Nestled snugly along the pristine North Carolina coastline, our family beach house stands as a timeless sentinel to generations of joy and laughter. Built by our grandfather in the carefree era of the 1970s, it has been a steadfast sanctuary where the soothing rhythm of the waves and the salty tang of the sea breeze weave together a tapestry of cherished memories.

Perched majestically on the oceanfront, the house boasts weathered wooden beams and windows that frame breathtaking views of the endless horizon. Its timeless facade whispers stories of countless summers spent under the sun, and winters huddled by the crackling fireplace, cocooned in warmth and togetherness.

Inside, the walls echo with the laughter of children playing, the clinking of glasses raised in celebration, and the melodies of shared songs around the kitchen table. Each corner holds a treasure trove of memories: the cozy nook where ghost stories were spun, the kitchen where generations put together the perfect low country boil, and the deck where lazy afternoons melted into starlit evenings.

But beyond its simple beauty, our family beach house is a testament to the enduring bonds of kinship and the timeless magic of shared experiences. It's where we've celebrated birthdays, weddings, and graduations. It's where we've sought solace in times of sorrow and found strength in moments of triumph. It's where we've grown together, forging bonds that withstand the test of time.

Please note: This is a pet friendly property. There is a $200 pet fee if you are bringing a pet.

We do not provide linens but we can provide you with the link and information to a great rental linen company that delivers. Pillows and a top blanket is provided.

We also do not provide paper products or consumables but will have a few items to start off your stay.

We do provide internet and modern amenities but this is an older cottage that was updated in the early 2000's. She is clean and maintained and boast a beautiful view of the ocean.

Every year we are making improvements, so please make sure to book us again. For 2026 we installed a new HVAC system, a new induction stove and a new refrigerator that we consider kid friendly. We have even bigger improvements planned for 2027!

We will send you a Welcome packet with all important information regarding your stay prior to your trip.

Overall stay and location were fine. Unfortunately I did have a few issues with lights, plumbing, and front door code lock and was told that nothing could be done until after the stay. The grill was falling apart and should be removed immediately. The porch also has quite a few weak spots and holes that need to be addressed ASAP. I appreciate their accepting of dogs but the sun room smelled heavily of dog pee and had to mop it the first day I arrived.

Unfortunately, during this very busy time of year, we were at the mercy of our repairman’s schedule and could not have the reported maintenance issues addressed before your departure. We were not made aware of any urine odor during your stay; had it been reported, we would have immediately asked our cleaning crew to return and address it. We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention and are working to have the necessary repairs completed.

We stayed 6-28-2026 until 7-4-2026. I received the check-in code before check-in time. There are 2 parking spots in front of the garage and 4 in the garage. In the garage there was a gas grill and charcoal grill, washing machine and dryer, and an assortment of beach toys. On the ground level, same as the garage, there is a full bath. There are stairs outside and spiral stairs inside going to the main level. On the main level there is a master bed/bath, two bedrooms, and a full bathroom above the garage. The kitchen, dining area, and family room are an open area. Facing the beach is a sunroom with a sliding door that leads to the deck and a bedroom with a wall of windows facing the beacch. The spiral stairs go into the beach bedroom. There was a baby gate and a few board games. In the kitchen there was a coffee maker, toaster, blender, crockpot. I may have missed a small appliance or two. Spacious deck with nine steps leading to the sand. The house was perfect for us and the host was extremely responsive. The pictures do not do this house justice. The house wad clean and well organized.

We had such a great time! The house was clean and welcoming. It was easy to feel right at home. The view of the ocean was incredible!! You walk right off the back deck onto the beach! The host was very responsive and easy to reach. I’m already dreaming about my next trip back! What I liked about the house (besides the amazing view and proximity to the ocean) was that it has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There are 2 bathrooms in the main living area, and 1 downstairs off of the garage when you enter or exit the house. To get upstairs from the garage to the main level, there is a really cool spiral staircase. At the top of the staircase you enter into a bedroom with a full size bed. Since the spiral stairs are accessible, I personally would not put young children in this room to sleep. The other 3 bedrooms are at the other end of the house in a hallway. I also liked that you can pull your vehicle inside the garage. We had 4 teenagers with us, and rented bicycles. We could park 2 vehicles and 4 bicycles inside the garage with plenty of room to spare. The appliances were very nice and the kitchen has pots, pans, and utensils. Overall the house is laid out very well and comfortably fit 4 teenagers and 2 adults. A great time was had by all!

We loved the house. Perfect for us. Beachfront. It was exactly what we needed and the rooms were perfect for all of us. Would definitely stay here again. The owners responded quickly with everything, even when we had a little issue with the air conditioning, they got someone out asap. Very quickly. Location was perfect. We love this house. Would highly recommend.

Perfect beach house

Booked this place for my family and friends beach vacation. After arriving we were pleasantly surprised. The beach house was much larger than it appeared in the photos. The kitchen was great for cooking in every night. The beach is right at your front door. My kids my family and my dog loved this place. Thank you so much. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This house was weird. The refrigerator and stove were top of the line appliances, but then so much of the house was really old and unmaintained. There were areas around windows that looked like they potentially had leaks. The toilets barely flushed. The garage door sometomes took up to 5 tries before it would close. There were not enough trash bags and not enough toilet paper for the full week we were there. It does specify in the listing that there are no linens so be aware of that. I flew in and having to buy spare linens and pay to fly them in was an added expense for an already pricey rental. I've stayed at lots of VRBOs and this host was probably the least friendly I've rented from. I asked if there were pillows available since there were no linens and pillows seemed like a "linen" grey area to me. The response was not "yes we have pillows." It was, "pillows aren't linens" which is a little bit of a rude response. I was also vacationing with my brother and his family. I was the one that booked the trip so the door code was coming to me, but I was flying in with no access to wifi. Host won't give out the code until a couple hours before the 4pm check in which made that whole scenario difficult for us since my brother arrived before me but I couldn't get him that code. Overall, I would not return to this property. This was not a budget price for NC but definitely should have been given the condition and lack of amenities other than the beach.

Thank you for your feedback. As noted in our listing, this is an older family beach house, and we continue to make upgrades each year while preserving its original character. The listing also clearly states that linens are not provided and that only starter quantities of paper products and trash bags are supplied. For security, door codes are issued shortly before the 4:00 p.m. check-in but can easily be shared with other members of the reservation party once received. We answered all questions as promptly and professionally as possible, and we’re sorry if any response came across differently than intended. We appreciate you bringing the maintenance concerns to our attention and will have those items inspected.

Beachfront

Our stay at this home was Great ! Literally right on the sand , no long walk to beach . Big spacious deck, totally gated in for pets/children such a beautiful part of topsail Near restaurants and shopping . This was our first time at a VRBO and the process was great. My communication with Nikki was rest assuring With questions I had with quick responses We will be back ! Loved our vacation

Nice and cozy

We absolutely loved this beach house. Perfect location right on the sand. It felt like being at home. We had the best weather. I would definitely enjoy staying here again. Has plenty of room and so convenient being right in the sand not having to haul things back and forth to the beach and can easily take sun breaks for a lunch on the deck. Thank you for being so welcoming to your charming home on the beach.

Summer stay

Great home, only down side was that it was pet friendly and the rug on porch and down stairs smelled like pet urine. We appreciate pet friendly, It just might be a good idea to remove rugs and so pets are not tempted. Overall, great home and wonderful host! We would definitely stay again!

Location!

It's right on the beach, and about the right distance from middle of Surf City and middle of Topsail Beach. The house itself is comfortable, has all the amenities you need. It's from a previous generation, so the wall facing the beach isn't all windows; living room can be a bit dark. But we had a great time alternating between the beach and sitting inside and reading, watching NBA playoffs, and eating and talking. Public access path is just adjacent, and that could get a bit loud, but not a problem for us. Highly recommended.

Forgot to read the entire policy. No sheets and towels were supplied. Linen rental places were all closed and we had to go buy sheets and towels at Walmart. Will read the entire policy next time when renting.

Beach front is awesome!

Our family stayed here in June 2024, the house is clean and has plenty of space. Views from the back deck are incredible and being right on the beach is the number one reason to rent this house. Fully stocked kitchen, air conditioner gets icy cold, plenty of room for two adults, three teenagers and a dog. Communication with the owner was great, they were very attentive and welcoming. The only reason we don’t give it five stars is because the house is definitely showing its age, some doors stick, the paneling needs paint in places, and the back deck needs new decking. That said, it’s easy to forgive everything because of the location and the view, we would absolutely stay here again!

Relaxation Station

It was amazing! Other review mentioned the house’s imperfections but it was exactly what I would expect for a beach house! It’s clean, it’s has air conditioning, RIGHT ON THE BEACH, huge kitchen, dishwasher, washer and dryer, enclosed garage. We come here every other year for forced relaxation. We were able to set up our chairs and umbrellas in the AM and go in and out as we wanted! There is a hose on the deck to spray off. NOTE: You must bring your own linens/towels. We used the company the owner recommended and it was at our door when we got there! It’s about 7 minute drive to the pier area where everything is, it is not realistic walking distance. I would 100% stay again. The beach area is also the most “dead area” for perfect relaxation and not an overlap of people set up all over. Owner was quick to respond when I had questions. 10/10

Needs Maintenance

Unfortunately, the interior of the house was in need of significant maintenance. There was visible water damage on the living room walls, hallway, and bathroom. The mold and mildew were particularly noticeable in the porch bedroom and the downstairs bathroom which is accessed via a very narrow spiral staircase. There is a beautiful view from the inside porch, however they have a film on the sliding doors that bubbled and deflects it. The doors themself have mold on them and do not open properly and the other set is screwed shut so it does not open at all. The outside stairs are broken and wobble when you go up and down them. The upstairs bathroom exhaust fans do not work at all. This house is spacious and the location is right on the beach. The back bedrooms were nice, it has a large dining table, a dishwasher and plenty of seating in the living room. We did enjoy our stay, I just wish the property would have been maintained better; that is the reason for a lower review.

Hi Lisa, We had just had a horrible storm prior to your stay and unfortunately the humidity on Ocean front property is rough on any beach house. We wish you have sent pictures and brought up these issues during your stay as we would have sent someone out to look into them. I will add that when the property was cleaned after your stay no one reported mold and there have not been any complaints of mold from prior guests or even from our most recent guests.
