We chose Shenandoah Sunrise for our family to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from JMU! It was fabulous! Loved the space, especially the large family room and space to entertain!All 12 family members were comfortable and loved having out on the deck enjoying the gorgeous views!The kitchen had everything that we needed and there were plenty of blankets to keep us cozy! Kevin was very easy to work with and very responsive!

The kichen was WELL stocked with pots, pans, utensils, even a crock pot. We appreciated the kid size utensils and kid plates/cups. The home was BEAUTIFUL with lots of space for everyone! Check in, check out directons were clear. Everything was very clean. The home is beautifully decorated, comfortable, and welcoming. Just a couple minute drive to the resort.

Family ski vacation

Everything was perfect! Plenty of things for my teenagers to enjoy and stay busy. The cabin had everything we needed for the entire stay! Will definitely recommend!

Great graduation weekend

We have stayed in this area multiple times and this house has been our favorite.The view is absolutely incredible and it is everything you could want for a family gathering.Appreciate the communication as well as the accommodations. Would love to come back for skiing.

Wonderful home with all amenities needed! Very short drive to skiing. Had a couple questions and management was available to answer. Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Thanks for a great weekend!

Breathtaking views and amazing house packed with amenities!!

Our family does an annual fall hiking trip and this house was perfect!! The views of the valley and Shenandoah park are incredible. The house was clean and had more than enough room. The kids loved the game room. The kitchen was fully stocked to cook family dinners with everything you would need. Would absolutely recommend this beautiful cabin to anyone!!

Beautiful house with great view

Great location when visiting for skiing. Basement has plenty of entertainment. Gas Grill is very small plan for cooking to take longer. Driveway can be difficult for larger vehicles as you have very sharp 180 to enter.

The home was very nice, but we did have issues with a number of the doors sticking, to a point where people were stuck in the rooms. Also, the shower door on the main level shower did not open and close correctly.

Amazing Easter Weekend

We were initially supposed to stay in December but had a sudden death in our family the day after Christmas. Kevin, the property Manager was so helpful and accommodating. We were able to reschedule and our spring break trip turned out amazing despite the unfortunate circumstances. My parents and our family including our old man Shepherd loved everything about our stay. The home was amazingly stocked with everything a family with a toddler might need which was a godsend! Little dishware, the high chair, and a perfectly placed crate of books for tiny hands was a big hit! We definitely felt right at home and enjoyed the beautiful spring weather on the mountain. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The Perfect Log Cabin for a Group

This truly was the perfect log home. The owners think of every little detail for ease, comfort and beauty. The best thing is that there are 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. All 3 married couples had their own private bedroom and bathroom. The singles could spread out with minimal sharing of spaces. Everything was spic-n-span clean. The kitchen was super organized with labels and an abundance of dishes, silverware and glasses. The game room in the basement was fun for when we had down time. We played pool, ping-pong and foosball. You will not find a better place with a better layout and all the little touches that make a stay enjoyable. Just book it and stop searching on VRBO.

3.5/5 really...First the not-so-good....mostly safety concerns. It's virtually impossible to take your pet out safely due to the terrain. Has one small gravel area that is flat if you can get your dog to go there...mine would not...otherwise it is treacherous. Driveway is difficult especially with bad weather. Need to have LOTS of driveway salt available. No street parking. Upstairs hall bath has two steps leading to it which are easy to miss because there is no and we had two people stumble toward the loft railing. Emailed prop mgr to ask owner to remedy this with some sort of stripping. Rock steps leading up to the main porch are also treacherous when wet/icy. Owner should invest in continuing the wooden staircase. Some maintenance items were emailed (I noticed one review from six months ago mentions the same problems - doorknob, stuck shower doors - so hopefully they get taken care of). Has a strong "wood" smell - if you have allergies to specific trees this might not be ideal. Would not recommend this property for anyone with balance/mobility issues or with small/older dogs. Now for the good...it is very spacious. The main living area is perfect for lots of people. Kitchen is large & well-stocked. The house was cleaned well & had handsoap, dishsoap, a scrubber, PTs and TP. Lots of hooks! A ton of storage for clothes and food. Close to the lifts. Great game room. Basement has separate heating which helps a lot in cold weather. Stunning view.

Great weekend in the mountains

Spacious house with INCREDIBLE views! Could use some updating, especially carpet. Bedding is provided but seemed musty, so we washed it before use. Great starter set of supplies and well-stocked kitchen. Dual zone HVAC. The upstairs loft had a large selection of paperbacks. There are some DVDs and a chess board on the main floor. The ping pong table and corn hole boards were a huge hit, but the pool table wasn’t in great condition. The basement bedroom is for people who are okay with bugs (not roaches, just basic forest insects). The bathrooms were clean and spacious but didn’t have exhaust fans. We opened windows after showers. The bathrooms and kitchen didn’t all have hand towels and hand soap, so bring some extra. As with most rentals, be prepared to wash kitchenware before use, but this rental was no worse than others. Be gentle with the dishwasher, as the soap lid is missing. You may want to buy bottled water and bagged ice. We have well water, and I normally drink from the tap, but even I had to agree that this water had a bad taste. We think it’s the area, not the house (1st time in Mass, so not certain). Parking is no joke! Pass the driveway and u-turn at the cul-de-sac to pull in without scraping the bottom of your car. Driveway was large enough for our 4 cars. The property management company was very helpful and responded quickly when I emailed with questions. Community & amenities are great. Eat at Thunderbird Cafe! Overall, we’d stay again :-)

Thank you for this fantastic five-star review, Amy! We will look into the pool table and bug guard in the basement. We do sincerely apologize for any inconvenience about these items. It is a cabin that backs right up to the wood so it is not uncommon for an outdoor bug to creep it, but will continue to do our best to ensure it is not problem. The water is no so great to me either - I have a well at home. It seems to be a Massanutten thing. Parking can be tricky for the home due to the location, but as you described, it is much easier to go up to the cluc-de-sac and turn around and come in that way. Thankfully this driveway is not as hard to navigate as other homes in Massanutten. We are very glad you all had an enjoyable and comfortable stay! - The M.V. Team

Family Thanksgiving celebration

Our family had a wonderful time! The house was exactly as described. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare and serve a Thanksgiving meal. Beds are comfortable.
