Guests at River Cottage have access to the entire home, the front porch and yard, and backyard with patio, herb garden, fire pit, and river view.



The Neighborhood:

River Cottage is located on a residential street in the heart of Great Barrington with walkable access to several grocery stores, outstanding restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, yoga, and more. You're also close to hiking, skiing, arts and cultural institutions. During warmer months the Great Barrington Farmer's Market operates every Saturday from 9am-1pm, providing the opportunity to cook family meals made with locally-sourced organic produce without getting in your car!



Guests at River Cottage have access to an easy walk into town via the pedestrian-only Cottage Street Bridge.



Getting Around:

River Cottage is approx 2.5 hours from Boston and just under 3 hours from New York City. You'll need a car to get here and get around the Berkshires, but downtown Great Barrington is just a short walk away! The house has moderate cell service, but the surrounding areas are full of cellular dead zones. We recommend downloading the region's online maps to your device prior to your arrival or any day tripping you do while you’re here.
