Whether you’re craving quiet morning coffees by the water, backyard fun with the kids, lakeside sunsets, or a place to spread out between UF events — this lakefront pool home truly has it all. We are in an extreme drought currently and the lake is down several feet below normal levels. Larger boats above the size of a “bass boat/stump knocker” may have issues with launching at the boat ramp. The majority of the lake ranges from 10-15 feet deep currently, but the boat ramp itself is down to 1 or 2 feet deep around the boat launch area.

The house was spectacular, just like the pictures. The property was private and had beautiful views The host was so friendly and accommodating. The house was clean and well equipped. The grandchildren were so excited with all the house and pool toys. Everyone had a great time, looking forward to the next time!

Awesome place

Our family of 6 stayed for a few nights the end of May and it was a great place for our family. The pictures are accurate. The bonus play room was a great added plus for the few rain showers we got. Our son fished a lot and caught over 50 fish, we brought home 30 something. Pool was a great plus for our baby and they even had a baby float! Communication with our hosts was smooth as can be. Would definitely recommend staying here and we will absolutely be back.

We loved our stay here! There was so much to do including fishing, swimming, basketball, the game room, puzzles, and board games. We really loved the salt water pool! The property is a straight shot to UF and only takes about 40 minutes. The hostess was wonderful and we hope to stay here again soon!

The house and property were in excellent shape. The pool was a definite PLUS, clean with nice sitting area poolside. The only negative was there could have been more dishes and a larger coffee pot for a place rated for 9 people. Otherwise, it was excellent!

Relaxing place with a beautiful view of the lake!!

We stayed with some family and we were all comfortable and enjoyed the views. There is really nothing to do around but that’s what we were looking for. We wanted to stay in and just relax, fish and swim. The pool was smaller than we thought but we still enjoyed it. The owners were super nice and accommodating! Would stay again. 😊

Lakeside with pool

Lake Ida is a serene lake. The pool catches the lake breeze and gets afternoon shade. Life is good waking up to the morning sun with access to a lake and a pool! The house is spacious, with plenty of room to spread out. Nearby Hitchcock Market was a well-stocked grocery store. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing, splashing in the pool, and playing games. Time flew by as we made memories.

Interlachen

The house could have been a little cleaner. The pool was very dirty, not useable and no one ever showed up to maintain it. I would recommend getting a pest control contract on the house due to bugs inside. Location was great, lake behind the house is also nice.

Thank you for your feedback. Cleanliness is always a top priority for us—our home is professionally cleaned before each stay, and we’ve recently added an extra walkthrough process to ensure everything is in great condition. We’ve also increased our pool service schedule, though in Florida some leaves from the surrounding trees are inevitable. Many guests actually love those trees for the privacy they provide in the backyard. We also have regular pest control, and while an occasional dead bug can appear, it’s simply a sign that the treatment is effective. As someone who truly dislikes bugs myself, I take great pride in keeping the home at a standard my own family enjoys—it really is our home away from home. After our conversation, it seemed the bigger concern wasn’t so much the items mentioned, but rather that I hadn’t offered a partial refund for the leaves in the pool. I care deeply about every stay and am always happy to address any concerns directly so that everyone has the best experience possible and we are always making upgrades and improvements.

My stay at your Vrbo was fun because of the pool; however, it was very disappointing that the house was not clean. The carpet was filthy, and I could not use the bathtub as the water was yellow. The upstairs balcony had four large wasp nests. There were so many wasps flying around that I could not let the kids out there at all. The amenities were extremely cheap. The barstools and end tables had screws falling out, and the BBQ was incredibly dirty. I definitely would not stay there again."

We always want our guests to feel comfortable and cared for during their stay, so we take all reviews seriously. We’re surprised to hear your comments regarding the carpet and furniture, as our home is professionally cleaned and started after cleaning inspections prior to stays and we have not encountered issues with loose screws. That said, we’ll certainly double-check to ensure everything is in top shape for future guests. As for amenities, we aim to provide a fun and relaxing experience with our saltwater pool, private lake and fully equipped game room. The basketball game is a standard arcade-style setup, which may feel lighter than commercial equipment, but we find it adds to the variety of activities for families and groups. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts, and we’ll use your feedback to keep improving. Our goal is always for guests to leave with great memories of their time here.

Our family has lived in the area all of our lives going back as far as our great-great grandparents! Needless to say we love our small town and wanted a little retreat from the hustle of our daily lives while still close to home and our businesses. Being at the lake brings a sense of calm with the beautiful views, the breeze on the porch or the balcony and so many activities for our 2 boys to keep them entertained! We also love hosting family and friends here and bringing the boat as the neighborhood boat ramp is so close by and very quiet! While the property is very private we are surrounded by wonderful and kind neighbors, many of whom reached out immediately after we bought the property to welcome us! Another thing we love about this area is the local dining and coffee shops. I love giving recommendations to guests on places to eat and local activities during their stay! Hosting has been so fun, it’s been very heartwarming hearing that guests have also enjoyed our home as much as we do!

The views from this house are absolutely spectacular, especially from the balcony and at all times of the day! The easy access to the lake is unbeatable, walk down the dock and hop on a boat or use the steps to swim or fish right in the water. We personally love to put our chairs in the water and relax while our boys fish. We have a paddle board at the house that guests are welcome to use! The house has plenty of space to host family gatherings which is one of our favorite pastimes at the lake. The ample parking also makes hosting a breeze. The yard is very spacious as well, our boys love to run around in the yard playing sports and having picnics during the colder months when they don’t feel like swimming.
