We’ve travelled through North America and Europe and in our opinion, this property is a special place, with a gorgeous ever changing view of the water and a beach that we spent hours walking. I didn’t even notice the tv on site until the end because I was too busy with the views and walks. Our hosts, Heidi and Paul (and goldens Enzo and Milo), are warm, welcoming, and generous, and we loved everything about the cottage itself. My husband and I would have stayed there happily for weeks. I think that everyone who stays in either of the rental cottages on site will plan to become return visitors. We do.

Our hosts (including their two dogs Milo and Enzo) were friendly and welcoming throughout our entire two week stay. They offered suggestions on places to go and things to do, which we found very helpful. Their advice on availability of fresh seafood, and tremendous help in obtaining and preparing fresh lobster, made a real difference to our trip.The highlight for us was the location, which was right at the shore, allowing us to enjoy uninterrupted ocean views, and listen to the waves. Beautiful, no matter what the weather.It is very obvious the owners take great pride in what they have created here, and rightly so. Their tremendous landscaping efforts are clearly a labour of love.We had never been to Nova Scotia, and certainly will be returning.

What a beautiful place to stay, right on the water with all amenities to enjoy your stay. Comfortable furniture and beds, the fireplace is beautiful as is the screen room. Kitchen was wonderful to cook in!Owners are so friendly as are their pups!We are already planning a return visitThanks so much!

Beautiful cottage and view

We had a wonderful stay here. Paul and Heidi were very kind and accommodating. A beautiful property right up against the Northumberland Strait, which we enjoyed kayaking in. The cottage was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the views.

Wonderful Getaway!

We went off-season and was exactly what we were looking for and needed! From the beautiful views to the wonderful fireplace...we had everything we needed and more. Took hikes, explored local towns, and ate at some great places! Would definitely recommend at any time of year!

Beautiful place!

Everything about this cottage is stunning. We highly recommend staying here. The hosts were wonderful and so very accommodating. We were met with a warm fire, candles, music and perfect lighting on our rainy evening arrival. A must if you are in the area!!

This has been our absolute FAVORITE VRBO stay! When searching for a place to travel for our 16th anniversary we came across this listing. The cottage, the views, and the hosts, Paul and Heidi, are the best, most attentive, and friendliest hosts ever! The listing for the cottage is well put together, however, it doesn't do this place justice. You have got to see it to understand how amazing it is in person! Their greeters/dogs Enzo and Milo are always ready to go for a walk, play, and love attention. They are sweet boys who added to the visit so much. The cottage is remote, approximately 2 hours from Halifax airport and about 20 minutes from Antigonish. It is quiet, peaceful and serene, well appointed and comfortable. You can tell the little personal touches that Heidi puts into getting it ready for guests. She added fresh flowers, books, games, puzzles, cozy blankets and throws, and seasonal decor inside and out. Paul made sure we were stocked on fire wood daily and were comfortable in every way. They guided us on directions to restaurant options along with their favorites, site seeing, and grocery store options. We loved every minute of this stay and will return in the future! Paul, Heidi, Enzo Ferrari, and Milo we miss y'all already and can't wait to see you again! Canada was great to us and so were y'all. Thank you for sharing your beautiful country and home with us. This is the perfect place to relax, recharge, disconnect, and lmake memories!

Beautiful stay with a panoramic view

First, just a beautiful place inside and out. As my wife and I like to cook, we can say this was the best equipped kitchen we've cooked in, and you can watch the sea as you do it. We had a great time relaxing and reading, watching the lobster boats at work.

Visit to Antigonish

Paul and Heidi were excellent hosts. The pictures don’t portray just how beautiful a spot this is. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. We walked the beach explored the area. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic Cottage and Location

This cottage was fantastic, very clean, well furnished and decorated with a relaxing feel. Right on the ocean for great views, sounds and sunsets. Paul and Heidi were excellent hosts and so were Milo and Enzo the wonderful furry (dogs) attendants making sure we had everything needed. We would recommend this cottage to anyone and would certainly stay again when in the area.

This was my third time staying at this beautiful cottage! I come every few years to visit family, and I plan my trip around when the cottage is available. My friends know this is one of my favorite places on earth! Paul and Heidi are incredible hosts!

This property is absolutely amazing and it is situated right on the water of the Northumberland Strait. Paul and Heidi are premier hosts who are ready to answer any questions and are so helpful.My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our stay!

Fantastic Slice of Paradise!!

Paul and Heidi are fantastic hosts. We were greeted by 2 friendly dogs and Paul offered us delicious Lobster bisque and freshly cooked lobsters upon revival. The kitchen is well equipped with everything thing you need. The view is fantastic. This is the perfect place to relax and recharge your mind and body. If you like relaxing vacations with great views and sunsets I cannot recommend Paul’s place enough.

Gem by the sea!

Enjoyed our stay. Lovely sea breeze and exceptional views! Decor was beautiful. Kitchen very well stocked. Lucky for us it was lobster season. Paul went out of his way to get us lobster and kindly cooked it for us. Thanks again!

Ultimate comfort

This cottage has all the elements you need for a wonderful experience. Paul and Heidi have thought of everything. Wonderful seeing the lobster boats working up and down the coast. We arrived to a welcoming fire. Just perfect.

Wonderful Getaway at Xanadu

We had a wonderful experience. Communication was clear and concise. The home itself was a beautiful custom built beach house; a new build encompaassing custom vintage features. The proporety is stunning, including a beach steps from the front door with very warm waters. We felt very fortunate to have stayed here and hope to avain soon. You will not be disappointed.

Xanadu by the Sea - Nova Scotia Paradise!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful sea side beach house! With a spectacular view of the ocean we were entertained each morning by the lobster fishing boats pulling up their catch. The house itself is bright and airy with decor that reflects the sea. It is both tasteful yet comfortable complete with a screened-in porch and a wood burning fireplace that was easy to use. Lovely patio, lawns and easy steps down to the beach where we took advantage of the kayaks to explore the coast. A special treat was lobster dinner which we bought at the wharf just 10 minutes away! It was a holiday we will long remember and we would love to return.
