Designed and built by world renowned artist, builder and ecologist Dan Phillips, this unique property was built to include recycled materials such as bottle caps for ceiling designs, broken mirror shards to form mosaic bathroom walls and thousands of decommissioned Texas license plates used as roofing shingles.

The Host Joseph were very helpful and the cabinet were very nice accommodate. When I come back to Huntsville the cabinet is going to be the first one I look up.

This was our second time here at the Cedar House. Host was extremely nice and responsive to emails. They left us a welcome baked good that was amazing. Cute Christmas Tree which made it even more inviting.

Everything was great. The heater was broken and it was cold Friday night but the owners did what they could with extra space heaters to try and keep the place as warm as possible in light of missing replacement parts. I was dealing with the same issue with my own heater at home and understand the frustrations. They were accommodating when I needed to return because of something I left behind. Very cute home!

Perfect host - seemed totally available but since all we needed was already in the house, we had no additional needs! We appreciated that there were many good dining options within walking distance.

This was the best VRBO I’ve ever stayed at. HANDS DOWN. The attention to detail was insane. The way everything was thought of, from night lights to unique art, to extra toiletries to even leaving us a sweet treat/gift.

This was one of the cleanest, most accommodating property I have ever stayed at!! They have thought of every detail.The host were so easy to communicate with.The house is very unique and great location to be so close to downtown.I highly recommend this property

Classy, Country, and Cool!This is the only place you should stay in Huntsville! The property is amazing, comfortable, cute, extremely equipped, and perfect for pups (fully fenced yard)! The hosts have curated a nostalgic, classic, country-themed home where every object contributes to your comfort. The hosts are classy, responsive, thoughtful, and accomodating. From the homemade cookies, to trusting guests with their record collection and player- every detail has been perfected for your relaxing stay. We didn’t want to leave!

Graduation gee away

Plenty of linens and cooking utensils. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I do not recommend staying there if you have balance and walking issues. The house is beautiful and transports you back in time. Love the western theme. The hot tub would’ve been greatly appreciated after our travel from Fla.

Peaceful and beautiful place to stay

This is most likely the best place we have ever stayed as far as cleanliness and being stocked! The backyard was so peaceful and relaxing. So close to everything in town and the bearkat golf course. The hosts are amazing at communicating. I want to stay here again!!!

Huntsville Project

Myself and 3 coworkers came to town to complete a small remodeling project. The house was perfect. We were able to grill steaks in the evening and the coffee maker worked nice in the morning. We were also able to pack light and use the washer/dryer on site to freshen up our clothes. Also, the house had a lot of character and it felt like home. I would definitely rent this house on another visit to Huntsville!

Hometown TEXAS-

This comfy country haven is cozy, warm and inviting. A hidden gem with unique history, character and charm. We thoroughly enjoyed the record collection, local historic photos, and unique antiques throughout. Every amenity you could dream for was provided. Extremely clean, and well stocked with essentials and extras. The builder of this home, Dan Phillips was an amazing guy that found creativity in building with recycled items. It was GREAT to read about his story. I would love to have a walking tour of all the homes he.built in Huntsville. Hoping to stay here again when we return to Huntsville!

Next Level VRBO Rental!! You will LOVE your stay!

These are literally next level property owners. Everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, is prepped, ready and thought completely through. The history of the home’s construction, the attention to detail in the design, the amazing decor, the signing/instructions for how to use/operate everything… it is unmatched. The beds are legit and even have a comfy topper, the amenities in the bathrooms and kitchen are superb. Easy walk to a couple of bars/restaurants in town. Hands down, you won’t regret staying at any one of the properties in town owned by this family. Book now!

Three Day Huntsville Stay

This past year I started working in Huntsville and commute daily from the Spring/Klein/Tomball area. A few months back, my wife and I planned a Saturday night outing with some coworkers to see a show at the Old Town Theatre. In order to circumvent a late night drive home, we decided to make a weekend out of the occasion and booked the Cedar House for Friday and Saturday nights. We chose the Cedar House for it's close location to the Town Square as well as the Theatre. In the mean time, I had a work related fundraiser/banquet come up in which I needed to attend on Thursday evening in Huntsville. My wife and I thought it would be nice to stay Thursday night as well so I reached out to Joe to see if it was available and if so, could the additional night be added. I promptly got a response back that it was available and no problem to add. The Cedar House as well as the Owner far exceeded our expectations. The House is very eclectic and immaculate from a cleanliness standpoint. We will definitely be back for another stay.!!
