Moody Salem Home Away From Home

Park and walk to all the best Salem has to offer!

Enjoy this 1890 gem with a water view on the Salem walk/bike path taking you to the beach, Salem downtown, and train to Boston.

The recently renovated first floor unit within the two-family home provides historic charm with modern amenities showcasing one bedroom with a king bed and water view, a fully equipped kitchen and dining room as well as a full bath with walk-in shower.

Enjoy the open living room with futon sofa and cozy den along with a flexible space that can be utilized as an office. A cot is available for those with three guests. This1890 gem also displays gorgeous hardwood flooring throughout.

Guests have full use of the entire first floor unit, and access to the shared backyard with a water view on the Salem bike path.

One driveway parking space and free street parking for other vehicles on Lemon St. (only resident street parking in October). The driveway is narrow and will not fit large SUVs or trucks, however street parking is also available.

Directions for parking: Driveway is to the right of the home when viewing from Lemon St. Ct. When using GPS, be aware that Lemon Street Court is a short street off of Lemon Street, but these are two different streets. Street parking is not permitted on Lemon St. Ct. and parking fines may be imposed for violations.

No pets, smoking, or parties are permitted in the unit.

The apartment was clean and well equipped. The driveway was difficult to park our car in but we were always able to find street parking. Nice place that I would definitely book again.

We had such a wonderful time staying here! This location was a perfect drive to see all the sites and shops and a perfect place to relax after the day. The hosts were great to work with and we would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Salem!

Excellent location close to bike trail & beach

Gracious hosts with a comfortable, well-appointed home near community favorite spots, beach, bike path and The Commons. Easy area to walk, parking at home is tricky but can easily park one block away. Highly recommend.

Wonderful stay!

The apartment was clean and lovely. The location was pefect to see all the Salem sites but still have peace and quiet to relax. Hosts were very communicative and so sweet. We would absolutely stay there again!

Great Location

We chose this location because it was perfect for everything we wanted to do in Salem and Boston. The place was clean, the AC worked perfectly, and it had what we needed to stay for two days. I did not have any issues checking in or communicating with the host when needed. The suggestions they gave for local restaurants paid off and we enjoyed some amazing food and ambiance.Overall, we enjoyed the stay, and I would come back if ever in the area.

I had a fantastic stay at Moody Salem Home Away From Home! From the outside, it might seem modest, but inside it’s surprisingly spacious. There’s a roomy dining area, a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room, and a large king bed that made me feel like I had a luxurious amount of space. Even the entryway felt welcoming.I easily walked to downtown Salem in about 15 minutes after checkout, which was a breeze. Just a heads up: the parking spot is a bit tight, but having off-street parking in Salem is a huge plus and well worth it.Overall, the place was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, and the check-in process was the easiest I’ve ever had. Communication was top-notch: clear, concise, and super helpful. Definitely recommend!

Lovely little Salem abode

Sweet, clean & well appointed, this Salem home was perfect for our needs. Walkable to downtown and accessible to walk/run path along the river. Light sleepers may want to bring earplugs or noise maker as the house:bedroom is near busy thoroughfare & train rail.

Navigation to Salem downtown was a bit of a task because cell service got quirky as soon as we backed into the driveway. A map would have been helpful but it all.worked out. We tried communicating through the app to let the owners know our plans for a later entry but the messages from them didn't come through email or the app for how to check in. We were blessed by a neighbor who called them on our behalf for entry. The space was gorgeous. Very roomy. Very clean. And ... moody if that's the word you want to use for a spot in Salem. It was a good location for bopping around downtowm.

Perfect for mother/daughter getaway

Property was perfect for our short stay in Salem. The neighborhood was quiet. Plenty of fans in each room. Extra bedding, pillows, and towels are always a plus since my mother stays cold. Espresso machine and tea was great for early mornings! Comfy bed. WiFi was fast too which made working a few times while on my trip a breeze. The hosts were very quick to respond to any email. Will def stay again if we find ourselves in Salem!

Could not recommend this place more! It is close to all of Salem’s attractions while still being a quiet, and relaxing stay. We felt right at home! Will definitely book again next year!

Awesome and Cozy Stay!

This place was absolutely wonderful! Not only was the decor super cute and very “Salem,” I also didn’t need a car to drive to anything in Salem as the place was super close to all the main Salem attractions and shops. Very walkable and located in a quaint and quiet neighborhood. Emily and Deljan were also very kind and accommodating hosts. (They even left me a little mug from one of the local shops as a gift—how sweet!) Would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a nice, enjoyable stay in Salem.

Way over priced for what this place is advertised. Youre better off staying in a hotel.Compared to the multiple VRBO properties i have stayed i would rate this the lowest.Zero amenities. Cant cook anything because there is zero condiments, no water, not even salt/pepper. Cabinet door fell off the hinge. The place is decorated from thrift store finds. The couch is cute but impractical, uncomfortable, and the back of the couch was loose. So, couldnt really even "chill" on the couch after a long day in Salem.The bathroom is on the opposite side of house from bedroom so good luck if you wake in middle of night to pee.There was no advantage to stay here vs. A hotel. Zero privacy given all neighbors are literally 3 feet outside your window.Good location but that is the only benefit.I wouldnt pay more than 350 per night. Stay at one of the hotels in town and youre better off.

Great apartment, wonderful host

My husband, me and my son stayed in this apartment for 3 nights. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating. They texted the door code and gave suggestions for places to eat. All were great. The house was beautifully updated but still had the warm historic feel. Great size kitchen. Shower/bathroom was very nice. Bedroom was a little small but we also had a pack n play in there and didn’t really need anything else. The mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. I would suggest upgrading that but otherwise everything was great. Parking is tricky but it’s just the style of the area. Nothing can be done and the owners were very accommodating to let us have the parking spot. Once my husband got the trick of it, it was no problem. Apartment is private and on the 1st floor which was perfect for me being disabled. It was also located super close to the main part of Salem but not too noisy. We would definitely recommend this host and the house.

It was great. The amenities are exactly as promised. We had to buy a few things like trash bags and a blender, but otherwise it was completely good. The parking is a little rough though. If you're an experienced driver, it's not issue. If you're not an experienced driver though, the owner has offered to park for you if you are having trouble.

Guests can reach us with questions at any time through the Vrbo app. We speak English, Italian, Albanian, and some Spanish as well and hope all will feel welcome to stay with us.

We hope you appreciate the historic charm moodiness of Salem in and outside the unit, whether heading to the Witch Museum just a few blocks away, taking a night/ghost tour of the city, or Salem has plenty to offer with fantastic bars and restaurants, parks, beaches, and more just minutes from our door. We are happy to say hello, provide local recommendations, and answer any questions you have while enjoying your stay.

We put our hearts not only into renovating the home and updating it with modern amenities, but also into decorating to make guests feel that they are truly in the heart of moody Salem.
