If you are looking for a beautifully appointed, unique, non-cookie cutter stay with some truly stellar amenities, the Surf Ranchita is for you! We loved everything about this house; there are thoughtful touches around every corner and it was clear the host cared about making our stay wonderful! I would definitely rent this property again!

This was our 3rd August on the central coast of California and as usual it was cool. We are from Texas.This house was the most unique and interesting. It is a bit of a drive from anywhere and the driveway can be difficult to spot but if you pay attention to the directions it's not a problem.The bedroom and 2 baths were just great, every thing you could possibly need or want. Showers were great and the heated floor a real treat.Kitchen had everything with Keurig and kettle for my tea. The water filter was great and water was delicious.It did take me a while to figure out the Roku TV but finally was able to watch what we wanted, directions would have been helpful as not everyone has a set up like that.We loved taking the "back way" into Morro Bay, so pretty.The road and 1st turnoff in Montana de Oro was a great vantage point to look back at the 3 stacks and a rock and then continue on to Simpsons Cove.We loved our stay in Los Osos at the ranchita and highly recommend it to anyone. Had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house. Traveling with our 2 adult sons the home was a perfect size. Beds were comfortable. Ample dishes, towels, etc. were provided. Easy drive to Los Osos, Morro Bay, & SLO. Grocery store just minutes away. Easy drive to hiking trails. Would definitely recommend & stay again.

Fantastic experience!

Stopped over between Orange County theme parks and the Yosemite mountains for a brief beach experience Wished in hindsight that we could have stayed several more days! Great hosts and a truly wonderful place. Highly recommended!

Cute and cozy home

We stayed one night during our road trip to different national parks. We had a lovely stay - the house was very well equipped, comfortable furnishings and adorably decorated. Feels very welcoming like staying over a friend’s house. We will stay here again!

Spectacular. Everything about the weekend was perfect starting with the ranchita. The weather mid-January was sunny and yet we got abundant use of the outstanding hot tub and sauna. The house was a great spot for a reunion with dear friends with lots of hanging out in different comfortable spots, lots of cool time & loved the plancha which worked like a professional cooktop. Lexy is a great host and responded quickly to any questions. Cant wait to come back!! Memories were made!

We loved our stay in the surf ranchita. The house had everything you would need in the kitchen and bathrooms. Beds were cozy and decor was so cute. Our only problem was the living room couches were not comfortable. We all sat down to watch a movie together and they were not as intimate as the rest of the house. We made do with extra pillows and blankets.

Relaxation defined

Amazing bathrooms (the heated floors and orchids), amazing sauna and hot tub - both clean and relaxing. Fun, eclectic touches all throughout. Teens enjoyed seeing the phone booth. Comfy beds and wonderful fire pit outdoors. Would come back again. Great base for exploring Los Osos hikes, Morro Bay, and San Luis Obispo.

Perfect stay in a gorgeous house!

Stop your search and rent this house! You are in for a treat! Wow! I have rented loads of short-term rentals and this would easily make my top 3. Let me just summarized few things: 1. Communication: it was so easy to communicate with the host. They were super responsive, kind and thoughtful in every interaction. They accommodated all our requests and was gracious while doing so. 2. The house: the house is so gorgeous and nicely decorated. The attention-to-detail is exceptional. TV in every room, throws, floor-warmer in the bath. They even have dental floss in the toilet!! Additionally, the accent lights have dimmers! I have not seen any rental property with so many amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay and can't recommend this property enough!

Tranquil living on vacation

Almost by accident my wife and I found this property. We were looking for a home to relax that was centrally located on the central coast area and that offered warm and premier features. And this property delivered! At first, we thought we might be in the wrong place because it felt like we were walking into someone's home! We'd never stayed in a place where the owner had gone to so much detail to make visitors welcome. From food in the kitchen, to the artwork and furnishings, to the luxury sundries in the bathroom. I mean, who provides dental floss to their guests? Thinking through these details is so thoughtful that it's almost unimaginable. The property includes both a hot tub and sauna...a Sauna! a welcoming layout with an easy flow to it. The kitchen is large and fully equipped. And the private main bedroom includes both a sitting room, office working zone, and sliding doors out to the large outdoor patio. 2 walk-in showers is ideal for all visitors and ADA friendly. Honestly, we didn't want to leave but most assuredly will be back. I can't rate this one high enough!

OMG ☺️ Thank you for the kindest, most generous (and well written) review! I must try to reciprocate, as you left the house in such amazing shape, you are too thoughtful. We know it’s easy to stay in an expected hotel chain or a generic home stay (with notes everywhere) so we wanted it to be casual and comfortable, like you’re staying at a friend’s house or 😏 in our case, an eclectic aunties. I think most people have their own products and things they like to bring, but it’s definitely nice to have ‘back up’ just in case, so I’m glad you “got it”. Sorry it was such a quick trip for you all, but looking forward to your next stay in SLO CAL. THANKS again for the kind words and being such a gracious guest. You’ve set the bar for VRBO!

From the initial response and instructions to post-check-out, the host's communication was timely, useful, and welcoming.The property was clean, attractive, spacious, inviting, and well-appointed. Had we never the left the property during the entirety of our 6-night stay we would have enjoyed ourselves. The location offers relatively easy access to downtown SLO, Morro Bay, and environs. The entire experience felt as if we were staying at a good friend's beautiful home. It's stocked with all that you'd need and then some. The host even left us some provisions in the fridge that made breakfast relatively cost-free for a few days.Everything was functional. The home is in fine condition and the decor is homey and tastefully done throughout.The bathrooms and the jacuzzi are in excellent condition, and all of the rooms are comfortable and clean. Multiple areas to dine, drink, or simply relax outside beckon, and there's even a hammock and a cornhole set should you need to get the kids away from their phones.We left feeling relaxed, satisfied, and fortunate to have discovered this while searching for properties in the SLO area. We certainly hope to return.
