This Creeper Trail Cottage is steps away from the VA Creeper Trail, fishing with multiple rivers and a relaxing space for the entire family. This two bedroom and one and a half bath has plenty of open space. Just outside of Damascus there are plenty of outdoor options. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the beautiful mountains surrounding Taylors Valley.

Sweet stay

This is such a lovely little house. The setting is idyllic with a stream just across the street, and the house itself is so well cared for and thoughtfully furnished. I would love to come back with my husband for a weekend away.

Amazing stay—exactly as described!

Great little house. Gorgeous interior (I love the exposed beams!). We felt safe in the area, neighbor was super friendly & invited us by to see his turkeys! Definitely in the “middle of nowhere” in the best possible way! WiFi worked great, host communication was almost immediate. Stayed here for one night to drop our daughter off at college!

Amazing Rental

We loved staying at this property. Our stay was short but we will definitely be coming back. We came for work in Mountain City and its only a short distance from there! The property is back in the woods off the beaten path but appeared to be in a safe area. It was super spacious and clean with a great porch in the back. The owners were also very responsive to my inquiries and questions and even got the property ready early for an early check-in. 10/10 recommend!

Great little house

Home was exactly as described. Good for a couple or two couples without kids. The drive back would be a little tough after dark as it’s a few windy miles off of the main highway and about 10 minutes from downtown Damascus. Would book again if we were visiting Damascus.

Road Trip to Harrisonburg VA

We found On the Trail to be cozy, comfortable & homey. Everthing was clean & well stocked. If we should pass this way again, we would choose On the Trail. Water pressurelow!

The propertywas very nice, clean and well stocked with essentials like coffee and hot chocolate. The towels wer very soft and fluffy. Loved that there was a hair dryer there! Also nice to have an onsite washing machine and dryer. Loved having a bathroom for my husband and I and our son had the half bath to just need to use our bathroom for showering. Only negative there was no cell service there on the property. We could text and get online, but no cell service for making a call. That would have been nice to know before we got there. Also had to go to the community center to get the key code once we got to the property because there was no cell service and we could not yet connect in the house. Overall, nice place, very quiet and comfortable!

Cozy House

The house is so cozy and homelike. From the creek across the road to the gas fireplace to the Christmas decorations, my son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would 100% stay here again and for much longer than a single night.

Great spot!

We came for the Creeper. We did the Abington/Damascus section twice. Cozy house! Super clean! My daughter kept smelling the soaps and commenting on how sweet it was. A on everything but water pressure (which would be a D) We stayed dirty and biked again the next morning. It was absolutely perfect for us! Thanks Gabe!

Cute little place

The place was cute and clean. Easy to get to and had everything you would need. Only issue was the water pressure was very low so you couldn’t take a shower. Overall, I would stay here again.

Creepers Trail Home Away From Home

This house is amazing. You could ride the trail to the Creepers Trail Cafe and it is right behind it really! This is a great location!

Wonderful Home in the Mountains

We appreciated this beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable home! There were so many nice touches (e.g., complimentary coffee, bottles of water, a bottle of wine, a bowl fresh fruit, and more) and the host was responsive to our needs. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to come back!

Enjoyable

Great place. Not sure how much the recent flood affected water pressure but it was very low, especially in the shower. Not sure if I just missed the details in the description but there was no soap for the shower. Beds were a little too soft for us but not a deal breaker. Other than that, nothing but good to say. Fridge was stocked with water; Keurig with different coffee flavors, hot chocolate, and cider.

Great place to land for an overnight stay!

If you really dig a very rural setting (Like we do), then this is definitely a great place to stay. The house was incredibly clean. Easy and quick communication with the owner(s) of the property. Cool little creek across the road that was really flowing good when we stayed making the stream pretty loud which was relaxing to hear. Very quiet “neighborhood”. Very pretty interior with exposed ceiling that looks great. The metal porcelain kitchen sink countertop was a fantastic touch as well. Cutely decorated and I can’t speak highly enough of his clean it was. If there is any complaint it’s the water pressure, but not at the fault of the owner. It’s very slow and weak pressure. Just know that if you book this very fun and nice place to stay——that you will absolutely need to adjust your “getting ready times” to be much earlier than you originally anticipate you should. It will take you a while to wash off soap, shampoo, etc. Beyond that, the stay was fantastic and can’t brag enough on the property. Would absolutely visit it again if/when we are back in the area.

A Most Wonderful Magical Place to Stay

The place was awesome, very clean, well furnished, and everything in the kitchen you would need and then some! The beds were great (and I am picky about a good bed) If you like Coffee or Tea they have a great coffee area (fully stocked!!) Full size frig and stove and Dinning room table. They even had a bowl of fresh yummy Apples on the table. The neighborhood was great and right near the "Virginia Creeper." We will probably rent again sometime. The restaurant's in town were good, We liked "Wilson's CafĂŠ". It was our Anniversary, their homemade food was perfect for us. Also the scenery was beautiful up in the Mts. The hiking was nice and by the way a lot cooler up there as we hiked. So all in all it was a really nice 3 days!!! Try it you will like it.....
