Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and I’d like to start with the positives. The property is beautiful, the location is excellent, and the views are stunning. We especially enjoyed the deck, hot tub, and walking along the creek.About a week before our trip, the Sedona wildfire began. Since one of my children has asthma, I reached out to the host to ask what our options were if smoke or fire conditions made it unsafe to stay. The responses were brief, and I never received any proactive communication about the fire or the Red Flag warnings during our stay. While the fire was beyond the host’s control, better communication and empathy would have been appreciated.Although we were told the home wouldn’t be ready for early check-in, we arrived at the scheduled 4:00 p.m. check-in time and the cleaning crew was still there, so the home was not ready on time.Future guests should also know the home is stocked with only the basics. There were no coffee pods, bottled water, snacks, or condiments. While not required, these are thoughtful touches we’ve come to appreciate at many vacation rentals. Also, the primary bedroom does not have an en-suite bathroom, so the first floor shares one bathroom. Finally, bed comfort is subjective, but our family found the mattresses and pillows uncomfortable. The property itself is beautiful, and I hope this review helps future guests know what to expect while providing constructive feedback for the host.
