The guests arrived at 4:15 and asked for a hair dryer, we responded that we didn't have one. At around 9pm the guest complained of cleanliness issues. The cleaner had cleaned the house before 4pm and I don't think the guest is being honest with her comments or ratings.

Thank you for your feedback. My responses to your comments are below: 1. We will look into keeping folding chairs in the garage but I would like to point out that we have additional seating on the kitchen island (besides the dining table). At the time you called, we did not have any additional chairs and as a result we directed you to sit outside. There is ample seating in the house if you include the kitchen area and the living room. 2. The holes on the wall (from previous wall paintings) have been filled in a few spots. More than 95% of the walls are in great shape. We will look into painting the walls in the future but since there is high traffic in the house (every summer week) it would not be environmentally friendly to paint the house every time there is a small issue. 3. Our previous renters might have damaged the towel rack; you should have called us and we would have arranged to fix it (our cleaner lives right across the street) 4. The bedrooms have all the necessary things most people want in a beach vacation home. We want to ensure that there is a balance between furniture and space in each room. 5. The hum that you referred to is the attic fan which runs to keep the house heat out. Again if you had called us, we would have asked you to turn the switch in the passage off that would have turned off the fan. Overall I think you have been over-critical of our house without giving us a chance to correct some minor things that you found. We have always got close to 5 star ratings from all of our previous guests. We live in an area where summer rentals have a 4 hour slot to do the necessary cleaning and patch up before the next renter comes in. We try to listen and respond to our guests but sometimes we are not able to provide for things our guest ask. As an fyi, we do have a cleaner that lives right across the street who has responded to emergencies in the past. I hope that in spite of some of the minor things you noted in your feedback, you enjoyed the Cape and hope you consider us in the future.
