The house was perfect for our visit to Fredericksburg! We were within walking distance of the historic Main Street, so it made visiting the shops and restaurants very enjoyable. The house was amazing! We each had a private bedroom with bath. The decor was beautiful. The linens were excellent and the beds were very comfortable. Great kitchen with everything we would ever need! Great outdoor spaces for morning coffee or afternoon breaks! We look forward to staying there again!

5 Stars – Pure magic, wonderful hospitality, and unforgettable memories!What happens when five friends get together for a weekend of wine tasting, deep belly laughs, and zero obligations? Absolute perfection—especially when staying at Melanie’s Historic Carriage House!From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in good hands. We were greeted warmly for check-in by Melanie’s sweet daughter, along with a bottle of bubbles waiting for us (it’s like she knew us already—champagne is officially our love language!). Throughout our stay, the communication was top-notch; attentive and thoughtful without ever being intrusive, with great local restaurant recommendations that did not disappoint.The house itself is stunning, rich in charm, and ridiculously comfortable. And can we talk about the beds? Getting five grown women to agree on anything is a miracle, but we unanimously agreed these were hands-down the best beds we’ve ever slept in on a trip!Our favorite moments were spent in simple bliss: warm morning coffees on the picturesque front porch sharing stories, and winding down in the evenings with wine and champagne on the rooftop terrace under the stars.If you're looking for a place that feels like a cozy home, a touch of history, and the ultimate backdrop for making life-long memories with the people who matter most, this is it. Gorgeous house that kept the old school charm. Great location to be a home base for exploring Fredericksburg then a great set up to hang out at the house with your group after. The host was very helpful and made everything easy. Highly recommend.

We greatly enjoyed staying in this lovingly restored home. It has been furnished to the highest standards, and we were very comfortable.Melanie is an outstanding host. 8 adults. This place was 2 blocks from Main Street. We all had our own rooms/bathroom. Plenty of outdoor space. Plenty of parking for 4 maybe 5 vehicles. House was perfect. Host was available and responsive. Highly recommend. If your considering this property, and it’s available for your trip - BOOK IT!

Amazing property

This was an amazing place to stay. Great location close to downtown. House was beautiful, comfortable and had all the comforts you have in your home. Property manager is the owner and she was amazing. Gave great recommendations and made the stay so easy!!! I highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again!

Girls weekend trip before the school year kicks off

We had an amazing stay! This house makes you feel like you are staying in a part of history. All the charater and details displayed around the house really give a period feel. All the personal recommendations given by the host were great.

The perfect getaway

I’ve always dreamt of being able to stay in a 100 year old home and this was absolutely amazing. So Many wonderful, small touches that made our stay perfect. The charm of this house has totally been preserved. Definitely a must stay in Fredericksburg!

Girls weekend in Fred

A group of mom friends who had so much fun relaxing and being together in a beautiful home that was walking distance to the main road. Highly recommend staying in Melanie’s property! She was so easy to communicate with and the home was comfortable and clean and beautiful.

We absolutely loved our stay! Beautiful home - the photos actually under-represent the amount of space on the property both inside and out. Big beautiful beds and rooms. Extremely short (2 min) walk to main street, and right on the main part. The host was spectacular, promptly replying to our questions regarding restaurant and activity ideas, despite our stay being in the middle of the Thanksgiving holiday. She even reached out in advance to ask if we wanted the house decorated for holidays or fall. 10/10 stay!

One of the best birthdays ever! The Carriage House is beautiful and is in a great location. The Owner was so gracious and helpful. She took the time to share the home's history and made sure we had everything we needed. Customer Service...Beyond 5-STARS! Such a wonderful experience. Can't wait to our next stay! A wonderful stay in a lovely historic home

This beautiful historic home (1903) is a perfect base for exploring Fredericksburg and the surrounding area. We chose it for its location and its size (we were eight in total, and included grandparents, adult children, and a 3-year-old). It is easy walking distance to Main Street and its restaurants, wineries, and shops. The house is beautifully appointed, with close attention to detail. Each of the bedrooms is spacious, the beds are quite comfortable, the bathrooms, which vary in size, are well-stocked with good towels and very nice toiletries. The kitchen is well laid out and very well equipped, and the living room is great for lounging around. The hostess is absolutely marvelous! She fielded all my questions promptly, offered great suggestions for things to see and do and places to dine, and checked in regularly to make sure everything was as we wished it to be. She made us feel very much at home at every turn. We couldn't have asked for a lovelier stay, or for a more attentive and conscientious hostess. A fantastic find!
