I have attempted to reach out to this guest concerning her negative review on Location Accuracy with no response. I contacted VRBO support to assist me in this matter also. I have never received a negative review and would like to offer help or insight on this matter with the guest. I was never contacted during the arrival that they had any concerns or complaints. I check on my guests during and upon departure to ensure they enjoyed their stay. I wish they would’ve contacted me before the review was left and I would’ve compensated accordingly.

Contractors, the day before arrival, stained the back deck and must have tripped the breaker. Problem was solved immediately! Welcome back anytime!

Bob H, we always appreciate constructive feedback, but it’s clear your review is connected to the additional cleaning fee that became necessary due to the condition in which the property was left. We take great pride in our cozy riverside cottage and in the strong communication we maintain with our guests. During your seven‑day stay, we did not receive any concerns from you—only your message stating, “We have stayed at many VRBO properties and find yours very well stocked. Thank you.” We encourage all guests, especially experienced VRBO users, to use the VRBO app to reach out during their stay so we can address any needs in real time. While we cannot post photos from a guest’s stay, we do retain documentation of the condition in which the property was left and feel it is important to make other hosts aware of what you consider standard guest behavior. To respond to the issues you raised: • Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property, and the home is cleaned thoroughly from top to bottom after every visit. • The property is secure; your only communication with us during your stay was regarding assistance with the front door lock. • The hook‑and‑eye latches in the sunroom and bathroom are intended for privacy, not security, and the accordion bedroom doors are professionally installed to provide convenient access and separation in a compact space. • The AC units in the living room and master bedroom, along with ceiling fans in both bedrooms, have provided a comfortable environment for hundreds of guests. • We supply clear instructions, both written and visual, for all utilities and appliances, and again encourage guests to reach out if anything is unclear. Regarding the natural setting: the cottage sits on a beautiful wooded lot along a natural tributary. With nature comes the possibility of pests, and we remain proactive about prevention. Unfortunately, after your departure we did encounter unwanted ants, likely due to the food and garbage left behind, and we are addressing this professionally. We kindly encourage all guests to respect the space so it remains a welcoming and pristine retreat for everyone.
