We had a wonderful time at Herons’ Cove with our grown children celebrating my husband’s 60th Birthday! It was just the relaxing and fun weekend we had hoped for. We enjoyed boating trip on the lake, delicious cook-outs, s’mores and Bonfires, canoeing, beautiful pink sunsets and hanging out in the comfortable family room just talking and playing games. Was a very fun and successful long weekend and just what we wished for.

VA Wedding Weekend

Heron' Cove is a great location with plenty of room for our family group of eight adults and four children under 10. We were in VA for our Son's wedding in Mineral, VA. The layout was perfect for our needs. We are already talking about a return trip. Fully equip kitchen (w/two refrigerators) made meals a breeze. Living room space on each floor and plenty of games/activities for the kids. The added bonus of lake accessories (kayaks and paddleboards) made for time well spent lakeside. Jay was great with communication -even sending us a weather storm warning due to hit during the outdoor wedding rehearsal. Check in and check out was seamless. Highly recommend a Lakeside stay at Heron's Cove.

We had a wonderful time during our stay! The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to prepare all meals in the home. The back yard was beautiful! There were rafts, noodles, and sand toys galore. The new hot tub was fantastic as well. The owner was very responsive with any questions we had during our stay. I would highly recommended this property to other families looking to travel to Lake Anna.

A perfect lake side escape

Our stay at the lake cabin was absolutely magical. The location was serene, with stunning lake views right from the deck. The cabin was clean, cozy, and well-equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. It's a perfect spot for a peaceful getaway, and we can’t wait to return!

Family Weekend at the Lake

This property worked really well for two families looking to relax and enjoy the lake. We appreciated having easy access to kayaks and paddleboards as well as the beach and beach toys for the kids to play with on the shore. The house was spacious with a nice kitchen and good-sized bedrooms. Providing a "smores kit" to use on the firepit was a nice touch that the kids really enjoyed. The house provided many amenities that made traveling with kids easier. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

Lovley Log Cabin at LKA

We enjoyed our short weekend stay at Heron's Cove Log Cabin. The home works well for groups with plenty of bedroom and bathroom space. We ended up using less than half the space available. The home decor is well done matching the cabin aesthetics. The outdoor areas could use a little attention with an ample amount of cobwebs around the deck and dock areas as well as weeds in the lawn and beach areas. We did assist with some cleanup during our stay. The lake and boating amenities provided are wonderful; we put the kayaks to good use during our stay. The water at the property is warm, clean and very appealing to all ages with easy access. It's a wonderful place to float and relax for hours.

Great Location and rich amenities!

This house is well maintained and has kids toys on the beach and kayak/SUP board which is really great and handy! The firepit is also great for an evening marshmallow gathering! Would love to come back again!

Perfect Wedding Weekend

We had a family wedding in Mineral and wanted to stay close by. Heron’s Cove was the perfect house to accommodate our eight family members ranging from 8months to 81 years. There was plenty of room for all of us to hang out together both inside and out. Kathy was also very helpful in allowing us to check in early so we could make the Rehearsal dinner in Charlottesville on time. We all had a wonderful time and would definitely go back.

Wonderful place for our family to gather at Thanksgiving

Heron’s cove is a very attractive cabin. Our family of 10 appreciated the five bedrooms and bathrooms—and two refrigerators, along with the well stocked kitchen. The owner was wonderful to work with.

Just Fabulous

My friends, wife and I had a fabulous time at Heron's Cove. A really cool, spacious home. A very attentive owner (even ordered for delivery wine and martini glasses!). We used the fire pit each evening. Kayaking. Swimming in the clear clear lake. Just awesome. Highly recommend.

Family Weekend

Our family was in town to visit our daughter for college family weekend. The cabin was absolutely beautiful! The layout was amazing and so perfect for an extended family. It was spacious, clean and Kathy has it stocked with everything you could possibly need. The view of the lake was stunning! Kathy was so helpful and responsive. We will be back for sure!

Gorgeous cabin! We absolutely loved our stay. Clean, spacious, great and convenient layout, and a stunning view! Kathy was very responsive and helpful too during our stay. Great weekend stay!

We were in town for a wedding. 6 couples. Kathy’s place was terrific. She had everything you needed. Like paper towels, trash bags, dw detergent. Even a s’more station complete with marshmallows, chocolate, graham crackers and skewers for roasting. Be sure to bring wood so you can enjoy the fire pit. Thank you.

Reunion of five high school girlfriends 70th birthday celebration

We were fortunate to have lovely weather mid September. Enjoying this lovely home, quiet spaces, comfortable beds, a kitchen stocked with an amazing amount of cookware and appliances (as advertised). Bedding, towels, etc top quality. Fire pit in the evening was lovely! Cannot think of anything needed that was not provided. Owner promptly responded to phone or text questions. Local El Gran Patron Mexican restaurant at Pleasant Landing was a delight. Will definitely return !

Perfect getaway

The home was perfect for our weekend getaway. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms for everyone. The home is very well kept and clean. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and more. The view is amazing. You can see the lake from almost every room. The home came with beach toys and many water “toys”. Paddle boards, canoe and multiple kayaks. No complaints or issues with the home or owners.

10 Star Property

I really would give this property 10 stars if it was possible. My family and I tend to take our vacation later in the year, Labor Day week, or a little beyond. Tends to be a little quieter, but we found in the past, the homes weren’t always very clean (bed quilts, decks full of spider webs and nests, broken or moldy items), and we were told “well, it’s the end of the season so you have to understand “. NOT SO with Herons Cove. The condition of the property was like we were the first renters of the season. Incredibly well stocked with everything and anything you need, clean, clean, clean, and just the most beautiful location with lake access. A little sandy beach where my granddaughter played most of the time, but she could walk in the water to fill her buckets. Beautiful inside and out. Likely, the first property all my adult children have said, we’d like to come back here again. Truly a great week and if I can get them all together again, next year, I think we’ll be back. Thanks to our host for everything including great communication. Peace.

Crane Cove

Large enough for my family of 10. Swim area fantastic. Didn’t realize it would be so close to bridge & road so that was disappointing but after a few hours it was background noise.

Remote location

We had a great vacation here however this is very remote and not much other than the lake near you. There is no delivery of pizza OR food. The water was way too hot almost like a hot tub which is not refreshing at all. The house layout if a little odd there is no tv in the main livening area at all only in the loft. The air conditioning in the bedrooms downstairs and upstairs was not good guessing that’s why there is a fan in downstairs bedroom. The kayaks and paddle boards were nice. Overall we had a good vacation but would probably not return to this area as too remote.

It's a peaceful, unspoiled haven surrounded by nature, far from the crowds that often overrun other lakes. We hope you’ll experience the same serenity and enjoyment during your stay.

Last year, our family embarked on a search for the perfect lake home, and we had a clear vision in mind. We love everything about the lake—boating, swimming, and, of course, log houses—so finding a place that combined all of these was our goal. We dreamed of having our own boathouse to avoid the hassle of using public boat ramps and loading the boat onto a trailer every time.

After looking at many properties, we finally found the one—a stunning log home on an ideal piece of lakefront land. It wasn't easy to find, as we had specific requirements: a sandy, gently sloping swim area for the kids, a deep-water dock and boathouse for easy boat access, and a gorgeous view of the lake from the house so we could watch all the fun on the water. Capturing those moments from the comfort of our home was important to us.

The moment we stepped into the backyard, with its breathtaking lake view and the beautiful log house standing behind us, we knew we had found something special. The house itself checked all our boxes: five spacious bedrooms and five bathrooms, ensuring everyone had their own space. The blend of rustic charm and refined comfort made it the perfect fit for our family. We couldn't be more thrilled to call this place home!

Both Rustic and Refined describes our beautiful log home. The wall of windows in the great room allow anyone who hasn't gone out in the boat to have a panoramic scenic view of the lake and family enjoying it. The sunset is lovely from this location. Our home has all the necessary amenities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. It is warm, inviting, solid and certainly more sustainable than conventional housing on the lake. If it could talk, each log would have a story to tell and it would be delighted to welcome you in.
