What a lovely cosy apartment! We had everything we needed and more.Of course the best part was the beautiful view. The binoculars were a perfect touch (we saw bald eagles!) Taft Farms has great vegetables and much more. And the Berkshire Bakery had some excellent baked goods.We had a wonderful weekend!

Clean. Well-equipped. Great view. Attentive, but not at all overbearing hosts. Currently doing some renovation to downstairs unit but was done with respect within parameters of quiet hours and wasn’t intrusive. Great stay. Would absolutely return!

View was stunning. Loved hearing the geese on the river all day long. Great location for shops and wanting to stay near Kripalu Healing Center.

My family LOVED staying here. The view was amazing but beyond that everything was so comfortable - from the beds to the space itself we felt right at home. Highly recommend! Thanks Bee!

Great stay

Location great for Tanglewood and other local attractions. Peaceful and beautiful views. We enjoyed watching the birds and the fish jumping.

Great location

We throughly enjoyed our mini Berkshire getaway at this cute property. Check in and out was very easy. Property owner was responsive when we had a question. We enjoyed an evening bottle of wine on the back balcony-gorgeous views.

Great, stay in. Great Barrington.

We had a great stay. The apartment was clean and had a great view. It was near everything but in a relaxing, tranquil environment. Bee was a fantastic host. We look forward to another trip.

Wonderful weekend ski trip

We stayed at this property for 3 nights. We were 4 adults and we were very comfortable. Communication with the owners was excellent. Great location for skiing at Butternut. We had one of the best dinners we have ever had at Adam’s Cafe in Great Barrington. I would love to come back in warmer weather and see more of the area. I definitely recommend this booking. .

Cozy With Amazing Views

We had a great stay at this cozy & comfortable two bedroom apartment. The property was perfectly located - just a couple minutes from Great Barrington & Monument Mountain & close to Stockbridge, Lenox, & Lee. The view from the back deck overlooking the lake was beautiful, especially in the morning & late afternoon sunlight. Though we never met Bee in person, she was very welcoming & communicative before and during our stay.

Amazing Stay At The River House!

My husband and I had an amazing stay at the river house! We spent a long weekend there and the apartment was clean, cute and had a beautiful view of the lake, where we watched the sunset every night. The location is great, only a few minutes to the town of Great Barrington and a 10 minute drive to Butternut Ski Resort, where we had a ton of fun. Bee was a great host and very communicative and quick to respond when we had any questions. Highly recommend!

Charming top floor of home with unbelievable river views, bird watching, etc.

Bee couldn't have been more responsive, even though she was in the hospital after an accident! The cottage itself featured a well equipped kitchen, and we found ourselves eating in and not going out--as it was so pleasant to eat on the 2nd floor deck and watch the sun set. The apartment has a cooling cross breeze. We came with my 92-year old mother (fully mobile--there are steps) and she went hiking w/ my husband while I was in rehearsals. Location was excellent with easy access to Lenox, Stockbridge, Tanglewood etc. no shortage of things to do. There was a great bakery in walking distance, and trails for hiking nearby. Also a farmstand with delicious just picked berries. We all left feeling emotionally and physically fulfilled and happy. I hope to stay here next time I come for a vocal workshop in the area.

Great Barrington stop on New England roadtrip

I loved this upstairs apartment in an old mill manager's house! Its view of the Housatonic River, especially in the morning with the mist rising around the paddling geese was serene while eating croissants from the Berkshire Mountain Bakery 1/4 mile up the road. Evenings with a cheese board on the deck's table were also ideal. The town of Great Barrington is about 10 minutes away, with many cute shops to check out. Lenox, West Stockbridge and other Berkshire towns are also close by. I strongly advise using an app like Waze to get around. There are so many roads named Lenox and Stockbridge that it was very easy to get lost. I didn't realize how many places of interest would be closed after (well-after) Labor Day. I found plenty to see anyway (the Norman Rockwell Museum is quite close, maybe 15 minutes away), so a second trip to the area will be in order to check out the things I missed. The king-sized bed was very comfortable. The only suggestion I have is to get a shower curtain with magnets on the bottom so it doesn't billow around the shower-er. Overall, a great place to stay with a very helpful and gracious host. Thank you! Neal

Eagles, Egrets and View

Location perfect for our needs. View from Deck is special. The Housatonic feeds into the pond and there is a lot of wildlife to see. The deck is good for a couple. Tight for more. You can only use the stairs to go below for emergency as it leads to the bottom deck. It was very hot when we stayed. It took 3 hours to cool the apartment when it’s 95 degrees out. There are only two small window units and a few fans. One bedroom is without. It did not affect our stay since we only used one bedroom. The floors are uneven and I recommend anyone with balance issues consider this. There are narrow stairs leading to the second floor unit. We had trouble with the tv and our host had it fixed the next day. The toaster was fussy or not working. I forgot to report that. The kitchen has most items you’ll need. The stove eyes are all downhill… interesting to cook on. Plenty of soap, detergent for dishwasher , bath towels, and paper towels, to etc. You are between the two best spots for organic produce and baked bread. Both a short distance. The home is right on the road. The bedrooms are right next to it. We enjoyed our stay for value and location.

Thank you for reviewing our special apartment. Your comments will help us be as transparent as possible so that our future guests will not be disappointed. Sorry you had trouble with the AC cooling the apartment. We will put more detailed instructions on the usage/settings as the window units are much more efficient than 3 hours for cooling the small square footage. 95 degrees is very unusual and uncomfortable for the area, especially in September but with climate change, we will need to address it. Being a renovated mill workers house, we have created a quintessential Berkshire experience. 200 year old houses have quirks and issues that cannot be changed to create a Holiday Inn experience. We feel the original wide-plank pine floors, claw foot tub and narrow staircase are all charming, authentic features of our place but are not suited for the mobility impaired. We have modernized for convenience, comfort and a fantastic view, while keeping the original, historic charm. Being close to the road is an issue we cannot control but being the only house on the pond provides privacy and a wildlife experience beyond comparison. It is a small unit and works well for a couple, small family or girls weekend away but it would be a very budget choice for two couples or 4 adults. We are proud to provide a comfortable, special experience at an under-market rate for the area. We try to accommodate free early check-in and late check-out, when available. And you are correct in that the best bakery and farm store are located within 1 mile in either direction. Thanks again for your comments and we hope you can return again!

Riverhouse Retreat

This property met all our expectations. It was easy to loccate and provided an unspoiled lakeside view as described. The second-floor apartment, though small, was cozy and comfortably furnished. Restaurants, groceries, points of interest and hiking trails all within close proximity. Great "leaf-peeping" during our stay!

Riverside Gem

Bee's place is in a wonderful location situated along the Housatonic River. With it being central to many of the towns of The Berkshires it's a perfect option for those who love to get out and explore. There's nearby hiking trails, restaurants and shopping. We found the apartment to be comfortable and stocked well with all that you need to feel at home.

Immaculate apartment and view

Very nice, country style, 2-bedroom. Immaculately clean, well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds. Whether sitting at the dining table or the small deck the view of the Housatonic River is beautiful. Conveniently located between Great Barrington and Stockbridge make sit a perfect spot for a leisurely breakfast and then head out for a day in the Berkshires.

Ideal location

Apt very comfortable for 2 people. Charming, clean and perfect location for activities and dining in the area. The view is fantastic. Kitchen needs some upgrade as not all burners on stove we’re useable and could use a few more pots and pans. Owners couldn’t be nicer and more responsive. Overall, excellent property.

I am sorry you couldn't find the stove burners working as we checked and they are all functioning perfectly. Just want to clarify for future guests that they are all working and that there are 3 sauté pans, 2 sauce pans and a Dutch oven in the pots and pans department.
