Vores smukke villa fra det 17. århundrede ligger på en lille toscansk bakke; beliggende blandt olivenlunde og cypresser. Det er blevet vist i forskellige tidsskrifter og bøger for sin betydelige skønhed og arkitektur. Vigtigst kendt som et ekstremt fortryllet, charmerende paradis, hvor du kan flygte for at slappe af i den varme toscanske sol, mens du drikker i ejendommens kultur og afslappende charme. Vores magiske hjem tilbyder alt det ønskede, mens du er væk, selvom du muligvis kan vælge at udforske alle mulighederne i nærheden. Dine dage kan tilbringes med at slappe af ved poolen eller på loggien, spise alfresco, spille en række italienske elskede spil og træne i den smukke natur.
Denne autentiske toscanske villa fra det 17. århundrede ligger mellem Cortona og Monte San Savino. En tidligere ejendom af Cavalieri di Santo Stefano og Grand Duke of Toscana, blev endelig overført til den nuværende ejer.
Arbejdsområdet på fem hundrede hektar har specialiseret sig i korn, solsikke, majs og tomater, samt vindruer, olivenolie og frugttræer, inklusive fersken, pære og æble. Vi har også ridestalde, hvis du ønsker at gå ombord på din hest.
Den private cypresforede bane fører til villaen, der passerer gennem oliven- og tartufo-lunde, ridestalde og familiekapel. På fronten er der udsigt til ejendomsparken fyldt med vilde fugle, kastanje, eg og fyrretræer - organisk urt- og grøntsagshave med antikke rosenhaver og citroner. Hele bagsiden af villaen er diskret indhegnet med pool, lysthus, barhytte, grill, limonaia med bordtennisbord, omklædningsrum, vaskerum og bruser.
Vi vil dele vores foretrukne hemmelige trattoria, enoteca eller landsbyer i området. Mange uforglemmelige oplevelser som de lokale markeder, koncerter og sagraer, der afholdes hver uge i de omkringliggende landsbyer. Lev livet som vi gør - slap af og nyd alt hvad denne elskelige kultur har at dele - kunst, musik, mad, vin og lokale begivenheder.
Historiske byer som Arezzo (15 km), Arezzo Ridecenter (9 km), Monte San Savino (8 km), Cortona (22 km), Pienza (39 km), Siena (52 km), Firenze (70 km) og Assisi (85 km) er alle placeret inden for en times kørsel. Perfect Week in Tuscany!

The villa is a dream property. Our group of 13 people loved the place, it is stunningly beautiful, immaculately kept, well located and the hosts and staff are bar none. We thoroughly enjoyed lounging on the front porch with our coffee in the morning and negronis in the evening, gathering around the dining table and outdoor table for dinners, sleeping on the comfortable beds and taking walks around the property. We look forward to returning next year!

La Dolce Vita

I cannot imagine a more perfect setting or more welcoming host than here at Villa Fontarrronco. The villa is beautifully preserved, sumptuously decorated, an utterly elegant grand dame. Marcelene and her husband, Roberto, are kind, open and generous. We all felt at home and very fortunate to be their guests for the week.

Amazing stay in Tuscany

We loved our week-long stay at Vila Fontarronco, enjoying this classic Tuscan house with family. The spaces are amazing and it's situated very well for day trips to other towns in Tuscany.

Incredible Villa

Fabulous home out of another time period where you feel the warmth and history all around. We had a spectacular time with family. The owner, caretaker and staff are wonderful. We had a delicious private chef dinner out of a storybook. The surrounding towns are all so special as well. Best Tuscany villa with beautiful grounds, unique rooms and grand pool. This is an unforgettable and special place.

Most wonderful experience - an absolute must for families wanting to experience the real Tuscany.

The property itself is exceptional…a huge slice of history and the buildings and furnishings - and even the lemon trees - are hundreds of years old. The hospitality of Marcelene and her staff is unmatched. The eye for detail, thoughtfulness, and care that are invested in the guest experience is extraordinary. We traveled here with my aging parents and 3 kids during the most intense heatwave we’ve ever experienced. The pool was a godsend, always refreshing, beautiful, and very accommodating. Marcelene does think of everything… We cannot recommend this property highly enough. A truly unforgettable experience that we will forever cherish.

Simply the best.

Ticking 5 stars to each category was easy and the most accurate. 12 guests came from all over the world. The villa is breathtaking and a home but the grounds are from a movie set... places to walk through olive groves, ride bikes, visit ancient towns, dine all together outside. Our host connected us to her "go to" cook and it was wonderful every evening. In short we all have memories we will truly treasure. I cannot thank host and her team enough. The small touches and kindness shown to us made this flawless. If you are lucky enough to book this home it will be the best holiday decision you make.

Amazing Historical Villa

In September, our group of six friends had the most magical stay in this historical villa set amongst acres and acres of gardens and olive groves. We so appreciated the history of the property, which is fascinating! We were very fortunate that Marcelene and Roberto, the owners, were there. They could not have been more friendly and welcoming providing us with a beautiful welcome basket, giving us a tour of the villa and even the chapel. If you appreciate history do not hesitate to rent this gorgeous property. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone, comfortable beds, and lots of space to spread out. We spent our days touring surrounding towns and having lunch, then returning to the relaxing pool in the afternoons. As we all love cooking, we cooked dinner every night using the kitchen and provided gas BBQ. There were plenty of dishes and cookware for fabulous meals. The amazing staff at the villa is so helpful and provided us with all of our needs and wishes. Thank you so very much for sharing your magical villa with us Marcelene and Roberto. Hopefully, we will return some day or see you in CA!

A DREAM COME TRUE

We had dreamt of a joint celebration - 60th + 30th in Tuscany. An authentic and magical week with family and friends. Dreams can come true, especially if you choose the charming, authentic and magical villa hosted by owners Marcelene and Roberto. You get a sense of the graceful history from the moment you enter up the long cypress lined driveway. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts who joined us on the first and last evenings to share the history of the villa and brilliant local tips. Taxis were booked, itineraries suggested, private chef organised and birthday cakes delivered. Our celebration dinner was a real highlight. We ate outside under candlelight between the 17th century chapel and the house. A feast! Other days we visited local towns ( al within easy reach )in the mornings and headed home for lazy afternoons by the pool in the stunning gardens. If you want a beautiful authentic Tuscan week then stay here! You will make memories to last a lifetime. Thank you to Marcelene, Roberto and their amazing friendly staff, Constantine and Tiziana - we had the best week of our trip !

Pure Perfection on EVERY Level! Blessed to have stayed there. The host gets a million stars:)

If you were to dream what it would be like to be in a Tuscan Villa for a week the reality would exceed your dream! I promise. We were a family of 11 from ages 16 to 80 and all of us were blown away. Yes, by the beauty of the villa and surroundings, yes by the private chef we hired for dinner, yes by the perfumed air, yes by the day trips from truffle hunting to hunting for The David, but most of all the host Marci went BEYOND where any other owner has gone. Prior to the trip she was always available for every stupid question and during our stay she was there at a moment notice for anything and everything. The villa is spotless, furnishings are not tired they are charming, there is no musty odor as with some old homes, and the other staff is warm and wonderful in every way. The word "special" is simply not enough. Do note becuase of the configuration if all of the bedrooms are full you may have to share a bathroom but who cares. They are large, with amazing views and it truly does not matter. Before you go make sure to hire private transportation becuase you cannot count on taxis and there is no Uber. Gracie Marci for making our stay remarkable. Not just becuase of the amazing villa but because of your kindness and talent. We miss you already. The Huberman/ Sydney family. xoxoxox

Exceptional 17th Century Southern Tuscan Villa

What a find! Like nothing we've every stayed in before. This estate is truly a unique and exceptionally elegant Italian Villa; perfectly located in the Southern Tuscan countryside. Held by the same family for centuries, the interiors are stately, elegant and very comfortable. There are furnishings, painting and objects that have been collected over many years that give this mansion a truly authentic, yet uncluttered feel. The scale and appointment of the rooms and incredible space of the grand home are striking and immediately make one feel privileged to be occupying such a special space. The grounds are extensive and private. Massive doors open to covered loggias, gardens and patios. The pool area alone is an occasion and makes one feel as though they have gained access to a special private family resort. It is expansive as are the private gardens and groves of olive trees to be wondered among. Marcelene and Robert, the owners, welcomed and encouraged us to enjoy their property. Perfectly situated to explore Tuscan hilltop towns that are within easy drives. We would return in the afternoon to find the outdoor dining table, placed in the courtyard between the house and 17th century church, set for us for to enjoy a candlelight dinner. The quiet and elegance of the property transported us to the scene of a movie. Pictures do not do this property justice. The mystique of this property have to be experienced to be believed.

Unbelievable historic & gorgeous property - you can't stay here long enough

If you're not going to read the whole review, I'll summarize it here: Stay here. It's incredible. A luxurious slice of history in an undeniably beautiful, peaceful region of Italy. Unmatched hospitality on VRBO. It’s built in the 1500s – so expect that it isn’t a modern mcmansion, but a place with history and generations of care and experiences that you add to when you stay there. The pool and garden area is modern and absolutely gorgeous – if you’re not exploring the small cities nearby and want to just relax, this has everything for that. The house itself, with its giant vaulted ceilings downstairs and beautiful dining room, living room, and sitting room/whiskey room provides all of the social areas you’d need or want once the sun is down. Air conditioning is in every bedroom (and works wonderfully) and downstairs when the giant doors and windows are open the breeze kept everyone cool at night. The kitchen is modern, the full size fridge and freezer are great to store foods to make meals. There’s also a table that can be set up outside below the steps down to the garden for your group to dine under a giant tree and the stars. It’s magical. Insane. I’m not sure what else to say. Marcelene and Roberto are incredible, incredible hosts. They are always available via WhatsApp to answer questions, make recommendations, help with arrangements….anything at all. Roberto grew up down the street and this property has been in his family for many generations. They helped arrange whatever I asked for from wines and charcuterie on arrival to a chef to the magical dinner outside. They are at your disposal and believe that your group adds to the charm and history of a place that has hosted so many before you. Treat it well, embrace the history, and you’ll be enjoying a trip of a lifetime better than you imagined. I’ve been all around the world to some pretty ridiculously awesome places and yet I can’t say enough great things about this place and the experiences of that week. Thank you both for having us. We hope to return soon.

Absolute Dream!! The holiday could have not been more perfect

Fontarronco is one of the most special houses in Tuscany and we felt so grateful to the owners for opening their doors to our family. The house has an incredibly atmosphere, from the moment you arrive you feel like you are in a different world and you start to relax (our family favourite was the incredible loggia). We arrived from the UK and had to quarantine for the first 5 days, but we did not mind at all staying at home for the quarantine period as the house is so versatile, full of history, with different areas to explore and the most wonderful pool to enjoy. One never feels the urge to leave and the owners kindly organised for us to have a grocery shop ready when we arrived. All the rooms have the most elegant period charm and the way the house is set-up one can easily stay with a bigger family and everyone has the privacy they might need. The owners are possibly the kindest and most welcoming hosts we have met and they looked after us so thoughtfully from the moment we arrived. They always went out of their way to make our stay so special, they even organised catering (most delicious food all set-up in the garden from a local restaurant when we had guests join us for a dinner), a swimming teacher for the children, a doctor who came to the house ... and of course the staff of Villa Fontarronco has the same welcoming and loving attitude towards the guest. Everyone worked so hard to make our stay so memorable and I must say we created the most beautiful memories this summer at Fontarronco.

Enjoyed our visit very much - found exactly what we expected.

We were a group of 12 friends, who came from different places. There was a unanimous agreement - it is a beautiful property. Perfect for spending time either relaxing or as a base for exploring Tuscany. It was a pleasure to meet the owner Marcelene who happened to be in Italy at the time and was able to welcome us. Special thanks to the stuff of the villa - completely unobtrusive and also responsible for producing wonderful cakes every morning at a time more convenient to us than to them.

The home away from home you dream about!

We had the most wonderful stay in Villa Fontarronco! Our first impression was the Villa lit up in the evening and a table set out with candles in the patio surrounded by the stone chapel and the gardens. We were welcomed with a wonderful Aperitivo. The dinner, prepared by the chef, Ida (on request) was delicious, just as everything else she cooked. The breakfasts at the Villa were marvelous, with homemade pasteries and cakes. Not only the villa, with its gardens and pool is beautiful but the people at the Villa are wonderful. Our hosts, Marcelene and Roberto helped us with all sorts of travel tips for the surrounding area but they also came up with a birthday cake, candles and even a present for our son who celebrated his birthday there. The staff is very helpful and warm. They were very sweet with the 9 children in our group! As I said, we loved our stay at Villa Fontarronco and sincerely hope to return one day and visit again!
