The Space:

This 2-bedroom, 1.5-bath home sleeps 4 guests comfortably.

🛏️ Bedroom 1 features a king-sized bed with luxury bedding, smart TV, and private half bathroom. Bedroom 2 offers two XL twin beds that can combine into a king configuration.

🛁 The full bathroom includes a tub/shower combo with shampoo, conditioner, and body soap provided. The half bath is attached to the primary bedroom.

The fully equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite counters, and all essentials for preparing meals. Flexible dining spaces let you eat inside or out.

The den includes a smart TV and electric fireplace for cozy evenings. High-speed WiFi and streaming services keep you connected.

The backyard is the real showstopper. Native landscaping, two fruit trees, a shaded pergola with outdoor dining, and plenty of sunshine in Santa Cruz's famous "banana belt" microclimate.

Washer and dryer available for longer stays or upon request. Driveway parking for 2 cars. Light-filled rooms with modern coastal decor throughout.

📹 This home has four external security cameras for your safety. One monitors the left pathway, one monitors the right pathway, one monitors the backyard from the house, and one doorbell camera monitors the front entrance. No interior cameras.



The Neighborhood:

You're in the Live Oak neighborhood on the north edge of Monterey Bay, centrally located between Santa Cruz's best surf spots and outdoor adventures.

🏄 Pleasure Point's famous Hook surf break is just minutes away, and Steamer Lane is a short drive into town. Capitola Village, with its colorful waterfront shops and restaurants, is less than 10 minutes by car. Walk to local cafes and markets within the quiet residential area.

🌲 Nisene Marks State Park offers world-class redwood hiking starting about 15 minutes from your door. Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park is 20 minutes north. The iconic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is a 10-minute drive for classic amusement park fun.

East Cliff Drive provides stunning sunset beach walks along the coastline. Downtown Santa Cruz, with its boutique shopping, dining, and nightlife, is about 15 minutes away.



Getting Around:

Highway 1 is your main artery for exploring the Monterey Bay coast. You're about 5 minutes from the highway entrance.

Drive times: Downtown Santa Cruz 15 minutes, Capitola Village 10 minutes, Monterey 45 minutes, San Jose Airport 50 minutes, San Francisco 90 minutes.

Rideshare services are available. A car is recommended for exploring beaches, trails, and local attractions.

Great Property!

Great Stay! Place is as described. All basic necessities included (dish detergent, soap, paper towels, clean linen, clean towels). Very nice and quiet neighborhood. We loved the place and we will be recommending to families and friends!

Check in was not a good experience. Asked us to send copy of DL thru unsecured platforms that VRBO asked us not to. Took almost 2 hours to allow us inside with password. Never sent password so we couldn’t lock the door when we left. While waiting it rained on our suitcases. Wash/dryer only for 1 week or longer stay. Broom wss in laundryroom. Otherwise beautiful backyard and home. Easy to get to and from. Safe neighborhood. Large kitchen and two front rooms. It is unfortunate that they hage unique rules and check in was unsatisfactory. Check out earlier than normal at 10am. Otherwise would of gave them 5 stars.

We enjoyed our stay at Live Oak Backyard Oasis, especially the fragrant, lovely, and spacious back yard. The house is attractive, well-organized, comfortable, and roomy enough for 3 guests and our visitors (my grandson, granddaughter-in-law, and their two small children) the first evening of our 3-night stay. The house was spotless and equipped the essentials, with only one exception (no trash bag for the kitchen trash can). The house was also quiet, which surprised us due to its location, which is relatively close to commercial property and the area's main highway (and, fortunately for us, also close to my grandson and the location of our great-granddaughter's 3rd birthday party). Booking and checking in and out went smoothly, with no glitches. The property manager communicated clearly and often with us -- in fact, I received 2-4 emails/texts a day (which I found a bit intrusive). The handbook stationed at the house was very helpful, too.The pricing was reasonable for the area and the quality of the property. All things considered, it was among the best values of all available vacation homes and hotels/motels in the Santa Cruz area.We'll definitely consider Live Oak Backyard Oasis for future trips to Santa Cruz.
