Annual girls weekend

We absolutely loved our stay at your house. It was clean and cozy. It fit our needs well and exceeded our expectations. The owner was wonderful to work with. We would definitely recommend this place.

Good location for our needs

It was a good location for our needs. We stayed there last year and was pleased but this year the house needs some deep cleaning and maintenance done both inside and outside.

Great place

We really enjoyed our weekend stay. The house was very clean and plenty large enough for two couples and a 10 year old. We went to Mammoth Cave and really enjoyed our weekend. Thank you so much.

Flood fishing trip

Cabin was great. Nice layout and perfect location. Unfortunately we stayed during torrential rains and record flooding. We would love to try it again one day under better circumstances.

House was beautiful!! We stayed 2 nights of the 3 nights because, the beds were awlful like boards, the lake access is way down the road and its a private access that has steps down this huge hill. The picture on the web site are very misleading of a lake front house, ITS NOT!! The water was 5 feet below so you couldnt get to the dock or swim anywhere because of the drought. So our fishing trip was pretty much ruined. The house furniture is nice but alot of wear and tear on the couches and chair were not comfortable either. All the toilets had rings around them , cob webs, all the rugs needed to be vaccummed. Bath tub I had to clean before our use. Definitely need a good cleaning. We played the games and watched alot of movies!! Will not be back but we made the best of it. Left a day early cause we litterally could not sleep on boards again. So we paid alot of money for 3 nights to do nothing!!

Great trip

We were able to have family with us. Home was big enough to have our entire 11 if we wanted to. We had 4 adults and two children under 12 with us. Did not feel crowded

Awesome place to stay at Barren River Lake

Everything about this home was excellent. The home itself is just beautiful and the location was great for us. The communication with the property manager was smooth, and she was very responsive. We really appreciated that we didn't have to supply our own bedding or towels, and the house had absolutely everything that we needed. We hope to be able to stay here again when we come back to KY next year.

This is our 3rd stay in this beautiful home. Everything was great (washer wasn't working, but we were advised in advance, so it wasn't a big inconvenience.) There is a part of the kitchen floor that has become warped and this occurred since our last stay - but it isn't a big issue.

Excellent beautiful home

We once again had a great stay in the well-appointed, beautiful home. Very comfortable with all of our needs met, with one exception - the Wi-Fi service was very spotty and we had difficulty getting a connection at times. Otherwise, everything was perfect - thank you!!

Spacious Home

Space for a family of 5. Good kitchen space. Large, clean fridge. Lots of bath towels. Neighborhood was quiet for March/April. Owner was very responsive during weather related issue (high winds).

Quiet Allegiance Scenic Views

Quiet Allegiance Scenic Views This overview of "quiet allegiance scenic views" truly lives up to the way we felt staying at this rental! The 3-bedroom home offers breathtaking views of of nature, a short distance from the lake, which we enjoyed. We also savored coffee on the spacious wooden deck. The deck was furnished with comfortable lounge chairs and a dining table, perfect for relaxing and enjoying meals outdoors. The interior was beautifully decorated in fruniture that appeared both formal and cozy with plush seating in the living room. The kitchen was incredibly well-stocked with everything we needed to cook, including a pod coffeemaker, spices, salt, pepper, all dishes, utensil, pots and pans you'd need. We were especially impressed by the abundance of soft, fluffy towels – a luxurious touch! We spent part of our days shopping in Glasgow. In the evenings, we relaxed on the deck, enjoying the peaceful ambiance. This property provided the perfect escape from the everyday, and we can't wait to return!

Misleading Photos/Maintenance Needed

This property needs a bit of TLC. Outdoor areas were not maintained, furniture weathered/worn. The lake slip was non-existent because the water level of the lake was so low. The photo of the lake view/slip was misleading and should be removed from the listing. The house has many spaces with cobwebs/dead bugs on steps and in corners. Many small things in the house were not repaired (towel & paper towel bars). The interior is accurately pictured. If you're planning to "hang at the lake" this property does not allow for that unless you drive to another location. The distance to Mammoth Cave is about a 45 minutes drive. Also, the street this home is located on has several other tired looking homes. One street over is a very nice lake view street that you can walk to. The benefit to this home is affordability. If you're on a tight budget it'll do.

Almost 5 Stars

The pictures in this listing are spot on. Everything is as shown. This is a reasonable drive to both Cave City and Bowling Green and has the added attraction of being very near the lake. Keep in mind, it is not directly on the lake but rather in a wooded area that is close to the state park beach and boat ramps. Maya has a great guest information book put together with maps of the surrounding area and attractions. The only thing we had a hard time locating was the boat dock. The lake is very low and the dock could not have been used as such but we just wanted to go down and look. The things that keep me from rating this place five stars: The lock box for entry is a bit difficult to open and should be replaced. There were not enough paper towels or toilet tissue to get us through our 3-night stay. (2 adults, 2 children) Some of the battery operated things, like one of the TV remotes and a clock, needed batteries replaced. The two adults took showers back to back and the second shower was only warm, not hot. The ice cube maker was working but the dispenser was not. It was blocked with solid ice. The gas grill igniter was not working. The grill has seen better days and probably should be replaced. We decided against using it. Despite those inconveniences, I still plan on sharing the listing with a friend who is interested in visiting the area in the summer. Nice place for a family or two couples.

Good place to stay

Sulfur smell inside was strong at first but got better. Outside of house needed a good cleaning . Overall great stay, would stay here again.
