It was a great place to stay. It was clean and easily accessible for us with plenty of room, a great view and plenty of ammenities. I would stay there again.

“Pet friendly” Doesn’t mean not well cleaned.

From the first moment I walked in all you could smell was fog urine. The owner was very responsive the first time I communicated. They sent an “inspector” out with a spray that lasted several hours. Then the smell came back. We eventually discovered the couches were filled with urine, fur, and dander. The landlord. Never followed up to see if we were ok.If you let your dogs piss on the furniture this place is for you.

Cousin's Camp

Our family from Alabama, Mississippi and Colorado get together each summer for Cousins Camp and we have stayed at Lost Key the past four years. Awesome experience each time!!!!

Great stay

The owners have beautifully decorated this home. They have provided everything you need to cook in or out on the grill. There were pool/beach toys and 2 wagons. We didn't use any of those but if you had small children these would be awesome to have

A great place for a family vacation

Herons Crossing was a perfect setup for our family. The condo was so spacious, clean and ready for our arrival. A three generation family spring break was made possible by this well appointed condo. With a bedroom and bath for each adult couple and a bunk room and bath for the grandchildren, it simply could not have been better. The well equipped kitchen had all of the pots and pans, cooking utensils, silverware, dish and glassware needed for a large family gathering. We took advantage of the beach and beach club, the swimming pool, and the Lost Key golf course. (a beautiful and challenging course). From the entrance gate keepers, to the shuttle drivers, to the staff at the beach, to the staff on the golf course, we found all to be so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They genuinely seemed to enjoy working at the resort and wanted to make it a great experience for you. Though it was spring break, the resort was very chill. The resources we needed: grocery, fish market, pharmacy, and close proximity to the National Seashore and Johnson beach could not have been better. The resort provides a shuttle service to and from the beach clubhouse. This made it so easy to move everybody over to the beach and not have to hassle with parking. The location of Herons Crossing also meant that the beach club and the swimming pool were within easy walking distance. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch off of the living room. It was a great place to hang out and have great family conversations or quiet morning coffee.

Simply not good

The check in process was not “seamless”; We had the wrong code and had to call the “toll free” number which was someone who was not onsite nor did not understand our questions. Not to mention it was 90+ degrees with kids and a dog. The property was dirty and had been “half cleaned”. Popcorn, food, trash as well as dirty linen and towels were left behind. Plus the freezer was not getting cold and the ice maker was not working so we had to purchase bags of ice. The bunk bed slacks were broken and my 14 year fell through the bed. Called maintenance and they finally showed up but showed up at 4:30 the next day which was a total inconvenience, then they (maintenance) called the night before we left!!! I would not recommend this property AT ALL!!!! We had to clean before we even unpacked! No response from management, not happy….

Heron’s Crossing Perdido Key 1st Beach Trip 2023

We decided to venture out of orange beach and check out Perdido key. This rental is cute, quiet, convenient and the shuttle services was so nice to have and truly does run throughout the day with minimum wait. Beds were so comfortable, rental is stocked with kitchen essentials and more which makes cooking in so much easier when you want to avoid long waits at restaurants. The beaches in this area are clean and water is beautiful and the natural habitats for marine life are all around and well protected perfecting for your observation and admiration. Overall we enjoyed our stay and experience here.

Memorial Say Weekend

Excellent property in a quiet resort neighborhood. Nice screened in patio that was enjoyed at all times of the day. The closest resort pool is .5 miles and resort beach access is a 1 mile from property. We did not use shuttle service. There is limited parking at the pool area and at the closest public beach. Lost Key Golf Course was in pristine shape and a tough test of golf. Wound return again.

We really enjoyed our stay! We felt safe and loved the amenities! The beach is just a short trip located across the street! Check in and check out was easy! The host and manager manager were very responsive and accommodating to us! A great place to visit!

Great beach, Nice Community, but Unit needs some work

There are many great things about the unit, but there are quite a few items that need sorting. It is a unit that allows pets and we understand that will cause the quality of the furniture to be degraded, or not be the top of the line, but much of the furniture was really cheap and worn out. The kitchen had a great supply of appliances, but there was a lot of missing utensils in the kitchen. We made it work. The garage door did not close with the remote. The carpets were dirty in many places and I had to unclog one of the bathroom sinks because it was totally clogged. The unit came with two gate cards and one did not work. I had to call Vacasa about 5 times over 2 days to get the second one replaced. It was eventually resolved, but it took too long. We have stayed at another unit of the same floor plan and it was much more nicely appointed with furniture, linens and decorations than this unit. Overall, I would recommend Vacasa and the unit, but I would advise Vacasa to do some maintenance on the unit to bring it up to spec. For the fees and price of this unit, those details should be looked after without the guests finding these issues.

Beautiful home!

The home was beautiful and spacious, and for some reason we got it for a great rate. It sleeps 12, but there was only two of us and a French bulldog! The location was great and even though we didn't use it, they had a shuttle going to the pool and the beach. What I didn't like about it was the check in process, which is a Vacasa thing, the company that oversees the rental part of it. You have to get your key cards (for gate into the community and pool access) in a rickety metal box by the laundromat. It was supposed to have the parking passes and the key cards. It did not have the key cards, just the parking pass. So the security guard did let us in. By chance, I found the key cards in a drawer in the kitchen while I was putting my stuff away. It also had the garage door opener in the drawer. The only reason we got in the house was because we were sent the keypad code. Also, for all the extra booking fees and cleaning fees we paid, the house was not that clean. I understand they only have 6 hours to clean it after the last family left, but every now and then it needs deep cleaned. There were pet stains on the carpet and the banisters were disgusting. Take a Clorox wipe to it every week! Other than those two things, the house was outstanding. The owners have done a great job in decorating and supplying just about everything you need. I recommend bringing things like scissors and extra batteries for remotes as they did not have those types of things. They did not supply beach towel either, which was fine as I brought my own. They did not have good beach chairs either. Again, I brought my own but some condos supply those things.

First Time in Perdido Key

The house was well-designed and it met our needs in terms of space and layout.. The unit was clean to the initial view, but we discovered dog droppings inside under two of the beds as well as on the grounds outside. After contacting the Vacasa management office the response to our request to clean up the dog droppings outside was slow and reluctant. Finally, a rep did take some pictures (4th day of our stay). I don't believe the homeowner is aware of the 'slack' care that the unit is given.

Sunny patio, peace and quiet

We saw deer, eagles, herons, bluebirds even a turtle from the deck. When it was cold we sat below and it was warm and sheltered from the wind and sunny. Such a quiet relaxing place. House was clean and had everything we needed. Highly recommend.

Everything you could want, clean and comfy

This home had every little thing you could need- well equipped kitchen and little touches throughout that make it so comfortable. Furniture is very nice, neighborhood is peaceful and the Beach Club is so great- even if it’s not great weather, you can still enjoy sitting at the beach in comfort, drink in hand. We spent hours just sitting on the deck and patio watching the birds, even saw an eagle! There were a couple glitches with key cards and missing batteries but all I had to do was call and Vacasa took care of it.

Great property! But in need of a little work

This property was perfect: exactly what we needed. However we had two issues: one key card didnt work, and the front door keypad gave out after our first day. The house has a garage but no alternative (like an opener or a manual key) was given to enter the home. The property managers were helpful somewhat but we ended up not using their help because we just reprogrammed the garage door keypad so we could leave freely. This was my only complaint.

Lovely home

The house was absolutely lovely. It was very well stocked, and the shuttle to the beach was super convenient. Vacasa was very expedient when we had to call with a minor issue, and they sent someone to the house in less than 20 minutes. I would highly recommend this home and would definitely stay here again.
