Location is everything... 1.5 block walk to the beautiful beach sunsets over the bay, 10 minute drive to the ocean beach, shopping and restaurants of historic victorian Cape May and 18 minutes to the exciting night life and boardwalk of Wildwood. Perfect for families with children, friend-cations and romantic getaways.

Two-story newly renovated cozy cottage with fully equipped sit-in modern kitchen and 2.5 updated luxurious bathrooms. Outdoor spaces include front and side patios with seating, grill and dining area perfect for entertaining. Shaded back yard with fire-pit, seating and hammock.

Living room has a sectional sofa, 50' TV and working fireplace heater with games and activities for all.
Each bedroom includes a queen/double bed, mounted television and at least one 18' air mattress for extra guests.

Beach chairs, umbrella, and accessories are available for use.

We had a wonderful stay! The home was exactly what we were looking for, and the communication with the host was excellent from start to finish. They were responsive, helpful, and made everything easy. The property had everything we needed, which made our stay comfortable and stress-free. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay!

Walls need painted up. Beds are not comfortable at all. Up stairs is very warm need fans to stay. Storm door was not working properly when I used it . Needs new cylinder replaced and put on properly.

We are sorry that you experienced issues with your stay. Doors were found to be broken after your stay and repaired. The house has air conditioning throughout so we are unclear as to the comments about fans. We did have cleaning staff address your issues during your stay but had reports from other members of your party that there were no problems.

The location is lovely, a quick walk to the Bay side beach. But when we arrived, it appeared as if the cleaners stopped mid-clean and just left. I contacted Denise and the cleaning person came back to pick up her things and told us it was all clean. Upon further inspection, it was very clear that it was in desperate need of a deep clean and they didn’t finish. Ant traps everywhere filled with dead ants and dead ants all around the traps, so they clearly did not properly clean the floors. There are no mattress protectors on any of the mattresses and the mattress topper in the master bedroom is covered in stains. Absolutely disgusting. There was only a sheet on the mattress topper, not on the mattress itself. We contacted Denise about the cleanliness and mentioned the ant traps and mouse traps we found. She told us there were no mice, it was preemptive and then told us she would try to get someone else to clean. We told her we weren’t comfortable with anyone being there when we weren’t and she responded saying they just left which was extremely unnerving and left us stressed the whole trip that they would show up again while we weren’t there. We then found mouse poop in the living room right where the kids were playing the night before. We vacuumed ourselves, no crumbs or anything were left on the floor. After checking other areas of the home, we found tons more mouse poop some covered in dust so it’s been an issue for some time.

Unfortunately, in some instances we come across a guest that we simply cannot serve, no matter our best intention. This client waged continual concerning but vague and never before registered complaints to our staff for the entirety of their visit.Their messages barraged our staff day and night until 12 AM on every day of their stay. Within 30 minutes of their stay a cleaning staff was deployed. Within 24 hours of their stay an owner and second emergency independent cleaning staff was employed at great costs and inconvenience. Upon inspection NO EVIDENCE of the stated concerns were found. When an HVAC team was scheduled the guest refused despite their continual complaints. Concerns ranged from one hair in the bed, a dead beetle, dust in the HVAC system, to rodents that were never seen (and have never been reported in the home). There was only one day of the five day stay that staff was not at the home and continually found nothing out of place. As expected this client then demanded a refund which was denied as there was NO EVIDENCE of any of their complaints. We enjoy our guests and love serving the public with a lovely place to stay in an ideal location. Unfortunately these guests are not welcomed back to any of our properties.

Nice location, easy to find, cute cottage. Good for kids (the stair treads to the second floor were shorter than my adult feet and the beds up there were small - one was not a queen). Walking distance to ice cream parlors!

It is a very cute cottage. The living room was smaller then expected so hard to have everyone together. Also a little hot in the upstairs bedrooms so would bring extra fans. Loved having all the beach supplies available.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay. There is central air conditioning as well as mini-split cooler systems in each bed room so there should be no need to add/ bring fans. Cape May Cottage

Description was accurate...beautiful cottage in a quiet neighborhood conveniently located to beach, eateries and a short drive to the heart of cape may. It was perfect for our first sisters in law get together. I highly recommend this beautiful home.

We enjoyed our visit to the Whale's Tail Cottage. There were four adults and two children. Plenty of room for everyone. The only suggestion I would make is to put in the listing information that the steps going upstairs are very narrow and that needs to be considered. Otherwise, everything was great!

Stay in the villas

Great location for proximity to the beach and other shore towns. We enjoyed some mini golf and grilling.Plenty of room for us all. The oven and stove should be looked at as they didn’t seem to be functioning properly.

Nice home with all the amenities. The home was very clean, but the living room was much smaller than I expected, the beds upstairs had plastic mattress covers on them and were hot and uncomfortable to the ladies that stayed in those rooms. The water and the bathroom showers was really hot and had to turn it down quite far to be comfortable. The stairs are quite narrow and not easy to carry luggage up and down the stairs. The backyard grass was high and had not been mowed so we didn’t use that area. We had a great time during our stay, but these things were disappointing.

We are sorry you were disappointed with certain aspects of the property. We attempt to provide pictures and information that depict the property accurately. The yard is cut and tended every-other week so that renters are not exposed to the cut-grass. During times of high rain there may be delays in the service.

Very walkable spot close to the beach on the bay to watch beautiful sunsets! The stairs to the upper floor was too narrow so be careful going up and down them. Water was warm to swim in albeit a bit muddy and too shallow at low tide. Delicious dining options not too far from the rental and it felt very safe wherever we went. There was only 1 indoor dining table for eating and it crammed only 4 people into a tight corner. Our two families with young kids visited the Cape May zoo which was not only free but excellent. The beds were small and loud as they had plastic covers on all the mattresses however they provided multiple (twin sized) brand new air mattresses. Having a brand new set of washer and dryers came in handy for us. They provided so many extras like garlic powder, salt, pepper, oils, brand new towels pots pans wine glasses, beach toys, 2 adult bicycles 🚲 and the list goes on. While we wished it could’ve been a bit bigger inside (we had a big family) this rental could easily accommodate 2 small families. Everything was recently renovated inside and freshly painted as well.Thank you for hosting us we made some great family and friends’ memories!

Overall ok

While the house was super cute, we did experience some issues during our stay. There was broken glass in the backyard and the grass was overgrown. The metal screen door frame had been cut to fit a handle leaving exposed metal corners which cut one of the guests. And there wasn’t any soap in the bathrooms and the washing machine was broken. There were a few other issues as well. When we expressed our concerns we were dismissed and told no one else had complained. While Denise responded quickly, she was not receptive to our concerns. We had little kids on the property and we chose this place but were unable to use many of the “features” of the house. It is not a house I would return to.
