Hidden Castle: Secret Rooms, Sleeps 20, Hot Tub

The Hidden Castle invites you to explore secret rooms, traverse narrow passageways and take in up close and personal views of the famous Grandfather Mountain. You’ll soak in the hot tub enjoying the view. Stroll the grounds and surround yourself in stacked stone walls covered in moss that are forty years in the making.

Whether you’re enjoying dinner with friends and family on the 800 sqft deck or you’re resting up from a day out and about, this will be the stay that you won't soon forget.

The Hidden Castle is a 5500 square foot home centered around a 40' stone turret. Each room has been carefully designed and furniture curated with guests in mind. The seven bedrooms sleep a maximum of twenty guests with five full bathrooms across three levels (two on the top, two on the middle, and one on the bottom). The top floor has its a primary suite with a queen bed and attached full bathroom. Also on the top floor, guests will find two bunk rooms, each sleeping four guests over four twin beds. The second bunk room can be found hiding behind a hidden door that masquerades as a book case.

On the main level, guests will enjoy a luxurious primary suite with an enormous wet room, complete with dual showers and a soaking tub. In addition to the primary suite on the main level, guests will find another bedroom with a queen bed. The main level also hosts a large living room with stone fireplace with neighboring grand windows that frame in the classic Grand Father Mountain profile.

The main level boasts a well stocked kitchen with plenty of flatware, drink ware, silverware and appliances. In addition to the conventional kitchen and cookware, guests will find a well stocked coffee bar as well as a unique cocktail station with mini fridge ready for your wine beer and other cool beverages.

In the lower level, guests will find an additional complete and fully stocked kitchen, open living space as well as a library in the round at the base of the turret. In addition to these, guests will find a large bedroom with two twin beds, another bedroom with a queen bed and finally, another full bathroom with bathtub and tile surrounded shower.

The Hidden Castle is located in an ideal location Appalachain State University is just 11 miles from our door. The quaint and highly rated Downtown Banner Elk is just 4 miles away. Grandfather Mountain State Park and the famous swinging bridge is just 8 miles from our door. The famous Blowing Rock (voted the best place to view fall colors) is just 17 miles from our door.

Being right off of Hwy 105 means that we have quick and easy access to every thing that the High Country has to offer. Our easy access and proximity to the highway does result in some road noise that some guests may notice.

The driveway is asphalt and accessible year round. Although, during winter weather, it is recommended to arrive in a vehicle that has 4x4 or is equipped with snow chains. When we have winter weather in the forecast, I do my best to communicate with guests to ensure proper preparation and have a safe and easy arrival.
