Mountain house in Fancy Gap with great room with a bar & games w/beautiful view

Escape to the tranquility and peacefulness of our beautiful octagon shaped 2 level mountain home located just 3 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway in Fancy Gap, VA. You will feel like you’re away from it all in our 3 bedroom, 3 bath mountain home only 20 minutes from Mount Airy (Mayberry). It is also conveniently located to Chateau Morrisette and other wineries, Hillsville Flea Market, Galax Fiddler's Convention, Floyd Fest, Mabry Mill, Blue Ridge Music Center, the New River Trail and lots of other outdoor adventures. You will enjoy the privacy of our home as the only neighboring house you’ll see is behind you with no one beside or in front of you. On the main floor is a kitchen and dining area, a large great room with a rock fireplace and a wall of windows facing a spectacular long-range Piedmont view along with a deck spacious enough to entertain or relax. There is a large master bedroom with a king bed and full bath with a walk in shower. You will find an additional queen bedroom and full bathroom (with a bathtub/shower combo) on the main level along with a laundry area with a full size washer and dryer. The downstairs has a fully finished great room with a large Smart TV, bar, video games and an additional bedroom and bathroom. There is a hot tub on the lower deck. We love relaxing in our own little corner of the southwest Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains and look forward to sharing it with you.

The pictures give a good idea of the space, the seating up and downstairs was ample and comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked w/ appliances, we appreciated the keurig that could do both a full pot and cups. The deck was at the perfect angle for sunrise viewing. The bedrooms all had comfortable mattresses, and the master upstairs is huge. It is remote and private, but not too far from Mt. Airy with grocery stores and such. Kathy was very prompt with communication. We would definitely stay here again if returning to Fancy Gap.

We had a great stay. Appreciated the communication from the owners, and really enjoyed the large downstairs and hot-tub. The sunrise views were amazing. The driveway is fairly steep and could be a challenge with ice or snow, but no problems with our FWD car.

We loved the cabin and most especially the view! The sunrise was gorgeous! The place was clean and had a well stocked kitchen, beautiful fireplace and the downstairs area was great for hanging out with family and friends. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful place and views. Heads up for bikers

The place is beautiful with an awesome view, but be aware that there is no ac on lower level. If your a biker, yes there is an asphalt road, but it is worn and access to driveway is tricky due to strong incline. Not for amateurs. It does have a carport. We were able to fit 2 bikes, a single bike trailer and pickup.We did have a great time.

Memorial Day Getaway

Our family stayed for (4) nights. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and location the house was very well stocked with plenty of cooking items, linens, books, puzzles, etc. The basement was our favorite part! Th3 cleaniness and upkeeping of the house was noticed. The views are absolutely beautiful as well. The host communicated on a very high level which was very much appreciated.

Stink bug problem

Unfortunately, we were unaware they had a stink bug issue until we arrived at the home. Some folks don't like bugs, and we would have chosen another property had we known ahead of time. During our stay, we killed at least 100 stink bugs in the home, one of which was in our wine glass and another in our salad. We even found a few stowaway stink bugs in our luggage when we got home. YUCK! We notified the owners within 24 hours of arrival. They were not very understanding. They offered to refund us if we left the home a day early. Unfortunately, we had no other option but to stay the full 2 nights. I would ask the host to advertise your home accurately so people can make informed decisions. And please fix the hot tub so the breaker doesn't trip after 5 minutes.

Amazing

Gorgeous property inside and out. Winter time was great because the foliage was gone so we had a much better view off the back deck. Hot tub and stars were incredible.Highly recommend and will be back soon.

Nice hiking getaway in the mountains

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here. We had lots of day hikes planned and this served as a good hub for those hikes. The hot tub and fireplace were excellent to come back home to after a nice (but cold and wet) day of hiking. The owners were very quick to respond when we could not get the hot tub on and our vacation did not miss a beat. The view was excellent as well, but unfortunately it was really foggy most of the time so we couldn’t really enjoy it.

Great Thanksgiving Getaway

My family and I decided tondo Thanksgiving away from home this year and all I can say is I couldnt have picked a better spot to do it. This property is everything it advertised and more. The only caveat to this was the internet. It was so incredibly slow it made it hard to watch anything on TV. With that being said, this was an incredible place to spend our fall family vaction and I would absolutely love to come up and stay again.

Fantastic

The owner was extremely nice and was quick to answer when I had questions. Very clean. Very relaxing and the view is beautiful. When there were residual storms from Hurricane Helene the entire area was without electric but we had power the entire time because of the generator, that was truly a Blessing. I look forward to when my family will join me the next time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place.

Perfectly Cozy

We wished we had stayed here longer, but even with our short stay, this place was incredible! The views are gorgeous, the cabin was very comfortable and stocked with anything you'd need. The kids loved the game room and family room and we all enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the mountains.

Million dollar view

We had a fantastic stay. The house was spotless and the morning views were unbelievable. We sat outside every morning to watch the sunrise and enjoy the fog uncovering the valley below. The cabin exceeded all of our expectations and we plan to return in the fall to do it all again. It’s close to everything and a perfect place to get away from it all. The cabin itself

Very clean and comfortable.

The cleanliness of the inside of the house was great. The road and up to the house was little steep, but no problem without four wheel drive. The view is wonderful!

Perfect VA voyage trip

The house is amazing. Views are spectacular and the overall feel is welcoming, warm and inviting. We came because our daughter is moving to the area. We cannot wait to come back and enjoy the fireplace and hot tub in the fall.

Nice weekend getaway

The home was very clean and included everything that we needed for a weekend getaway. Everything was as advertised in the listing.The view is beautiful, and we enjoyed sitting on the porch in the mornings and evenings. It was perfect for our long weekend visiting family who lives nearby.

Great Cabin with a Fabulous View

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very private and the surrounding area was very quiet. The view was beautiful. We spent most of our time on the main deck or in the hot tub on the lower level. Working with the host was very easy and she was very quick to respond to any messages. The cabin is very well equipped with kitchen supplies, grilling tools, bathroom supplies, books and puzzles. There are lots of great seating areas with amazing views. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

Weekend get away

We had a very relaxing weekend at this beautiful house in the mountains. Enjoyed sitting on the outside deck with gorgeous views of the mountains and wildlife. House well stocked and had everything you could think of. Games, books, hot tub, fire pit and lower level perfect for hanging out. Kathy was very responsive. We will definitely be going back.

We chose this neighborhood because it is quiet and peaceful. It is also close enough to us to come on the spur of the moment but seems like we are miles from home.
