My family spent Mothers day weekend in Retreat #11, I must say the pictures on the website do not do it justice, we were all pleasantly surprised how spacious the house and yard was. It was decorated to the T in comfy Lake House vibes. very clean and cozy, beautiful kitchen fully stocked, Beds are very comfortable.... (Important after a long day on the lake) favorite part was the large wrap around deck with the gorgeous view of the lake. Would definitely recommend for a family fun vacation.

Beautiful private house on the lake

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. The house was very clean when we arrived. It had all the things we needed to be able to cook and our kids loved the tire swing. Sitting on the deck was so relaxing with a beautiful view of the lake. We’d definitely return in the future.

Beautiful Lake House

My siblings and I (5 of us) recently stayed in unit 11. The house was great, all the comforts of home, and an absolutely fabulous view of the lake from the deck where we spent our evenings. There is a nice usable trail down to the lake, we used a wagon to get our chairs and such to and from the lake. We are all in our 60’s and 70’s, so the trek back up the hill after swimming all day was a little bit hard for some of us, but was so worth it. We love lake Shasta and we’re so happy that we spent our sibling vacation this year at Shasta Lakeshore Retreat. I do believe we will be back. One last thing, Lori and Dave are very responsive. There were a couple of times we had a question about something and I’d send an email, and would get an answer back usually within a half hour or less.

Retreat 11: first off, don’t be like me and NOT read the email with the directions. I plugged the address into my gps and got lost and called Lori and David and they graciously directed me to the house. We passed two gates and entered a private property with no neighbors to be seen. The third bedroom was in what I thought was a shed (and had to contact Lori because I didn’t read the sheet again 🤦🏻‍♀️) and she helped me find the third bedroom. It was close to the railroad tracks and our teenage boys were a bit annoyed since the train honks at all hours but loved the space and saw bear tracks in the morning so they were excited. But this was the only gripe about the house. Everything else was wonderful. Super clean and well stocked. The views are amazing and the paved trail to the lake is not far from the house. Kids wanted to kayak fish, but didn’t get the chance. We left behind 3 poles behind for the next guests. 😊. Would we stay here again? Absolutely and hopefully we see bears next time. Thank you Lori and David!

Our Amazing Stay at Retreat #11

We had a wonderful stay at Retreat #11! This property offers a truly unique vacation experience. We visited with our children and another family, and the home comfortably accommodated all eight of us. The bunk room was perfect for the younger children, while the Conductor’s Cabin gave the teenage boys their own space and privacy. The house was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. There was plenty of seating in the main living areas, and the porch was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful view. We especially loved gathering around the fire table at night. The kids spent almost the entire trip playing outside! We played lots of yard games, including cornhole, which was provided, and brought a few of our own as well. The included kayaks and paddleboards were another great addition and made for a relaxing time down by the river. Although the trail to the water is a little steep, we had no problem bringing all of our gear down using the carts and wagon provided at the house. The river area felt very private, and we were even able to explore the other side of the river, which the kids absolutely loved. We saw several deer and other small wildlife during our stay, making the property feel even more special. One day, we rented a boat from Bridge Bay Marina, about a 20-minute drive away, and spent the day exploring the main Shasta Lake area. It was a fantastic addition to our trip! We rent vacation homes all over the United States, and I can honestly say this was the best customer service we have ever received from a vacation rental. The hosts provided an incredible amount of helpful information, including photos and videos, so there were no surprises when we arrived. It is clear they have thought of everything! The directions were perfect, and finding the home was a fun adventure in itself. Even the train added to the unique character and charm of the experience! The property is huge, peaceful, and very private. We hope to come back again and spend more time exploring the area. We truly loved our stay at Retreat #11!

Awesome lakefront property

We had 4 adults and two Labradors. The property is down a gravel path. There is a lovely flat area around the house that gave the dogs plenty of space to sniff and play. The house has great indoor and patio seating areas with a beautiful views of the lake. The rooms and beds are comfortable. The kitchen had all the tools for cooking. We enjoyed the trains going by. The path to the lake is great, and definitely more effort to walk back up than walking down. We stayed for 6 days and only left the property once. We will definitely be back! Lori was available and made sure we had everything we needed.
