Amazing views! It's all about the views. We loved sitting on the deck and staring at Longs Peak. The house is lovely with lots of room. The proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park is perfect.

This wasn’t really worth the money. The two bedroom downstairs and the bathroom were small and the staircase to get to them was difficult to maneuver.The water supply cut out on us on the second day. The cable tv didn’t work well. The coffee maker didn’t work. The water kettle was filthy and couldn’t be used. Also, we’ve never stayed in a place - expensive or not - where we were required to load and run the dishwasher, take the towels and place them in the clothes washer, and take out the trash. Ridiculous. None of this should have happened, especially in a place that expensive. We want a partial refund.

I would like to address a few of the points you raised: -Staircase Accessibility: We do include information about the spiral staircase in our listing along with photos to help guests make informed decisions. We understand that this can be challenging for some, however it is in our listing before booking. -Cable: We did stop by and show you how to use the cable TV and the Roku. -Appliances: We did address this during your stay and took you a new coffee maker and kettle as soon as we were made aware. (the kettle had water stains it was not dirty) -Water: We understand that the water shut off momentarily, however it was quickly restored. -Checkout Instructions: We provide checkout instructions to all guests, which include tasks such as placing towels in the shower or bathtub not in the washer and taking out the trash. This is standard practice in many vacation rentals, and we appreciate your understanding in this matter. We strive to provide an exceptional experience for all our guests, as soon as we were made aware of your concerns we promptly addressed them.

The pictures do not do the view justice! We absolutely loved the stay. Everything was perfect for our young family. Lots of space from neighbors, very peaceful and scenic throughout the stay. Way more space than needed for our family of 5.The upstairs reading nook was amazing for the views during the day and the stars and distant lights of Estes Park at night. Everyone slept very well and the kids (5,5,7) navigated the spiral staircase well.I ( nerdy dad) could really "feel" the history of the place the longer we stayed there. I tried to find more objective info about the place, but was only able to get tidbits. I would love to know more if the host were to dig some of it up from the local records, etc.One safety note: the front door slams shut really hard on it's own. We had to make sure our little kids did not use this particular door without us for fear of them getting hurt.

Perfect property for RMNP

Easy access to Estes Park and RMNP. Surrounded by boulders, hills, streams, and wildlife. Very clean and comfortable, and the views out of the front windows are unbeatable. We plan on returning to this property later this year.

Booe Family Trip

Bishop's retreat is a beautiful property with great views of the front range. The house is comfortable, well maintained and the kitchen well equipped. We had four generations of my family there and everyone thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We spent a week at this beautiful property in mid-August. The views from here are fabulous. This home sits on 10 acres, so you have no close neighbors. It sits high above High Drive and you look out on Long’s, Meeker, Hallett, Flattop and peaks continuing northward. Our group could walk out the door and follow Upper High Drive to the end and the beginning of a trail that connects to the main Deer Mtn. Trail. The kitchen had some essentials. This is a historic cabin and most of it is original. There is a deck that goes across the entire front and wraps around. We had a couple of problems which were addressed promptly. When we arrived (after dark), it was very dark and we could not get the outside lights to function. We called the after hours number and someone came right out. One night we went to the movie and out to dinner and returned to no water. Again, help was here in just a few minutes & we learned that there is a button to push if it happened again. We were a group of 5 and used 3 bedrooms. All had comfortable beds. The bath linens were of excellent quality. Two of our group, who are IT professionals, worked from this home and the internet was strong and worked well. We had ATT phone service and had no problems until entering RMNP. The entrance to the park is very close. Be sure to check out the timed entry system and get your passes. They worked well and we never waited long to get into the park. We are already planning our return next year.

Wonderful Mountain Chalet

What a wonderful visit we had. The mountain views were spectacular. The elk walking through the yard was such a treat. The early morning coffee on the deck with family was so relaxing. Everything we needed was available and so close to downtown Estes Park. We would definitely recommend this cabin and hoping we can stay there again in the future.

Fantastic View!

The checkin was very easy. The cabin has everything you will need. The view off the deck of Long’s Peak is spectacular. Entrance to RMNP is like 5 minutes away. Very quiet part of Estes Park.

Bishops Retreat for RMNP Wedding

We had a great experience at this property. We had planned a wedding in Rocky Mountain national Park, and even though it was cold and snowy, everything went off as planned. The home was well appointed and well heated. We had plenty of space for our guests, plenty of hot water for showers, and enjoyed our stay immensely.

Bishop's Retreat at RMNP

Located very close to the Beaver Meadows entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park with beautiful southerly views and deer walking right by the property, this was a great base for our trips into the park. Main living areas clearly original with updated bedrooms, kitchen and baths. Felt very private, backing up to the mountain and few nearby properties were occupied in mid-October. Would definitely go back!

Absolutely loved our stay at Bishop’s Retreat! The cabin is perched on a stunning mountainside with breathtaking views of Longs Peak and other snow-capped peaks—we spent hours just relaxing on the deck, taking it all in. The location couldn’t be better: incredibly close to the RMNP entrance, which made it easy to beat the crowds and enjoy early morning hikes. The home itself is spacious, well-maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed—from toilet paper and tissues to coffee, spices, and even dish and laundry detergent. All the little touches made a big difference. This is a true mountain gem—we’d come back in a heartbeat!

Paradise in heaven

Pictures don’t do enough justice for this place. The only thing we regret is that we did not stay longer. How often you get to see group of Mule deers at your backyard? Elks just a few miles away and wake up to a awesome view of snow capped Rocky Mountains. The place was neat and clean with more than enough room for our family. We will come back again for sure.

House is spacious and close to RMNP. Beautiful views. No lights that work around stairs outside makes it unsafe to walk up that many steps in the dark. Master suite carpet is stained and dirty. Room is very outdated, musty & old smelling. Downstairs bedrooms are also musty and old smelling with small dangerous stair case to get downstairs (thankfully we didn't have anyone staying down there). Beds are hard as a rock and very uncomfortable. Was expecting better for the price.

Thank you for your review. We will have our maintenance manager look at the outside lights. The master suite carpet has a faded stain that has been cleaned. This home does not smell old and musty. It is best to hold on to the hand rail when using the circular stairway. There are also outside doors to the downstairs bedrooms so guests can bring their luggage in without using the stairs. The beds will be evaluated at the next departure. This is a beautiful home with an amazing view. Plenty of room to spread as well as come together for family time. This home is one of my favorites and well worth the price.

This is truly a spectacular home in the heart of Estes Park. It was very easy to get to wherever we wanted to go in Estes Park from here. The view is stunning and it feels very private as the properties in this neighborhood are expansive. There is an easy entrance to the ground floor bedrooms from the front porch, that has easy access just off the driveway. You should plan to use that entrance to take in the belongings for those planning to sleep on that floor. Everything else should go in the front door entrance. There is so much room for everyone to gather together at the huge dining table just off the kitchen that naturally flows into the comfort of the main family room. Which was really nice in the evening to gather and play games, eat, and do puzzles. The first thing I did was pull up the blinds for the numerous windows to see the striking view. We all enjoyed coffee on the wraparound porch. I would certainly stay here again.
