Be aware that there is no steady cell phone service within an 8 mile drive of the property, so if the internet goes down, you will not be able to call, text, or wi-fi with your cell service (including Google maps, so you may want to preload maps for the Cobleskill area). We were there for our son's wedding, and there was no internet due to a storm the night before knocking out the modem. And yes, we all power-cycled and such, the but the modem was old and fried. So this was a MAJOR INCONVENIENCE--if you don't mind the potential for being disconnected, it's fine. But just be aware if you need to be connected (and we did for wedding stuff and work), there is a possibility you won't have service at all. Pro tip--there is a spot about 10 feet from the house that will allow you to get some service if you stand perfect still (from the door that leads to the driveway). That said, the property is spacious, lots of room for hosting and entertaining as family and friends, a large living room and family room with a big dining room table as well. The house is creaky and not very sound proof (you will hear most every step and every flush and running water). Also, don't drink the water and it's a little greasy in the shower. The place is also pet friendly with lots of little amenities for the furry friends (we were going to bring ours but decided last minute to leave him with a friend back home). Outside the caveats listed above, the place was good.
