice large wrap around porch that was fun to sit on and everyone stayed very comfortably inside with comfortable beds and adequate space. We would definitely stay here again!

The house was beautiful and perfectly suited for our family’s needs. Beds were all very comfortable. We really enjoyed the location and the ocean view from the home was incredible. We walked to the beach nearly every single day, took two minutes tops from bottom step to water’s edge! Lovely little community, and uniquely interesting pool!

We loved our stay. This is our second time at Cottages at Romar but our first stay in this home. We loved the wrap around porch, pool area and the beach. The home had ample kitchen supplies for our meals at home (and every appliance you’d ever need), washer and dryer and ample hot water for multiple showers in a row. Don’t hesitate to book here!

We thoroughly enjoyed this house and its location. The house was very clean and comfortable. If we had any questions or concerns, the Kaiser management responded quickly. Being able to walk to the beach in just a few minutes was a real bonus! The wrap around porch was wonderful especially since we could see the beach from it.

Beach side location with a short walk and a private neighborhood pool made for a great vacation for our family. The house has a nice wrap around porch to enjoy the breeze and overall was a great place to explore orange beach and gulf shores. Host was communicative with helpful details.

The 2nd night we were there we experienced EXTENSIVE amounts of condensation and black microbial growth throughout the entire unit. It began causing some health issues for us so we elected to check out and relocate to another property. They attempted to clean and cover up the issues but never actually solved the problem. We requested a true assessment of the issue and the qualifications of who actually assessed and determined the issues were corrected - they were non-responsive. We requested to negotiate a refund (even if just a partial) due to the circumstances and they couldn’t have been more unconcerned. The pictures and description couldn’t be more inaccurate of the actual condition. We stayed in this unit 12 years ago and LOVED it then - sadly, it has drastically declined.

We’re sorry that this stay did not meet your expectations. However, we do want to clarify several points for future guests reading this review. When the reported concerns were brought to our attention, our management team promptly inspected and addressed the areas identified. The conditions found were localized discoloration/surface growth and condensation around portions of the HVAC registers, not evidence of widespread mold contamination. The localized condensation and discoloration occurred around portions of the HVAC registers, where temperature differences between the cold conditioned air and the surrounding warmer, humid air can result in moisture accumulating around the registers. The affected areas were cleaned, and we have photographs documenting the condition of the property and the same HVAC registers following our response. We also conduct thorough property inspections between every stay and had hosted 24 parties at the property this year without similar or concerning feedback, resulting in 10/10 reviews from each past guest. We take any report regarding the condition of our property seriously and responded accordingly. While we regret that you chose to end your stay, we believe the reported conditions were appropriately addressed and that the property remained clean, safe, and habitable. We also respectfully disagree with the characterization that we were “unconcerned” or that we attempted to “cover up” an issue. We communicated with you, investigated the concerns reported, took corrective action, and provided our documentation to Vrbo for review. We understand that you were disappointed with our decision regarding your refund request, but that decision was based on the findings of our inspection and the steps taken to address the reported concerns. We’re sorry that your experience this time did not reflect the positive experience you had at the property years ago, and we appreciate you sharing your perspective.

Wonderful

I love the Cottages at Romar, this is my second stay. The homes are in a gated community which provides a safe family, friendly atmosphere. The beach homes are all nice and well-maintained by Kaiser property management. Their team is always happy to assist you. Example: my son accidentally locked the master bedroom door and they sent maintenance out immediately to unlock the door. The maintenance guy was very nice and had the door unlocked in no time. The home is lovely and as described. We donated 5 new beach chairs and a beach umbrella to this home because we didn’t have enough room to bring them home. Hopefully, the next family can enjoy them as well. Thank you for allowing us to make memories in your beautiful beach house. My family enjoyed this vacation, and we are already planning our next trip to Cottages at Romar.
