Welcome to Anchors Aweigh Hideaway at The Galvestonian—a relaxing beachfront escape where beautiful Gulf views, coastal comfort, and Galveston’s peaceful East End come together for an easy island getaway.

This inviting one-bedroom, one-bathroom condo sleeps up to 4 guests and offers 576 square feet of comfortable living space. With a king-size bed in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room, it’s a great choice for couples, small families, or anyone ready to trade everyday life for a few days by the Gulf.

The bright, open-concept living area is filled with natural light and relaxing beach views. Step outside onto your private balcony to enjoy the Gulf breeze, watch the waves, or start your morning with coffee overlooking the coast.

5 stars for the unit But, disappointed no hot tub

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Anchors Aweigh Hideaway was very nice. Could have used a phone charging station in the room. Forgot mine at home. Other than that the room and views were great. Brought my 91 year old dad with us to Galvestonian for the hot tub and it was not working! So was very disappointed because that was one amenity he could have enjoyed.

Just don't wait until the last minute to check out. Everyone else is and getting an elevator to hold your cart took about 15 minutes of waiting. No air circulating by the elevators so it was pretty hot. That is the only downfall, but will not keep us from coming back. We will just plan to check out earlier to, hopefully, avoid this.

Staying at the Galvestonian is always a treat. This unit had great chairs on the balcony and was very nice. The refrigerator water is very slow. This unit didn’t have games but the front desk did. They could use some extra blankets and games but overall was very nice.

Getaway for a long weekend

We stay at the Galvestonian 6-8 times a year, although we had never stayed in this unit. Cute, well decorated, comfortable bed. A good weekend.

Great location and view

We loved this condo. It was recently updated and everything seemed new and clean. We spent lots of time on the patio enjoying the view which you could also enjoy from the seating in the living room. The location is a very quiet part of the island. No crowded beaches. I will say they could use a new mattress, it wasn’t that great.

The Galvestonian is a beautiful property with easy access to the beach, which is provided by a private walkway. Anchors Aweigh Hideaway is well stocked with the essentials for making simple meals, very clean, and comfortably furnished. Do note that there is a light outside the bedroom window that makes the room quite bright during the night. The solution is provided in a roll-down shade that is installed above the window, but we were too tired on our first night there to see it. Silly us. If there is a downside to this property, it is the lack of on-site laundry facilities for guest use, so pack accordingly or plan to drive to a nearby laundromat. Overall, we enjoyed our time here and plan to stay here again. I highly recommend the Galvestonian.
