The cabin was very nice! The location was excellent. Very peaceful and quiet. The wooded area added to the view. Lots of wildlife to watch and enjoy as well as the sound of the river.

The property is great. Quiet neighborhood. Saw deer, turkeys and bunnies. Loved sitting on the decks listening to the river. Would recommend this property to anyone.

Loved the peaceful neighborhood, gated community. Great PickleBall in town with friendly people! We had the wings at Chevells on Wednesday a dollar wing! YUM!

Great stay!

The cabin is so so clean which is important to me. It is equipped with everything you need for your stay. It is right on the water for a beautiful view which made for a perfect relaxing long weekend.

Mountain River Getaway

This home is conveniently located near everything you need and want in Murphy while also feeling secluded. There is plenty of beds and space for the entire family with very comfortable living room furniture. I appreciated the handicap features in the main level shower for my elderly parents. If you are looking for a quiet getaway near the convenience of a town, this is your place. Bring some games and enjoy the sound and view of the river!

Beautiful Family Vacation Spot!

Our family has visited Murphy for decades and always loved this area. We've stayed in the neighborhood where this home is located before, so we knew what to expect a little bit for the area. The cabin is beautiful and has all the comforts of home! It was incredibly clean and ready for us upon arrival. Our family loved the HUGE wrap around porches with the comfy furniture and especially the bar-height adirondack style chairs. Our kids loved the daily visits from the local Canadian geese gaggle that kept us entertained with their shenanigans around the yard. Being right on the Hiwassee River is really awesome. The kids loved to swim in it (with lifejackets), and the adults waded around to stay cool in the summer heat. The cabin is also really close to lots of great outdoors hikes, creeks, national forests, rafting, and shopping in downtown Murphy. You feel like you are away from everything, when you are really about 5-10 minutes from Murphy at most. We will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful spot on the river. Caught fish, firepit, slid down the hill, awesome porches, gated community, no neighbors close. There was some construction across the river happening, which was a bummer. But overall the outside was stunning. Inside was very clean and well taken care of. I gave 4 stars because all the shower curtains were gross. I also had to wipe down all the wall switches from visible grime. But everything else seemed clean. Updated bathrooms and kitchen appliances were good. Had ample supplies of everything and well stocked with regular household items. The upper room was a loft with no blinds, so that was a bit bright, but worked for our family. Nice laundry available. Appreciated the dish detergent/new sponge/dishwasher soap in the welcome kit. Nice touch. We will be back! We didn’t spend too much time outside of the cabin, but did enjoy the Murphy River walk. Ingles and walmart not too far. Big Nicks bbq was good.

Life on the talking river

We had a great time during our month long stay at the Talking River Chalet. The weather was perfect, and we spent a lot of time on the river, exploring the area and a Knife making class at John C. Campbell. We loved the expansive windows that helped to bring the outside river view, in. Another favorite of ours was the kitchen, there was ample space for the two of us to cook together. Everything is new, and everything works. I was concerned about internet speeds, since I work from home, but the connection is solid and video meetings worked great. Overall, a perfect getaway—we would definitely stay here again! Mary and Corey

This cabin surpassed our expectations! It is right on the river and private. There was a beautiful space for outdoor dining and relaxing, and the inside of the property was homey and comfortable. Everything was clean and organized and ready for guests! I would highly recommend to families wanting a relaxing stay away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Beautiful Mountain Vacation

Beautiful, incredibly clean cabin. Fit our family with ease. We all loved the huge porches and often found our teen hanging out on the lower porch. Very comfortable beds and furniture throughout. Swimming in the river and fishing was a fave pastime of the kids. Easy access and very quiet even with other homes around. Loved the accessible bathroom on the main floor as it helped our elderly parent so much. Murphy is one of our favorite places for a mountain trip with our family. We are already talking about renting the same place for next year.
