The Farmside Retreat near I-81/26, a quiet country escape to nearby Tri-Cities.

Conveniently located 3 miles off I-81 at exit 50 & close to Kingsport TN, enjoy your stay in a 33' long motor home located near our home. Great for a stop along the way, a local event/festival, easy weekend glamping, or a contract job in the area. It has a private bedroom with a queen size bed, bathroom w/shower, living room with a full-size convertible sofa/bed, a dinette that converts to a bed, a reclining chair, and a fully equipped kitchen. It's a bit of country living on a working farm.

The RV is located on a working farm, surrounded by working farms. There are various farm animals that live on the property. You might find chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, or a horses close by to watch for a spell. We have a working Livestock Guardian Dog on the property, who works during the night to keep our livestock safe. So far, Winnie has been sweet to all humans she meets, but she is always working and should be left alone. There are also wild animals in the area, including deer, wild rabbits, skunks, opossums, and even an occasional coyote.

The RV is situated to enjoy the sunrise. There are some camping chairs for reclining outside the RV. There is a yard space outside the RV available to guests for their use.

We loved the place! Thank you for allowing us to stay. My children loved the tour of the animals (i know that wasnt the plan, but thank you for showing the animals off. They are still talking about Chuck Norris.) The farm fresh eggs were delicious! Hope we can stay again next time we are in the area. It was the first time we stayed in an RV. Sorry, i locked the wrong lock, but thank you Bethany for coming to my rescue.

Very quiet, rural location, convenient to all surrounding towns. Clean, stocked, kitchen supplies, extra blanket. Out the front door of the RV, you're looking at the area where two horses roam, with a small distant view of some of their chickens. Other livestock is viewable with a short walk towards the back of the property. The RV sits to the side of their house in their yard, near the street but still feels private. Hosts were helpful and communicative but also allowed for privacy. The livestock guardian dog does bark and growl at night as she wards off predators. She's a hard worker! I used ear plugs the first couple nights but then got used to it and slept fine without them. Just a note for animal welfare lovers and vegans, the livestock at this farm are contained in various areas and is used for meat production, though I saw and heard none of those activities during my stay. If staying for a length of time, I recommend bringing some odor eaters for the bathroom :)

We had an excellent stay at Matthew and Bethany's farmside retreat! They were excellent hosts, very communicative, and the area is absolutely gorgeous. Very quiet, peaceful getaway convenient to the Tri-Cities. Will definitely be staying again soon!

What an amazing time! Absolutely everything we could ask for. Hosts were great and helpful. We especially enjoyed the view and the horses from the front door!

Just what I needed for my stay

This was just what I needed for a weekend stay. Matthew and Bethany were fantastic hosts! They were easy to communicate with and everything was just as described. They worked with me getting in late the first night and were accommodating to traveling with my dogs. Its in a lovely, quiet area but easy to find and easy access to main roads. I would definitely stay again if im ever back in the area.

Property was as descried. We were the first renters of the season - Nice, very well kept Clean RV! We came in to Bristol for the Nascar race & didn't wanna pay an arm n leg for a place to stay! Host were very friendly! Location was close to interstate - about 30 mins from the Racetrack! If you ever stay in the area - defiantly check out Paradise Acres Family Farm Park! Mini-golf was so much fun! We decided not to take our pet - we paid pet deposit but Host contacted VRBO for a refund- VRBO refunded that amount days later. The only recombination I would say -maybe think about putting a TV in the Main bedroom! Also due to being the first renters of the season - I would maybe spray for small insects like ants, bee's etc. RV being closed up all winter could use maybe a insect inspection first. But host did provide spray after seeing a few black ants. After we sprayed had no more issues with insects! OVERALL - I would rate 9 out of 10!

Electrical AC/lighting

The location of the camper is absolutely beautiful. My husband and I love it. There is plenty of room for the two of us along with our five months old Maltese. The bed is very comfortable. However, there are many issues. 1. It seems there are shortages to the electrical when the AC is running. We would have to start engine to run the RV for several hours to charge the battery fully to run the AC and to have electrical. 2. The water pressure is very low. The hot water in the shower keeps going in & out. Overall the campsite is very quite and beautiful countryside.

Thank you Tune & Michael for the review. We do truly appreciate your patience with the electrical issue and are happy to report that the culprit (the converter under the stove) has been replaced and is now in good working order. We are sorry to hear about the water pressure. We wished we had known sooner so we could have looked into it. The water does seem to be running good now, not sure if that was related to the electrical issue or not, as it's a pretty new water pump and tankless water heater. Thank you again for choosing the Farmside Retreat and hope you will consider staying with us when you come to visit in future. Matthew & Bethany

Exactly as advertised. I really appreciate the use of the property. Very quiet except for a dog in neighboring property that barked all night. I just turned on a fan to drown out the barking.
