Second time we've stayed in this cottage with a great location on Miramar Beach. Very comfortable, cozy, and convenient to activities in Montecito and Santa Barbara. And a much better bargain than the local hotels!

Clean, well maintained, well stocked kitchen and beach supplies, great beach front location with designated parking, within 5-10 minute drive of restaurants and shopping, comfortable queen bed and pullout couch with ample towels and linens, clear instructions before arrival, multiple spare keys, full size toiletries provided, Lush garden landscaping with thoughtful pathway lighting after dark made the location feel safe. A short Amtrack passenger train runs by nearby a few times a day, but not overnight. I would plan another vacation around staying in this cottage.

Beach retreat

Never stayed steps from the beach like this! It was a mother/daughters trip that was perfect. We would definitely recommend!

Amazing

This small cottage was everything we wanted and expected. The access to the beach was literally steps away, the cottage had everything we needed as a family, and the communication on how things worked or where things were on the property was great. I could not say anything bad about our experience and we can’t wait to stay again.

Montecito Beach Cottage

This VRBO is a very cozy cottage, steps from Miramar beach in Montecito. Although its not fancy, its very clean and has nice amenities including a very comfortable bed. Its located in a great neighborhood and close to all of the attractions near Montecito. We stayed to celebrate my birthday and had a great dinner at Caruso's in the Rosewood resort - a short walk from the cottage. We were happy, felt the price was appropriate, and would definitely do it again.

Neighborhood back yard guest quarters

Perfect for what we were looking for in size and location. Fully stocked w access to nice garden. Train passing by & whistling just yards away brings back sweet family memories. Owners live on site, don’t manage it, but are keen to allow guests as much privacy as possible. (The only draw back is the property management company, GW, it took many days to get processed with conflicting information about guest verification Co. and many frustrating calls. We stayed before and had same frustrating experience with same prop mgmt as well, till day of travel).

A slice of paradise

Having recently retired after 17 years at my job, I wanted a place near the beach to rest, relax, and recharge. The garden cottage was perfect. The unit is stocked with everything you need to prepare your meals. I chose to buy some prepared foods at the Montecito Market on East Valley Rd @ San Ysidro Rd. Pavillion Market off of Coast Village Rd. was sufficient for regular provisions. The sound of the crashing waves lulled me to sleep each night, and the birds entertained me each morning while sipping my coffee. I had no issue sleeping; I took a daily nap and was never awakened. The cottage is close to the Rosewood Miramar, Coast Village Road's restaurants and shops, Upper Village, Santa Barbara, and Summerland. NOTE: ALL beach rentals are next to the Amtrak train tracks. It's never bothered me, and they DON'T operate overnight. Positives: NO stairs from the dedicated parking spot to the cottage! Many other Miramar rentals have MANY stairs, which gets old! A dedicated parking area is within feet of the front door. The cottage is filled with light streaming through the windows and French doors. Right outside your door is a lovely lawn and garden area, a thoughtful seating area with a dining table and umbrella. The beach is a 15-second walk from the cottage. The ONLY negative, and NOT the owners' fault: I booked the cottage through Grand Welcome. Next time, I'll book the same property through VRBO.

Cute place but management company was not great

If all you care about is location, this place is amazing. Right off of Miramar Beach in Montecito California. It is just a few steps away from the beach. It feels very private and close to so much! The place is very clean and cute enough, although some things weren’t as pictured or at least, the pictures didn’t accurately show how everything was laid out. The kitchen is very minimally, equipped, but definitely adequate for such a small space. I had more of an issue with the management company. They didn’t send me any information about check-in, so I arrived at the place with no instructions. I ended up having to call and was put on hold multiple times before I got check in information which, when I finally talked to somebody, they did send over promptly. The bummer was that I happened to be staying there during a major storm and was evacuated due to weather concerns. The management company put me on hold more than eight times, couldn’t give me any information, and they refused to work with me on any refunds. I had booked this place for three nights, and only got to stay one due to the storm. I can’t say the people I spoke with were mean, but they were not accommodating. Although it’s very cute, and the location is amazing, I personally didn’t have a great experience with the rental company and probably wouldn’t recommend. I think you can get places even cuter around the same price in Montecito that have better companies to work with.

We appreciate your feedback regarding your stay at the Garden Cottage at Miramar Beach. We are glad you found the location amazing and thought the cottage was cute, clean and private. We would like to apologize for the inconveniences you experienced during your stay. We're sorry you felt the home was not as pictured or the layout was different than expected. We have upgraded the outdoor lounge chair to an L shaped outdoor love seat, but everything else is up to date. Our system shows that our automated arrival details text was sent to the number we had on file prior to check in time. Our apologies if you did not receive that and for being placed on hold when you called in. We wish you were able to stay with us during typical sunny Santa Barbara weather, but unfortunately you were with us during one of our extreme atmospheric river storms this year. We recommend travel insurance to our guests as our cancellation policy states no refunds due to weather related issues. Our apologies we could not offer any refunds and again for being placed on hold. Much of California was impacted by this storm, local staff were under mandatory evacuations as well and we had many more calls than usual. We will look into ways to provide faster service during these situations. We do hope you will give us another chance to provide you a better experience in this cottage or another one of our properties. Best regards, The Grand Welcome team.

Beautiful beachfront cottage

My family had a wonderful time walking down to the beach for breakfast and coming back In the afternoon for sunset walks. Cottage was well kept and classic Santa Barbara Spanish style. Loved out stay. Hosts were very nice and accommodating.
