Escape to our enchanting lake house on seven wooded acres by Lake Michigan. This beautifully renovated cabin is perfect for friends and family getaways, featuring a spacious yet cozy in-law suite, playful bunk-bed loft, and a hidden game room creating a peaceful yet entertaining stay for all ages.

Take in stunning lake views and panoramic sunsets from the newly renovated stairs with multiple landings that lead to a private beach access. Cherish moments of tranquility and natural beauty in this secluded haven.

This property features three spacious bedrooms, each equipped with king-sized beds and convertible sleeper sofas, in addition to a loft that houses three queen-sized beds and three twin-sized beds. The residence boasts four modernized full bathrooms.

Guests are granted exclusive access to explore the estate, which features a scenic 20-foot-wide trail that winds its way to the 220 stairs for beach access. These meticulously designed steps are crafted for visitor convenience, descending to a secluded beach where breathtaking views awat at various vantage points.

First, the location is absolutely wonderful - very easy to get to and near lots of things to do. Very secluded and quiet.The private beach is a huge plus although the stairs can be a bit challenging for older people. The beach is absolutely beautiful and amazingly quiet. We didn't see anyone else while we were there.There was a slight hic-up in the check-in process but the host was immediately available and took care of the problem right away.All-in-all, a wonderful place to get away from it all.

Overpriced & OverrepresentedBiggest rub was host insisted info was in description and then added it real-time. We planned 2 weeks with family & friends and stayed 2 day. No check-in info, luckily the doors were unlocked. No sunset or view from the house. A more appropriate description would be rustic home in the woods with adventurous hike to beach. Approx 1/4 mile to the beach. Down & up steep hill, over a fallen tree, and then 18flts of stairs, no midway bench as described. Underwhelming renovations. 1 tub in a closet and the towel racks & toilet paper holders not anchored & hanging off the wall. The description has been updated since my stay. You’re welcome :)

Thank you for your feedback. We take guest concerns seriously; however, we feel it is important to clarify several statements in this review for the benefit of future guests. The description referenced in this review was not updated following this guest’s stay. Prior to booking, the listing disclosed that the property is situated on seven wooded acres and that beach access is reached by a scenic trail leading to 220 stairs descending to the private beach. The listing also describes the lake views and panoramic sunsets that can be enjoyed from the newly renovated stairway and its multiple landings. Unfortunately, this guest made the decision to leave after only two nights of a two-week reservation and subsequently requested a refund for the remaining unused nights. The matter was reviewed with Vrbo, and the reservation remained subject to the agreed-upon booking terms. We certainly understand that a secluded, wooded property with a trail and 220-step beach access may not be the right fit for every traveler, which is precisely why we make these details clear in the listing so guests can determine whether the property is a good fit for their stay before booking. For our future guests, our goal is always to provide a peaceful and memorable getaway where families and friends can relax, spend time together, enjoy the natural surroundings, and experience everything this unique Lake Michigan property has to offer. We take great pride in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our guests and are always happy to answer any questions before or during a stay. Quiet. Relaxing. Clean. Home was large enough to accommodate family. Beach was private. Enjoyed our stay.

Pictures on the listing really don’t do this property justice. So beautiful! Had a girls weekend and it was the perfect spot. The many stairs were worth it to have private lake access. We had such a great time and would stay here again!

We lucked out and had great weather, so this review is based on that! The beach is so beautiful and private. We loved it. Yes, there are A LOT of stairs. Our calves were sore, but it was a good little work out. For reference, my 78 year old mother did the stairs two days in a row, but she had to stop and rest at each landing going up. We had to bring a chair down chairs to use at the beach. Also, we got to get commentary each trip up and down from my husband on "I best this cost X" and "I wouldn't have wanted to build this". Along with this, the only pictures my husband took were of different angles of the stairs to send to his friends. The house and outdoor area were very accommodating. it is also private. It does need a refresh on some things like the deck and plumbing, but we made it work. Keep in mind, you are in the woods and bugs are around inside and outside:) we had a lot of sun, so bugs probably worse if overcast or rainy. Not sure what to do in New Era if the weather is bad. We did go to the Farmhouse Kitchen and Market a few miles from the house. It reminded us of the Farm Club restaurant in Traverse City - but in idea only - food is lacking and not worth it.

Family friendly

Overall amazed by this listing. Including the many stairs that gave us a work out. I loved how they offered toys for the kiddos which they loved. The kitchen was big but had an issue with the stove and grill. It was a bit cooler and the heat was not turning on so we had cold nights. Overall I enjoyed the views and the amenities a lot.

Not ready for prime time.

I don't enjoy writing bad reviews and I don't enjoy being disappointed. The entire family was disappointed and upset with the issues we encountered in July/Aug 2025.Feedback is provided regarding a recent stay at your New Era rental with a family of six adults and five children (ages 1, 4, 6, 6, and 8).SEE attached screenshot of issues/problems that I submitted to Hanna & Alex before posting this review.
Deck as you walk out of the sliding glass door off the kitchen
Condition of deck on the west side of the property. Runs from the Front of the house to the back of the house.
Accordion door in the front bedroom to the crawlspace and mechanical room was not lockable.
Fortunately, our 4 year old nor toddler discovered this areas.

There was a lot of space for 12 of us to be together but have our own areas if we wanted. The dining area was spacious and the island was great too. The beach was beautiful, it is just a calf-burning experience to take the stairs back up, we made sure to only do it once a day!The tv’s in each room were great, kids loved the secret room and air hockey. The Vrbo app wasn’t generating messages or info from the host, but she answered texts in a timely fashion. Great location, not too far from Silver Lake, where we visited several times.
