My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Daniel and Grace’s place. The home was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Daniel and Grace were kind, responsive and made everything easy. We would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

What a great place to stay in an excellent location. Very clean and spacious. There is a very nice dog park only a few blocks away for your furry friend. Check in was easy and the host was very accommodating. We will definitely be back.

This is a lovely cottage in the heart of a residential area. Close to Santana Row. Clean, neat, and a well stocked kitchen. Pet friendly and quiet. The hosts are kind and communication is quick and easy. The shower was a bit of a challenge and some comedic relief to the event (I turned the wrong knob and gave the entire room a shower). Back in when you park for easier departure, there are cars parked on the street that make it a bit difficult to see when you’re backing out. The owners are friendly and helpful!

Cute house across the street from an elementary school, but driveway parking is provided.Great general location and well-appointed. However the listing is a little inaccurate. It states “dryer” under laundry amenities. I assumed that meant washer&dryer, but there are no machines in this unit. Other issue is that there is a seemingly unlocked door leading to another unit behind a curtain. I would have felt better if it had 2 dead bolts like a hotel room. Otherwise, a good property for pets or kids.

Perfect Host

This is a cute little house, the perfect stay for two dogs - exactly what the listing says. The host is quick to respond and very pleasant, the neighborhood is active, there are schools in the area and very nice for an evening stroll.

They were coming into the house when I left for the day only to come back and find the toilet seat up, a black iPhone in the kitchen and things missing, when I checked in there was NO THERMOSTAT! They insisted that I must close the windows when it was 80 degrees outside. There were men’s belongings that were not removed yo my stay. Do not stay here! These people are crazy!

We reviewed our security footage and smart lock logs and confirmed that no one entered the unit during the stay besides the guest. The thermostat was present and functional before check-in. We encourage guests to contact us during their stay so concerns can be addressed promptly.

It didn't state that it was directly across from a school and has school pick up and drop off. The street was quite busy most of the day. Also, did not realize there were other units so lots of people going in and out of property.

The kitchen sink, refrigerator, dishwasher facias were all dirty and streaked. Wine glasses were all dirty and had to be cleaned before they could be used. Medicine cabinet in master bedroom had dirty shelves. After one week we requested clean sheets for master bed. While stripping the bed we discovered there was no mattress cover just a hunk of foam over the thin mattress which was covered in hairs and such. When retrieving a phone that slipped between seat cushions we discovered a lot of dirt and debris under the sofa cushions. Needless to say the small apartment needed a lot of attention before we could get comfortable.

Not expecting to have multiple rental un same building

We can hear next door rental, especially from the bedroom where we can here water running from the shower and guests would take multiple night showers which wake us up during our sleep. 😞 Kitchen and living room were fine. Air conditioning was quiet. Very well situated near highways but not too close to hear the noise. Quiet surrounding.

The picture of the "room" with the fold out bed is actually the entryway and the bed was covered in dirt and hair on the inside. The bed in the bedroom slumped to the middle and was not comfortable. The shower was not functional for much of our time there. Someone came out to fix it but we continued to have problems with it. The space is separated from the other half of the house that is a separate unit by a curtain with a bookshelf in front of it. The chairs were all badly stained and the place just wasn't very clean.

Slumlord

Shower broken, no wifi info provided, no soap provided, “bed” is a stack of foam pads, ants throughout (including in the bed). Multiple calls texts and messages unreturned. Host dishonest (snd possibly a bot?), claimed to be only blocks away but ppty manager says he’s in Thailand. Request for late check out denied ostensibly because of same-day guests then an hour later asked me if I wanted to buy an additional night. When I finally reached ppty manager all I got was confirmation that the shower didn’t work and a bottle of some non-soap liquid in a soap container. Battery alarm triggered by power outage made house uninhabitable on last day. Finally got access to a shared shower in back where the landlord seems to be running a tenement with people living in tiny apartments that don’t appear to meet the state minimum required living space of 120 sq ft. Lights flicker on randomly. Host never acknowledged lack of shower. His only response was to provide me with the wifi password, four hours after I checked out.

Overall my stay was fine for what I needed, but I ran into several issues during my stay. Firstly, the most glaring issue that is not listed on the property is that this is a full house that is split up by a non lockable door, covered by a curtain, with a bookshelf in front of it. The other half of the house is a rental property as well and you can hear the other renters relatively easily through the wallsSecond, I read from the other reviews and asked the host for clarification on the dryer that I’d listed, and they confirmed that there is currently no laundry appliances even though a dryer is listed. This was not a major issue for me but just a heads up. Third, while the co host was quick to respond, it felt that they often didn’t have an answer for questions that I was asking. Things like “where does this mystery door go?” and “Can I get extra towels” all came back with responses of “Let me check with the team”. They also said they’d get back to me shortly and that did not happen and often took hours. Honestly not a huge deal for me since they were just general questions, but it took nearly 3 days to get extra towels since they are not available on the property and since I was not told when someone would bring them. Lastly, overall the house was clean, there was plate of cheese in the microwave that I ended up washing, but I did wake up to ants in the bedroom/in the bed one day during my stay. Again overall my stay was fine, not sure I’d rent again.

This was by far one of the best places I have been to. Modern, clean and located close to everything San Jose has to offer. Wineries, good food and coffee. Recommended for anyone staying in the bay area
